The company has brought mechanical keyboards to international popularity. IYX follows this market trend by producing their impressive MU68 Pro mechanical keyboard.
- Unboxing
The process begins with the unboxing procedure. The MU68 Pro package contains a user manual, a braided USB AC cable, a keycap and switch removal tool, and three spare switches. The package includes a plastic keyboard cover which protects the keyboard from dust accumulation.
The MU68 Pro comes as a fully assembled keyboard which includes the pre-attachment of its strap component. You only need to connect the device after unpacking to start typing without any other tasks. Users will probably remove the strap because its only useful function is to change its appearance. The strap comes with two screws which you need to unscrew for removal.
- Design
IYX based their design for the MU68 Pro on multiple design elements from the Wooting 60HE+ keyboard. The MU68 Pro outperforms its competitors because of its various capabilities.
The die-cast aluminum casing gives it a weight of 1,115g, creating a sturdy and stable feel. The bottom surface of the object has a sculpted texture which matches the design of the casing.
The PBT keycaps feature printed designs which show at a slanted angle and low profile while the keycaps emit bright RGB backlight. The 65% layout maintains its small form, but it offers one extra arrow key which improves racing game performance.
- Experience
For gaming keyboards, quick response is more important than typing feel. Therefore, the MU68 Pro’s use of a tray mount is perfectly logical. This is the most basic and common mounting method on custom mechanical keyboards. It’s designed in a drop-in box with spare parts to protect the combination of the PCB and circuit board. But that doesn’t mean it’s unsuitable as your office keyboard.
The keycaps are side-printed, the stabilizers and switches are well-lubricated and foam-filled inside, producing a very strong typing sound. We’re not exaggerating; this typing experience is as good as many other high-end keyboards.
- Switches
The MU68 Pro uses OKT switches with an actuation force of 35±5GF and a bottoming force of 50±5GF. The body stability is very good, and the dead zone is close to zero, along with a minimum value for Rapid trigger of 0.02. Combined with an ultra-low latency of 0.3ms and a response rate of up to 8,000Hz, this provides a solid foundation for a great gaming keyboard.
We also tested it on several games and didn’t notice any contact issues. It can be confidently stated that this keyboard can significantly enhance the gaming experience for OSU! and VALORANT players.
- Website Setup
Besides the installation software, the MU68 Pro also allows you to adjust the keyboard directly on the website. There are seven languages for the options, and all settings are the same as the software installed on a PC. This is a very good approach; we really wish all keyboard settings were available through the website and didn’t require downloading overly complicated software.

We can sense that IYX designed the MU68 Pro with a clear purpose: to create a better yet cheaper keyboard compared to the industry’s leading brands. Thanks to industrial advancements, IYX has truly achieved this with a metal-cased keyboard that offers a good typing feel and costs around $100, only half the price of the Wooting 60HE+.
