In the third quarter of 2020, Skullcandy headset company launched Evo upgrades of the Sesh vs. Indy lines. After the launch of Indy Evo achieved success and expectations of audio players, many people also expect from Sesh Evo products.

Design

To reset the headset, hold the skull button for 10 seconds. To see the dock battery life, press the key next to the light.

IP55 resistance waterproof

Skullcandy only keeps IP55 waterproof, sweatproof, splashproof, higher than the Indy Evo series, which only reaches IP55. So when accidentally heavy rain splashes, no problem.

However, users who love to exercise or gym will still be quiet when ip55 standard sweatproof water is enough to play sports comfortably. Although not as good as the Push Ultra line, it is enough to use.

Wearing experience

After two weeks of actual use, I found this Sesh Evo headset is similar to the Sesh version; there is not much difference.

Regarding the control of the physical keys, there is a bit more bounce and a little more like with the previous version. Wearing the ear is quite comfortable, not painful like other earplugs.

Conversation

The Sesh Evo model is not strong in conversation; the quality of the conversation is at a normal level; when on the road, you should stop the car to listen to calls and avoid blocking the wind. The headset does not have ANC vs. Ambient Sound noise cancellation, but passive noise cancellation, I rate, is good; you will almost not hear anything when wearing this earphone and playing music.

In return, the headset supports a mic on both ears to talk better than single ears.

Battery life

Skullcandy Sesh Evo True Wireless headphones have up to 5 hours of music and talk time; adding the charging case will use up to 19 more hours for a total of 24 hours, up to 15 hours longer than the regular Sesh life.

The support for faster type C charging will make you excited when you have not had time to charge the dock, 10 minutes of fast charging use up to 2 hours of using the headset, and the charging box can store 4 hours of use through Modern fast charging Type-C port.

Sound quality

To evaluate the sound quality of Skullcandy Sesh headphones, I still use familiar Test playlists such as Hotel California, Hello, Alone, lossless quality through the ancient iPhone 6s, but the test is very accurate.

The headset has a softer Bass, medium-range, not too wide, but still ensures a more compact sound than a regular Sesh. The subwoofer in the Hotel California music is quieter and not as violent as the previous Indy or Skull method lines. When tested on Alan Waker’s Alone version, it is also very suitable for EDM who do not like violence too much.

The mid-range is clear; the sound is compact and quite smooth. I was quite surprised with this sound range of Sesh Evo when the Skull series usually do not focus on this sound range but often encroached on bass vs. treble. Much of it is thanks to more stable Bluetooth 5.0 transmission technology and EQ adjustment of Music, Podcast, or Movie modes.

The Treble strip is compact and not as harsh as the indy life. This sound range Sesh has not shown too suitable for those who love the treble range with a cold jingle that is just enough to hear.

The stage sound is average, I’m not very impressed, so I don’t comment much. Get something that sounds a bit like an auditorium, more, sounds quite cozy.

Controlling the EQ function is also a nice tweak; you can easily switch to enjoy music, watch movies, or news mode.
