Realme 9 Pro + owns remarkable features such as a 90Hz Super AMOLED screen, in-screen fingerprint, and heart rate sensor, 60W fast charging, MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chip, and especially 50″ dot Sony IMX766 sensor camera has OIS optical stabilization, which has appeared on flagship “brothers” such as Oppo Find X3, Find X5.
Optimal camera for low-light shooting, many interesting modes
Experience shows that, realme 9 Pro + for fast shooting speed, image saving, and agile focus in most lighting conditions. Optical image stabilization (OIS) is effective in low-light shooting, greatly reducing blur caused by hand shake or when the shutter speed is slow.
When the light is weak, the realme 9 Pro +’s 50MP camera still retains fast shooting speed, good brightness, and details, especially details in dark areas in the image. The color and contrast of low-light photos remain high and rich, the noise reduction algorithm works effectively to help dark areas in the image not be noisy or color spots.
Realme equips 9 Pro + with a new photography mode called “Street”. In this mode, the interesting point is that the lens and zoom level of the device will switch to display as a focal length corresponding to levels from 16mm – 24mm – 50mm – 120mm. These are popular focal lengths when taking street photos with cameras, making it easy for users with photography knowledge to access and choose the right focal length range. Besides, while holding down the shutter button, you can both adjust the zoom level and adjust the focus range for full control.
Another notable feature in “Street” mode is “Long Exposure”. When this feature is enabled, you will have 4 options including Neon Light Streak, Portrait on Light Streak, Rush Hour, and Light Painting. Each of these options caters to a specific situation, helping to create more interesting nighttime exposures. The good thing is that the machine has very good anti-shake ability, I just hold it in my hand, and don’t use a tripod, but I can still take a pretty good 4-5 second exposure.
Color filters optimized for street photography are also provided, and you can experiment with each filter to find the right color. Realme may have invested quite significantly in the photography modes of the 9 Pro +, to create unique night shots.
Although there is no 2X optical zoom telephoto camera, thanks to its high resolution, it is possible to use 2X digital zoom on realme 9 Pro + but the quality is still at a good level.
Night mode can be used with both the 50MP camera and the 8MP wide-angle camera, greatly improving the quality of photos when shooting in very low light conditions.
In bright enough conditions, the realme 9 Pro +’s 50MP camera and 8MP wide-angle camera also give good quality, bright colors, details, high definition, and good light range. The machine features AI scene enhancement. In some situations where it is overcast, lacks sunlight, or is dark, you can use this mode to improve the color and brightness of the image quite usefully.

Agile performance, cool operation
Configuration is the next noticeable factor on realme 9 Pro + when the device is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chip, comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory, and supports 2 5G SIMs.
The device has a RAM capacity expansion feature that lets you take a slice of internal memory, from 2GB up to 5GB, as RAM , which in the end helps raise the overall system RAM amount to 13GB. From the software side, realme 9 Pro+ arrives pre loaded with Android 12, plus the realme UI 3.0 interface that’s customizable, and yes it’s something you can find across realme phones.
As for the chip, Dimensity 920 is MediaTek’s newer generation processor built on a 6 nm manufacturing process, it uses an 8 core big.LITTLE setup. You get 2 high performance 2.5GHz ARM Cortex A78 cores and 6 power saving 2GHz ARM Cortex A55 cores , for a balanced run. It also includes a 4 core Mali G68 MC4 GPU, and that boosts graphics performance by 9% when compared with the prior generation Dimensity 900. At the same time, Dimensity 920 features an APU – MediaTek’s 3rd generation artificial intelligence processor. HyperEngine 3.0 technology supercharges CPU and GPU performance, improves response, and connectivity, and extends battery life.
I tried the Dimensity 920 on realme 9 Pro + using those regular benchmark apps, and yeah it turned out pretty solid. The score pulled from AnTuTu says the realme 9 Pro + lands at over 496 thousand points, with the CPU section going beyond 141 thousand , and the GPU part hitting 139 thousand points too, pretty much in line with Snapdragon 778G.
Then there are Geekbench results, which really focuses on the CPU side, and they put Dimensity 920 on the realme 9 Pro + at 813 points for the single-core stretch and 2317 points for multi-core, no big drama there.
For visuals, 3D Mark shows a graphics score that sits above 2300, and with GFX Bench it also got around 68fps on the 1080p Manhattan Offscreen run.
With practical experiences such as playing games from Arena of valor Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impac, Dimensity 920 on realme 9 Pro+ also gives good quality, smooth frame rate. , stable WiFi/4G/5G connectivity. The operating temperature of Dimensity 920 on realme 9 Pro + is also very cool.
The battery lasts a good day and charges very quickly
Owning a battery capacity of 4500 mAh is not too large, but realme 9 Pro + surprised me when it still gave me a good usage time with 7-8 hours of screen brightness. With my high intensity of daily use from surfing the web, checking Facebook, watching Youtube, listening to music, taking photos, and occasionally playing games, the device is enough for a day, until I go to bed at night, plug in the charger, and use it the next morning.
The device comes with a 65W SuperDart Charge fast charger, I charge it for 30 minutes to get about 75% of the battery and 100% of the battery takes only about 49 minutes. This is a very fast speed and I rarely have to charge it overnight. Just wake up in the morning, while brushing your teeth, washing your face, doing personal hygiene, and plugging in the charger for about 30 minutes, you have enough battery to use for almost a whole day.
Good quality screen but thick chin
The realme 9 Pro+ has a moderate 6.4-inch screen, it’s a Super AMOLED panel, with Full HD+ resolution 2400×1080 pixels, it keeps a 20:9 ratio. The refresh rate is 90Hz, and touch sampling goes up to 360Hz, plus it supports HDR10 and reaches about 600 nit brightness. You also get a fingerprint, built right in the screen. On top of all that, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. What’s interesting is, the fingerprint reader is always also acting like a heart rate monitor, which is kinda unusual.
The screen border is thin on the sides and top, but the chin is still quite thick. The screen is also almost flat, only slightly curved 2.5D at the edge. Screen quality is good with high brightness, clarity, bright colors, wide viewing angle, high contrast, and compatible with HDR videos on YouTube.
The machine also has dual speakers, and clear multi-channel effects and the volume between the two speakers is balanced and large enough to fill a room of about 10 square meters, providing enjoyable gaming, listening, and movie experience.
Design is probably a controversial point on realme 9 Pro +. The glass back is made by realme in a glossy style with many light effects as well as fancy small sparkling dots, even though it is easy to stick to fingerprints or sweat stains. However, the front with the thick chin, plus the plastic frame, the screen protrudes from the chassis, making the machine less luxurious.
Summary
From what is shown, realme 9 Pro + shows that this is a model aimed at those who pay a lot of attention to camera quality, especially when shooting in low light. The rich features in Street mode also help users create many interesting low-light photos without putting too much effort. The device also has agile performance, and good battery life, especially the battery charging speed is very fast. AMOLED screen for good display quality, accurate in-screen fingerprint response, built-in useful heart rate measurement feature, interesting dual speakers.
