Design

K60M looks really impressive facility with a cheap keyboard. Keyboards part surface (plate) metal very sturdy and solid, appearance is somewhat reminiscent of BlackWidow X Chroma. A lumpy painted plate section should not muddy scratched aluminum material in the keyboard Corsair, and when used long, can leave fingerprint smudges, but the phenomenon is not so clear.

Another detail is the same X Chroma is high keys floating on the surface plate. This design makes it easy; hygienic keyboards made LED downlight from the surface is also quite a beautiful key. Journey unaffected keys compared to conventional designs. Compact size keyboard, the surface is cut so close to the i-Rocks buttons K60M no part Statistics hands.
Keycap (key cover) of K60M is made of ABS plastic; the material is common but, theoretically, less reliable than the material on the K50E. However, thanks to the overlay roughness after two months of use, the keyboard on the original look remains the same, not being “bad old” by the sweat from the hands of users.

Keycap fonts are printed on slightly “gentle” and no signature. The brightness of LEDs is also very good; at the highest level is enough to office environments multiple lamps. Keyboard with four lamp modes (displayed in full of the numeric keypad, only AWSD light clusters and navigation keys, and mode “breathing”) and four levels of brightness. Overall features LED in K60M enough, hard to ask for much more brightness or RGB LED at this price.

On the underside of the key, i-Rocks design to 3-way wiring so that users can sort neat wiring. The keyboard has four rubber cushions, and stand in the rubber buffer should also put on the table very sturdy, non-slip while typing. The USB connector is gold plated, but the wires, only rubber-coated, not coated mesh.

Experience keystroke to switch Kalih

Kailh, the big switch manufacturer in China, recently participated in the array for the keyboard buttons. The company had received many aversion from players who use mechanical keyboard deliberately “clones” of the switch types Cherry: Cherry has any colored and Kailh also. But the key features are not identical. Due to imitating and originating in China, many people have thought the default quality Kailh keys under Cherry.

The feeling of the switch type Kailh no major differences compared with Cherry switch.
Overall, the blue button K60M very good response to the daily work of the writer; although interactive force gets high, I do not see the soreness in my hands while using the keyboard every day. With gaming, players can enjoy more red switches because of a tap (linear) seamlessly and lighter pressing force, but it is a matter of personal preference.

A small minus point for design K60M keyboard is floating higher, with splendid fixed (stabilizer) Cherry style so long keys feel unsure when placed on the keycap fingers and when knocked down, especially the spacebar ( space bar). The sound from the blue switch will also cause you to be noticeable when used in a quiet environment.

Other features

i-Rocks equipped with two features for K60M key lock: lock down the Windows key and lock all keys. Two key buttons are placed in positions F11 and F12, Fn key combinations below to fast operation. Windows key lock function will help gamers avoid and escape press the wrong game, but the whole key lock function to take effect as if you were watching movies/games without using the keyboard and do not want others or pet accidentally press the key. Turning the key lock indicator light will blink on the right side so that you know the status.

K60M also equipped joystick the movie/music player, in terms of F1 through F8 keys. The keys are arranged logically, fully functional for control. i-Rocks said the keyboard also supports N-key rollover.
That is not a dedicated gaming keypad, so i-Rocks has not invested in the software. A specialized keyboard for gaming will often control software, assign keys and key combinations, and more flexible light control.

Key Switches

The heart of any mechanical keyboard is its key switches, and the i-Rocks K60M does not disappoint in this regard. The keyboard is equipped with Cherry MX switches, which are widely regarded as some of the best mechanical switches on the market. Cherry MX switches are known for their durability, with a rated lifespan of 50 million keystrokes, ensuring that the K60M will last for years of heavy use.

The K60M is available with several Cherry MX switch options:

  • Cherry MX Blue: Known for their tactile bump and audible click, Cherry MX Blue switches are popular among typists who enjoy a more tactile typing experience. The clicky nature of these switches makes them less ideal for shared workspaces, but they provide satisfying feedback for those who appreciate the sound and feel of mechanical keyboards.
  • Cherry MX Red: These linear switches have a smooth keypress with no tactile bump or audible click. Cherry MX Red switches are favored by gamers for their quick actuation and light touch, making them ideal for fast-paced gaming where every millisecond counts.
  • Cherry MX Brown: Offering a middle ground between Blue and Red switches, Cherry MX Brown switches have a tactile bump but no audible click. This makes them a versatile option for both typing and gaming, providing tactile feedback without the noise.
  • Cherry MX Black: Similar to Red switches but with a heavier actuation force, Cherry MX Black switches are also linear but require more force to actuate. These switches are often preferred by gamers who want to avoid accidental key presses.

Each of these switch types offers a different typing experience, so the choice ultimately comes down to personal preference. The Cherry MX Blue switches, for example, are great for those who type a lot and enjoy the tactile feedback and audible click, while the Red and Black switches are better suited for gaming.

Typing Experience

The typing experience on the i-Rocks K60M is excellent, largely due to the high-quality Cherry MX switches. Whether you’re typing up long documents, coding, or playing games, the keyboard provides a satisfying and responsive feel. The keys have a consistent actuation force, and the feedback from the switches makes typing feel precise and enjoyable.

For typists, the Cherry MX Blue and Brown switches are particularly appealing. The tactile feedback helps reduce typing errors by providing a clear indication of when a key has been actuated. This can be especially helpful for those who type quickly and need to maintain accuracy.

For gamers, the Cherry MX Red and Black switches offer a different kind of experience. The linear nature of these switches allows for rapid key presses without the distraction of a tactile bump. This can be advantageous in fast-paced games where quick reflexes are essential.

One thing to note is the keyboard’s sound profile. The Cherry MX Blue switches, in particular, are quite loud due to their clicky nature. If you’re in a shared workspace or a quiet environment, this might not be the best choice. On the other hand, the Red and Brown switches are much quieter and more suitable for such environments.

The keyboard’s stabilizers, which are used on larger keys like the spacebar, shift, and enter keys, are well-implemented on the K60M. They prevent the keys from wobbling and provide a consistent feel across the board. This is an important feature for ensuring a high-quality typing experience, as poorly implemented stabilizers can make larger keys feel mushy or uneven.

Backlighting and Customization

The i-Rocks K60M features customizable backlighting, which is a key feature for many users. The keyboard offers multiple lighting modes, including static, breathing, and reactive effects. The backlighting is available in different colors depending on the model you choose, with options for single-color or RGB lighting.

The backlighting on the K60M is bright and even, with minimal light bleed around the keycaps. The legends on the keycaps are clearly visible, even in low-light conditions, which is great for those who like to work or game in dim environments.

Customization of the backlighting can be done through the i-Rocks software, which allows you to create custom lighting profiles, adjust brightness levels, and choose from various lighting effects. The software is user-friendly and provides a good range of options for personalizing your keyboard’s appearance.

In addition to lighting customization, the i-Rocks K60M also supports macro recording and key remapping. This is particularly useful for gamers who want to create complex key combinations or shortcuts for their favorite games. The software makes it easy to set up macros and assign them to specific keys, giving you an edge in competitive gaming.

Durability and Longevity

Durability is a critical factor when it comes to mechanical keyboards, and the i-Rocks K60M is built to last. The keyboard’s metal top plate and sturdy plastic chassis provide a solid foundation that can withstand heavy use. The Cherry MX switches are rated for 50 million keystrokes, which means the K60M should remain reliable for many years.

The keycaps, as mentioned earlier, are made of ABS plastic. While ABS is a common material for keycaps, it is not as durable as PBT, which is found on higher-end keyboards. Over time, ABS keycaps can develop a shiny appearance due to the oils from your fingers. This doesn’t affect the functionality of the keyboard, but it may impact the overall aesthetics. However, keycaps are easily replaceable, and there are plenty of aftermarket options available if you want to upgrade to PBT keycaps.

The keyboard’s USB cable is detachable, which is a nice feature for those who want to use a custom cable or replace it if it gets damaged. The cable is braided and has a good length, providing enough flexibility for different desk setups.

Gaming Performance

For gamers, the i-Rocks K60M offers a solid performance. The Cherry MX Red and Black switches are particularly well-suited for gaming, thanks to their linear action and quick actuation. This allows for rapid key presses, which can be crucial in fast-paced games where reaction time is key.

The keyboard’s N-key rollover (NKRO) and anti-ghosting features ensure that all your key presses are registered accurately, even when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. This is essential for gaming, where complex key combinations are often used.

The customizable backlighting is another benefit for gamers, as it allows you to highlight important keys or create specific lighting profiles for different games. The ability to record macros and remap keys also adds to the keyboard’s gaming capabilities, giving you more control over your gameplay.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics is an important consideration for any keyboard, especially if you spend long hours typing or gaming. The i-Rocks K60M comes with a detachable wrist rest, which helps to reduce strain on your wrists during extended use. The wrist rest is made of plastic, and while it’s not as cushioned as some other options on the market, it provides adequate support.

The keyboard has an adjustable tilt with two different height settings, allowing you to choose the angle that is most comfortable for you. The floating keycap design also contributes to the keyboard’s ergonomic profile by allowing your fingers to easily move between keys without feeling cramped.

While the K60M doesn’t have as many ergonomic features as some high-end keyboards, such as split designs or tenting options, it offers a good balance between comfort and performance for most users.

Software and Customization

The i-Rocks K60M comes with software that allows for a good degree of customization. The software is intuitive and easy to use, providing options for customizing the backlighting, setting up macros, and remapping keys. Although the software might not be as feature-rich as some of the more premium brands, it offers a solid level of control for users who want to personalize their keyboard experience.

Backlighting Customization

One of the main attractions of the i-Rocks K60M is its customizable backlighting. Depending on the version you choose, the keyboard offers either single-color LED backlighting or full RGB lighting. The single-color versions usually come in white, red, or blue, while the RGB version allows for a much wider spectrum of colors and lighting effects.

Through the i-Rocks software, you can cycle through various lighting modes such as static, breathing, reactive, and wave effects. You can also adjust the brightness and speed of these effects, allowing you to fine-tune the lighting to your liking. For those who enjoy a more subtle look, the software also allows you to reduce the brightness or turn off the backlighting entirely.

For the RGB version, the software lets you create custom lighting profiles where you can assign different colors to specific keys or zones. This is particularly useful for gamers who want to highlight important keys for different games, such as WASD for movement or specific function keys for in-game commands.

Macro Setup and Key Remapping

The i-Rocks K60M’s software also supports macro recording, which is a valuable feature for gamers and power users alike. With macros, you can record complex key sequences and assign them to a single key. This can be a huge advantage in games that require repetitive commands or in productivity tasks where certain actions are performed frequently.

Setting up macros is straightforward with the i-Rocks software. You simply start the recording process, input your desired key sequence, and then stop the recording. Once recorded, the macro can be assigned to any key on the keyboard. The software also allows you to create multiple profiles, so you can have different macro setups for different applications or games.

Key remapping is another useful feature available in the software. If you find that the default key layout isn’t quite to your liking, you can easily reassign keys to different functions. This can be particularly beneficial for left-handed users or those with specific accessibility needs.

User Interface and Experience

The software’s user interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, making it accessible even for those who aren’t particularly tech-savvy. Navigating through the different customization options is easy, with clear labels and straightforward menus.

One potential drawback is that the software doesn’t offer as many advanced features as some of the more high-end keyboard software available from competitors like Razer or Corsair. For example, it lacks the deep level of integration with games or other applications that some other software suites provide. However, for the majority of users, the level of customization available with the i-Rocks software will be more than sufficient.

Durability and Maintenance

The durability of the i-Rocks K60M is one of its strong points. The keyboard is built with longevity in mind, thanks to the use of high-quality materials and Cherry MX switches. The metal top plate adds to the overall robustness of the keyboard, making it resistant to flex and ensuring that it can withstand the rigors of daily use.

Keycaps

As mentioned earlier, the keycaps are made from ABS plastic, which is standard for most keyboards in this price range. While ABS keycaps are comfortable and have a nice feel, they are more prone to developing a shiny appearance over time compared to PBT keycaps. This doesn’t affect the keyboard’s functionality, but it can impact the aesthetic appeal for those who are particular about the look of their keyboard.

For those who are concerned about the longevity of the keycaps, it’s worth noting that the i-Rocks K60M uses a standard keycap layout. This means that you can easily find replacement keycap sets if you want to upgrade to PBT keycaps or simply change the look of your keyboard.

Maintenance

Keeping the i-Rocks K60M clean is relatively easy due to its floating keycap design. This design makes it simple to remove the keycaps for cleaning, allowing you to easily reach the areas around the switches where dust and debris tend to accumulate.

The keyboard’s sturdy construction means that it’s also resistant to minor spills and drops. However, as with any electronic device, it’s important to take care to avoid exposing the keyboard to liquids or other potentially damaging substances.

Longevity

Given the quality of the materials and the use of Cherry MX switches, the i-Rocks K60M is built to last. The Cherry MX switches themselves are rated for 50 million keystrokes, which means that even with heavy daily use, the keyboard should continue to perform reliably for many years.

The detachable USB cable is another feature that adds to the keyboard’s longevity. If the cable becomes damaged or worn out, it can easily be replaced without needing to replace the entire keyboard. The fact that the cable is braided also adds to its durability, reducing the likelihood of fraying or breakage over time.

Price and Value

One of the i-Rocks K60M’s most compelling features is its value for money. Priced competitively in the mechanical keyboard market, the K60M offers a lot of features and high-quality components that are typically found in more expensive keyboards.

The inclusion of Cherry MX switches, customizable backlighting, and a sturdy build make the K60M a great option for anyone looking for a reliable mechanical keyboard without breaking the bank. While it might not have all the bells and whistles of some higher-end models, it provides a solid, no-nonsense typing and gaming experience that will satisfy most users.

For gamers, the macro functionality and key remapping options add extra value, making the K60M a versatile choice for a wide range of gaming genres. Typists will also appreciate the tactile feedback of the Cherry MX switches, particularly the Blue and Brown variants.

Conclude

i-Rocks has shown to be a reasonable strategy for the K60M. Investing in design firms stressed appearance to stand out compared with competitors in the same price range. Quality and experience of the switch by typing Kailh provide pretty good also meet common needs.
