First, the packaging is quite sturdy with a transparent carton and mica box that can see the true color of the product inside. DESIGN

As the title says, this is a pure earbud headset with a design similar to Apple’s Airpods, but looking closely at every detail is quite different because a big company like JBL makes it impossible to copy the archetype of the opponent.

In general, the Tune 220 is slightly larger than Apple’s Airpods. The material of Tune 220 TWS is made entirely of rough plastic with a sharp finish. The top part has a vent hole to reduce air pressure, making the sound more natural; inside the vent is also an LED showing the connection status. JBL Tune 220 headphones use physical buttons; below the bottom of the earphones are the charging pins, and right next to the R side of the ear is the conversation Mic unit.

That is a True wireless product in the form of a main – side. The R side (right) is the main ear, the L side (left) is the secondary ear. When connected, the R will connect to the phone first, then connect to the L ear. We can independently use one R side to listen to music as well as make calls normally. The L side cannot be used independently.

Charging box part

The charging box material is made entirely of rough plastic, rounded around the body to feel quite soft; the front is printed with JBL Logo, the back is printed with voltage parameters and safety certificates. USER EXPERIENCE

The first is the feeling of wearing; I tried it compared to Airpods, JBL tune 220 gives a stronger sense of grip, I ran a test, shook my head continuously but it couldn’t fall out and didn’t hurt at all moving position, maybe because the material is rough plastic. Airpods is glossy plastic, so it is more slippery. But JBL tune 220 feels a bit bulkier than Airpods. Same Earbud design, but BL Tune 220 gives me a bit better sound insulation.

Its physical buttons do not make me like it, the pressure is quite strong, and the button position is right in the middle, so every time I press the key, I get poked by the speaker in my ear, which makes me uncomfortable. I like a touch more. The rest of the key operations of the headset are quite complete. The volume up and down key commands are not attached, unfortunately.

The conversational microphone on JBL tune 220 makes me satisfied; I tested it when riding a motorbike and in the room, both providing good quality, clearly listening to calls on both sides, and when listening to calls, both L and R sides sound. Unlike some true wireless headphones that can only be heard on one main side when talking. It is always an advantage for the conversion feature with a long bar design and a mic at the bottom.

Charging case: for a good grip, grip, not slippery, easy to put in a pants pocket. The lid of the box opens and closes quite happily because the hinge is very strong and smooth. The only thing is that it is a bit difficult to take out the headset with one hand, not as easy and smooth as Airpods. I don’t like and find quite curious about this charging box because it uses a very ancient Micro charging port J mid-2020. Why not Type-C? That means it also can’t have the fast charging feature. That is a big minus point of JBL Tune 220 in my eyes.

SOUND QUALITY

Finally will be the feel of my JBL Tune 220 True wireless headphone sound quality. “Oh, what a surprise,” a feeling of disappointment, or maybe I am misinterpreting JBL’s concept of Pure Bass? I looked up the dictionary for the term “Pure Bass,” like JBL introduced, and Google translated it as original bass but never minded; I don’t care because I must hear how I feel. If there were no word Pure bass, I probably wouldn’t have felt disappointed because at first, I thought that when I put it on Play 1 time, it was boom, boom, and bust. Still, no, on the contrary, it was a bass lacking in volume, not abundant, not warm like the Airpods that I often listen to; when I came here, I took off my headphones, looked at it for a while, and thought why does JBL have a sound like this??

And I suddenly remembered that I was holding an Earbud headset in my hand, not an in-ear. Still, the earbud could not get the loud, powerful and powerful Bass sound like in-ear, and on this Tune 220 with so many vents, the bass can’t be heavy. When I wear it for a while, I listen to the music; it just drifts without realizing it. The more I listen to it, the more I see comfortable, not noisy; the music I listen to is all through youtube, with some genres that I listen to every day such as Study music, Lofi. Just remembered the music I’m listening to doesn’t need a lot of basses. What do you do? The amount is just enough, even happier. Perhaps too much has been said about Bass bass, but at Mr. JBL, the message of Pure Bass is so clear that people keep focusing on it.

Personally, as the president of JBL, I will name it “Pure Sound” because it is clear that this is a fairly balanced headset; Treble is very cool, sounds very comfortable. In addition, the Mid prize also made me quite satisfied, it didn’t come out as clearly as the Airpods, but it was a bit behind the Treble sound. Listening to it for a long time while listening and working like me, I feel more absorbed, more adventurous, feel quite refreshed.

That’s all I feel after two days of using the JBL Tune 220 true wireless headset. I summarize in my personal opinion; this is a headset that is not expensive but also not cheap compared to the quality; it is at a moderate level if you cannot wear in-ear headphones. That will be a product worth your attention in the price range of more than $95 because it is nonetheless a product from a big company that guarantees long-term quality. After all, in this segment, there are very few big brands. It’s even rare to make earbuds.
