HTC Butterfly S is an upgraded version of Butterfly and does not have much of a change in style. However, in terms of features as well as hardware, Butterfly S is more complete direction of the HTC One. The new model brings many advantages that HTC One, unfortunately the machine is not rated as excellent as the elder.
The HTC Butterfly S features a 5-inch Full HD display of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor running at 1.9 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The 4 megapixel rear camera with Ultrapixel technology with large pixels and 2.1 megapixel front camera.
HTC Butterfly S is not much different from HTC Butterfly. The main change is the addition of a speakerphone under the touch button. This is a device that gives the product a Boomsound sound system like the HTC One. However, the machine is not much longer than the “predecessor” is 144 mm and 143 mm. With a high capacity battery high than half the old version, the machine is also 160 grams more weight than 140 grams. Unfortunately, the upgraded version is no longer resistant to water and dust.
The red version of the Butterfly S has been polished to give it a modern look and feel for women, but it is quite easy to stick to fingerprints and scratches. Meanwhile, the black version is resin plastic cover should be limited many of these disadvantages. The machine has a screen larger and heavier than the old but comfortable and sturdy. Plastic case is not good but has good grip instead of slippery like the one made of aluminum shell.
With two speakers at the front and the same color line at the back, the Butterfly S is more balanced than the Butterfly. This is also the design details are “naughty” design on the old model. HTC uses a thin claw to both ends, while holding the palm to hold it firmly and helping the handset to look thinner.
Butterfly S uses the microSIM connector and still uses an old plastic cover that is no longer water resistant. Getting a sim with a stick is simpler than before but it’s not as easy as many current models. Moreover, the microSD card slot in the same box makes the operation even more difficult.
HTC’s new mobile phone also offers an interesting feature like the One which is the power button on the front that integrates infrared transmission to control remote devices. In another design detail, it is fortunate that HTC retains three touch keys like the first generation instead of just two as the one, which has been mentioned quite a bit.
Compared with the first generation Butterfly, the new model has a sound system thanks to the outstanding external speakers like the HTC One. Boomsound technology plays music through loudspeaker systems of high volume, bass and treble sound that perform well for personal entertainment in less noise. The sound of the Butterfly S as well as HTC One is superior to the current high-end mobile.
Performance, screen
Butterfly S is HTC’s first phone to run Sense 5 interface on Android 4.2.2 (formerly HTC One is 4.1.2). Compared with the original version of Google, HTC accidentally limited quite a lot of customization on the lock screen and replace with the features that the provider. The machine can not offer the flexible software as original 4.2.2, offset the information expressed through eye-catching effects such as weather, stock, images, messages … The BlinkFeed interface of the machine has The other point is to add visibility from Instagram and WeChat software (which is not available on the HTC One form).
Butterfly S owns a pretty strong configuration with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip One, but with a higher clock speed of 1.9 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The hardware of the machine is very smooth and during a trial period of about a week, the writer has almost no “lag” at all. With its 3D Mark rating, the Butterfly S is even better than the Samsung Galaxy S4 with the same Snapdragon 600 chip and clocked at 1.9 GHz. At the Antutu Benchmark score, the machine scored 24,931 points.
Butterfly S is equipped with a screen size of 5 inches equivalent to the Galaxy S4 but slightly larger than the HTC One. Full HD resolution, 441 ppi. Pictures show in, brilliant colors but not too misleading to the reality. Especially the ability to look good outdoors when increasing brightness.
Camera
Instead of being equipped with an 8 megapixel camera like the old one, Butterfly S comes in the direction of the One legacy with Ultrapixel technology with 4 megapixel resolution. The number of megapixel is low, but the sensor size remains the same, making each pixel a larger and more sensitive area for good dark conditions. Actual test shots show that the camera is beautiful but not quite outstanding compared to the same high-end mobile models today. The ability to shoot well, color is quite bold but distorted at the corners.
The Butterfly S also boasts a 2.1-megapixel front camera with wide angle, allowing users to take self portraits with up to 4-5 people in the frame.
Battery life
This is considered the most significant advantage of the HTC Butterfly S. Equipped with a battery up to 3,200 mAh surprising many users because the phone company Taiwan has quite “save” this component and Often complained. Compared to the HTC One with only 2,350 mAh, the Butterfly S is superior with up to 2 days of battery life at normal and one day if used for surfing web, video, gaming and music.
