Honor recently was perhaps the hottest name in the smartphone market as it consistently hit the market for top-notch configuration products, but the price was extremely attractive. Honor passed the market continues to add a new product also brought on the hardware “good” is not inferior to his senior, but the price is only medium. Honor 10, the latest smartphone model of Honor has officially reached the Asia market.
Honor 10 is a new name, but still feverishly because of the internal hardware of the high-end smartphone Huawei P20, which has 128GB of internal memory, Kirin 970 processor with eight processor cores (4 x Cortex-A73 2.4GHz and 4 x Cortex-A53 1.8GHz) and integrated graphics Mali-G72 MP12. The Honor 10 also has dual cameras powered by artificial intelligence, a high resolution 24 megapixel selfie camera, Android 8.1 (Oreo) platform and is also fashionable with its slim, Apple-like super-rabbit ears.
From the actual exposure, I found that Honor 10 subdivided some of the same design language as the Huawei Nova 3e tested. Specifically, the Honor 10 also has a glossy style with a back cover that reflects many beautiful light effects. The machine is slim, yet sturdy thanks to the metal frame for a gripy grip. However, the Honor 10’s remarkable detail is the presence of a versatile fingerprint sensor on the front, a USB Type-C interface that dramatically shortens the charging time and, importantly, Use the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
Honor 10 also has a neat “notch” section, which helps the Android Notifications bar display more information. Although the design of the SIM container allows the user to use two SIM (nano) simultaneously, but Honor 10 does not support the expansion of storage space by memory card. Fortunately, USB Type-C on Honor 10 still allows users to connect external memory (USB) to backup data as needed. By default, Honor 10 will display an Android-specific virtual navigation cluster at the bottom of the screen, but if you want to maximize the work / play space, you can still hide the entire array of functions and use the fingerprint sensor to interact with the machine.
Compared to Honor 9’s predecessor, Honor 10 has a larger LCD, but thanks to its “powerful” 19: 9 screen, which has a screen ratio of 79.9% still very neatly fit. The overall display quality of the Honor 10’s 5.74 inches 2280 x 1080 screen is generally good. Basic image detail is not worth complaining about. However, in some tests at Biareview, the IPS panel of Honor 10 showed that black was not “good” compared to some competitors. Screen brightness is also enough to get a clear and honestly pretty image quality when you use it outside. The manufacturer, by default, sets the screen resolution to 2280 x 1080 pixels but when you’re setting up the device, users can still pick a lower resolution, like 1520 x 720 pixels, if the goal is to save battery when it’s really needed.
As noted, Honor 10 hardware is quite close to the top-tier smartphone vibe of Huawei P20 . If you compare it with the newer Huawei P20 Pro, the Honor 10 only has a somewhat smaller RAM amount (the Huawei P20 Pro includes 6GB of RAM). Honor 10 still uses the Kirin 970 , and it has already shown it can manage multitasking and even handle graphics for heavier games than those big names in the smartphone industry usually brag about.
. Although the memory capacity is reduced to 4GB, Honor 10 in 3DMark performance tests shows that the difference in frame rate is not significant. Actual use shows that Honor 10 still in the smooth in the dramatic battle PUBG is still not inferior to the high-end smartphone Huawei P20 Pro test recently. However, Minus point of Honor 10 is the body is quite hot when the play game in hot summer days.
About the camera, the Honor 10 carries a dual camera 16 MP RGB sensor (f / 1.8) + Monochrome 24 MP sensor, support phase focus, integrated LED flash. Experience shows that the application interface that Honor installed is also a casual style. By default, the accompanying photography application does not enable AI support. Once enabled, AI will automatically analyze the context for optimal settings. I found that, with the help of AI, the overall color quality was “smoother”. Compared with the AI, I found that the image was “clear” quite strongly in color temperature, the contrast makes the overall picture look “richer”. With the AI enabled, I found that Honor 10 is really quick to distinguish different subjects from lakes, trees, skies to pets. With Honor 10, users can also create 3D animated characters using the 3D Creator feature of the pre-installed capture application and save them as videos or GIFs. Most images taken in good light conditions show good detail as expected. The selfie camera with Portrait mode also shows smoother fonts.
It can be said that the Honor 10 is like the Huawei P20, but the price is cheaper. Honor 10 is enough to compete with high rivals, while the costs are attractive. The camera also has many interesting features, good image quality, large internal memory, and the latest Android platform. Despite the battery life is not very good, but Honor 10 is still enough to handle a day for heavy tasks and manufacturers also equipped with adapters to support fast charger. If you have a smartphone that is many years old and is planning to change, Honor 10 can be considered as an interesting option. However, if you have been using Honor 9, upgrading to Honor 10 does not really make much sense.
