amazon Edifier W820BT reviews
Design
The W820BT inherits the design of Edifier’s legacy: the simplest possible, no redundant elements. The whole body of the headset is finished in plastic, but is molded at a good enough level so it does not feel too creaking and uncomfortable, but it is difficult to keep up with the pairs of headphones at a higher price.
The exterior of the company logo, decorated by concentric circles reminds me of the decoration of Asus Zenbook laptops.
The cushioning is made of fine leatherette, it looks ugly in the photo but the outside is quite luxurious! I only used headphones for more than a week, so I can not evaluate the durability in the long run, but with the perfection like this, it will probably not soon fail like the cushion of the lower lines.
The charging port and 3.5mm port are split, each ear has one.
The control buttons are moved all the way to the right, including the power button (stop playing music) and adjust the volume (transfer song).

Practical experience
Another cut-off point of the W820BT besides the micro USB port is the Bluetooth 4.1 standard, but has not been upgraded to standard 5.0. But this is not a big weakness, because with the Over ear design with wires connecting the two sides, the delay is no longer a problem with this pair of headphones anymore. Of course, if in the future that the company can launch the next version equipped with 5.0 standard, it will certainly be better.
To compensate the user for this drawback, the W820BT has the most “longtime” use of the headphones I’ve tried: up to 80 hours! From the time I experienced the headset, I used it and had not yet to recharge the battery, which was great. Of course, for those who are “forgetful”, who have not been charging for a long time, they can still use the 3.5mm cable to continue listening to music!
Before placing the Edifier W820BT on my ears, I did not have too much hope for the quality of sound in this pair of headphones. But when the music turned on, something unexpected happened: these pairs of headphones were capable of reproducing sound not bad at all. The first range that users can hear is definitely bass, because this band has a little more than average, but the way of hitting is not too cumbersome and annoying. Most of the bass is still in the mid bass range, the closer it gets to the sub bass, the band is lighter, unable to get the ‘beautiful’ subwoofer like Sony WH-1000xm3 or Bose 35, but still enough to create Light ‘rumble’ in the background. The mid bass section of Climate change in the album Firebringer is full, rich and warm, hard to ask for more!
The mid is placed next to the bass is quite strong like that, so it can’t go straight towards the user, but the firm gives a certain thickness so it doesn’t sink completely into the background on the back. For a pair of headphones, I also have to compliment the W820BT for not changing the vocal color of the singer too much. The singers in Hamilton sounded quite similar to what I heard on the AKG headphones I was using. The highmid is just enough, but to really call ‘good’ it will need a bit more brightness. But for me, the balance, moderate is the strength of this negative range.
The sound range that I think needs to be improved for the next version is located in the high sound range. This band is not lacking in volume, because always give enough amount no matter what song. But the treble style is quite thin, so the echoes are not long enough to be able to ‘catch’ the attention of the users. The ability to play this treble strip also greatly affects the width of the soundstage, so the soundstage of the W820BT is also at a ‘barely usable’ level when compared to other pairs of Over ear headphones.

Summary
In order to bring a product to a low price, Edifier certainly had to cut a few factors on the W820BT such as plastic exterior finishing, without ‘special’ features such as touch, anti active noise, or a more spacious soundstage. But overall, this is not a bad option, when doing the most basic things that users need.
