The Find X9s isn’t the stern, spec-sheet flagship built for power users. It feels younger than that. OPPO is aiming it at the Gen Z crowd who shoot photos and video, lean on AI, translate things on the fly and post something most days.
It’s the smallest of the series, but the hardware is still flagship: a 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, three 50MP cameras on the back, and a 7,025 mAh battery that charges at 80W over SUPERVOOC.
The box still has everything in it
Inside: the phone, a charger, a USB cable, a case, a SIM pin, the quick start guide and the safety leaflet. Plenty of premium phones now arrive with a near-empty box, so a charger in there counts for something, especially on a phone with this much battery to fill.
Anyone who has owned an OPPO will recognize the unboxing. It’s tidy and it doesn’t try too hard. Nothing is missing either, so the phone is usable the day it arrives without a charger or a case to buy first.

Design: premium without looking middle-aged
156.98 x 73.93 x 7.99 mm, around 202 grams. That isn’t light. It is also under 8 mm thick with a 7,025 mAh battery inside, which is the part worth sitting with. The colors are Midnight Grey, Lavender Sky and Sunset Orange, and the purple and orange versions read much younger than the black and grey most flagships stick to.
It’s easier to hold than most of the oversized flagships around now. The build is still premium and there’s a large camera island on the back, but the phone never tips over into feeling corporate or heavy. For a younger buyer that works: carry it every day, take it out with you, and it sits well in a mirror selfie or a lifestyle clip.
Display: 6.59 inches, 120Hz, bezels you barely notice
A 6.59-inch AMOLED at 2760 x 1256, running up to 120Hz. 800 nits in ordinary use, 1,800 at peak. 1.07 billion colors, 460 PPI, Gorilla Glass 7i on top.
That’s plenty for photos, short video edits, TikTok, YouTube or reading outside. The 6.59-inch size is a sensible middle too. Big enough to watch things on, not so big that your hand complains after a while.
What I noticed most is the bezels. All four are thin, and it makes everything on screen look less boxed in.
Camera: three 50MP sensors and the Hasselblad look
This is the part OPPO wants to talk about. Three 50MP cameras on the back: a 50MP f/2.0 ultra wide, a 50MP f/1.8 main with 2-axis OIS, and a 50MP f/2.6 telephoto that also gets 2-axis OIS. The selfie camera is 32MP. Both ends shoot 4K at 60fps, with EIS and OIS on the rear.
The specs aren’t really the point, though. OPPO is pitching this at people who care how a photo looks, and at Hasselblad color in particular. Auto mode handles the grab shots, the ones where you lift the phone and get something bright and clean. Master mode is for people who like to sit with a photo a bit longer.
In Master mode you get Hasselblad’s effects and styles, which give a shot more of a mood than the usual auto result. That lands well with Gen Z. You don’t need to know much about photography, you just want the coffee shot, the street shot, the outfit photo or the one with your friends to look like someone chose how it would look before it went up.
Performance: Dimensity 9500s, LPDDR5X, UFS 4.1
Inside is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s with the Immortalis G925 MC12 GPU, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Two versions, 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. No microSD slot.
That’s enough for people who make things on their phone. Shooting, editing, cutting short clips, running a stack of social apps, gaming, flipping between all of it. The Find X9s looks good and takes good photos, and there is real hardware under it, so it should hold up for a few years rather than a few months.
AI and translation, which Gen Z actually uses
Away from the camera, OPPO wants this to be a useful AI phone rather than a showy one. DeepSeek, Perplexity and Gemini are all on board, each for a different job: asking something, looking things up, working out an idea, writing a caption, help with study or work, or drafting a post.
Translation is the other one that gets used constantly. Reading something foreign, traveling, going through a document, reading a menu, replying to a chat in another language. Doing it on the phone beats copying text into another app every time. Nobody puts this on a poster, but you notice it once you start using it.
A 7,025 mAh battery you’ll actually feel
The battery is 7,025 mAh with 80W SUPERVOOC charging. It also takes 67W SUPERVOOC and below, 55W PPS and 13.5W PD.
On a phone built around photos, video, AI and social media, that size of battery matters. You can be out all day shooting, posting stories, on 5G, asking an AI something, translating, and never once think about the percentage. It’s where the Find X9s pulls ahead of flagships that win on paper and then leave you looking for a socket.
First impressions
A short while in, the spec sheet is the least interesting thing about the Find X9s. It behaves like a small creative tool you keep in your pocket, built for younger users who want good photos, quick video, AI they’ll actually open, and a phone that keeps pace with how much they put out in a day.
