amazon Nokia C20 reviews
That is the Nokia C20 – the first smartphone in the C-series from the “grandfather of the phone industry.” Obviously, with the price set by the manufacturer, it does not belong to the brothers with technology blood, those who need to give themselves a high-tech device. However, if you think that C20 is weak, you might be wrong because you have to be surprised and change your thinking after five days of using C20.
This year, Nokia has returned to the Android playground with its low-cost C-series strategic card. Of course, behind Nokia at the moment is still HMD Global. Let me talk a little bit about HMD Global for those who don’t know much: HMD Global will be responsible for manufacturing, distributing, and selling Nokia-branded smartphones. That is a company in Finland (also where Nokia is headquartered). HMD Global has signed a contract with Nokia to use the “Nokia” brand on their mobile products for ten years. Thus, all smartphones bearing the Nokia name are currently produced and sold by HMD Global.
However, HMD does not do everything on its own; they have carefully prepared before launching Nokia smartphones to the market. HMD acquired part of Microsoft Mobile’s feature phone business; shook hands with Nokia, Google, FIH (a subsidiary of Foxconn, a famous phone manufacturing and distribution company). HMD is committed to producing consumer-facing Android smartphones focusing on innovation, quality, and experience while preserving Nokia’s iconic design, durability, and reliability.
After experiencing this Nokia C20 for five days, I can assure you: This is still a true Nokia phone!!!
For this phone, I will review in the most basic direction, in line with the spirit that Nokia aims at on the C20. First: Design. That is a product feature that “everyone has an opinion,” good or bad, I won’t discuss here, but for me, the most accurate word about the design of this C20 is PRACTICAL. It’s simple, intuitive; the button position (power button and volume up and down) is arranged in a place where “holding the phone in and pressing it right away,” no need for users to grope. The 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top edge, the speaker, the mic, and the USB charging port are located on the bottom edge, all of which are accurately represented.
The point I like the most in the design of the Nokia C20 is that the back of the device is made of textured polycarbonate, combined with a weight of 191 grams, so in terms of comfort when holding and daily use experience, it’s FUN. The back design is taken from high-end models like Nokia 7.2 and 8.2: The Nokia logo in the middle and the camera cluster are designed in a circular shape, including a camera and a flash placed proportionally.
In addition, the back of the device does not engrave any words or “trash can icon” at all – completely minimalist. A little note for you guys is that this back is a bit fingerprinted, but that’s okay; Nokia gives you a silicone case in the box, so you probably don’t need to think about this. Another point I like is that the back of the Nokia C20, when you do any task, it is not hot, even when testing AnTuTu for 10 minutes, it is only slightly warm, very comfortable, but not warm. Test AnTuTu on glass backs; how do you understand it! The version I’m evaluating has Meteor Blue; I chose this color instead of Yellow; it looks more masculine.
By the way, I always talk about the durability of the machine. During a gym run, I took this C20 with me to listen to music and accidentally dropped it at the height of about 1.2 meters above the ground. After picking up the device, there is not even a scratch, so I can assure you that this device still carries Nokia’s super durable DNA! I think we all know how durable Nokia is, confirmed over the years from the 110i or Lumia generations, even after many years of use, not scratch, true to European standards. I always believe that Nokia C20 will continue that tradition!
You can easily see that Nokia’s pragmatic spirit is also maximized through the screen. Before going deeper into this important component, I must correct a few things. I am using the iPhone XR, but you know what the iPhone XR screen is like. However, because I’ve been using this “controversial” smartphone for so long, specifically about three years, I’m so used to this screen!
Then you probably understand what I mean, the screen on the Nokia C20 is just as practical. With the exact size of 6.52 inches, the resolution of 720 * 1600, for me personally, it is comfortable. The true color is what I appreciate on the screen of the Nokia C20. Of course, because it uses an IPS panel, it will not be as flattering as panels like AMOLED or OLED.
Due to the nature of the job, often having to edit images, even on the phone, true color is a big plus for me personally. The photo editing on the Nokia C2 is the same as on the Apple iPhone XR, with no color-related difference. Regarding the remaining entertainment capabilities, with 6.52 inches, the display area on the Nokia C20’s screen is relatively large; watching Youtube or Netflix is fine, surfing social networks, reading newspapers, the text is large and clear. If you buy this device for your parents, you don’t have to worry about whether the screen is pitted or not. The device’s front camera is made in the form of a mole, with a built-in face unlock, an ability that is fast, too good.
Having said that again and again, the point that I do not like a little bit on this screen is that its “lower chin” is a bit thick, understandable, the price range is popular, but if on the later version that Nokia does It would be great if this place was a little thinner. After combining a series of related factors, I have commented that the screen of this device is good.
The exterior is done; now, I will go to the interior. Like you guys, I don’t have too high expectations for the configuration and performance of the device when reading through the parameters that Nokia sets out. The brain of the Nokia C20 is called Unisoc SC9863A (28nm), eight cores, Mali-G52 MC2 graphics card; the version I have in hand is the most advanced version, equipped with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. These are considered quite strange parameters for current technology brothers.
However, the interesting thing is here, the actual performance of the Nokia C20 makes me quite “wow.” Opening any application will pop out at a very fast speed, the effect of opening the application is equally fast, especially Google’s applications, almost not a second late. After looking more closely, it turns out that this device is currently running Android Go, guys, so Google’s applications have been fully optimized, so its speed is so fast!
The remaining applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, or Netflix, are the same; its opening speed and its transition effects also surprised me on the first day of use. With third-party applications like this, it still has a certain but negligible delay, the UI-UX effect when opening the application is still very smooth, and the frame freeze when surfing in the applications. Social networks or videos do not appear during my experience with the device. Well, let’s talk a little bit about Android Go:
- If you buy this device, you will certainly not have to worry about security updates.
- It will be updated for two consecutive years (maybe in the third year) and Every three months from activating the device.
- Google will give you a security update.

This update speed is on par with Pixels, which is another plus.
All in all, in terms of performance, the Nokia C20 offers a pleasant experience that perfectly meets the needs of all today’s phone users. Good entertainment, students, those who do not have too much income, and a group of users that I did not mention, our parents, need a practical phone. There’s no need for blinding performance, reading newspapers and watching movies on a beautiful big screen is so delicious!
One of the points I appreciate about the Nokia C20 is its 3,000mAh battery (removable, comfortable to replace) that provides a very long time of actual use. It’s easy to understand; the machine does not have to bear the terrible performance CPU or the 2K – 4K screen.
So you guys know how I’ve been using this machine for the past five days! Turn on 4G all the time and never turn it off for a second. When you have hands-free playing, you can turn on Youtube with Netflix to watch 4G, which is also convenient for checking the device’s battery life. With multi-tasking: surfing social networks, watching movies, playing a few light puzzle games, the device provides up to 7 hours of on-screen time with 100% screen brightness (including 4G enabled). That is the battery life for me; no need to discuss!
With a 5MP resolution, it can be used in bright enough conditions. After being processed in the final stage, photos are of good quality, have accurate colors, and have enough details. I do not have too many complaints about the camera-equipped on the Nokia C20, especially regarding the reference system and the customer file it is aiming.
That’s all that I experienced on Nokia C20 – The first C that Nokia brought this year. In summary, who is this machine for, and is it worth keeping an eye on?
The answer is this: If you are a pragmatic person, need a true phone, want to optimize the cost of a consumable item, or need a smartphone for backup, the Nokia C20 is the top smartphone on that list.
If you need to buy your parents or loved ones a good smartphone (reading newspapers, watching Youtube, social networks), this is a choice that is hard to ignore. Moreover, C20 is a smartphone from the Nokia family; how can anyone not know Nokia, typically my parents, not the iPhone is number 1; it’s Nokia!
Suppose you work in harsh environments (construction workers, going on many field trips, working in factories, or “not ideal” environments). Need a durable smartphone strong battery, then obviously, Nokia C20 will be the smartphone; that meets this almost perfectly!
