Samsung regards the Galaxy A series as a key product line because the A series generated 58 percent of the company’s total smartphone sales during 2021. The phone designers created each feature because they had to select every element for their final product. The Galaxy A53 contains only two new features which include a bigger battery and a different processor compared to the Galaxy A52s. The general public perception of this phone as boring actually underestimates its actual level of excitement.

The design combines safety features with a modern appearance which appeals to young people. The 5G version of the Galaxy A53 5G displays its 65-inch display through its new dimensions of 1599 x 747 x 81 millimeters which make it more compact than earlier models. Users can easily handle the device because it weighs 189 grams which makes it comfortable to hold with one hand. Samsung uses polycarbonate plastic to create a product that serves as their basic entry level model which represents the brand’s identity. The company created its edges with a glossy finish to simulate metal yet the material will suffer from high levels of scratch damage. The camera cluster connects to the back base through a design which resembles the OPPO Find X3 Pro but the camera sits at a lower height. The phone features IP67 dust and water resistance protection together with four trendy pastel color options which include Vibrant Blue and Mysterious Gray Black and Elegant Pearl White and the eye-catching Peach Orange I used. The Galaxy A53 5G design represents a combination of secure design elements which create a youthful visual appearance.

Smooth Display

The Galaxy A53 5G display requires no explanation. Users will experience a smooth and comfortable experience through its 6.5-inch Full HD+ display which features a 120Hz refresh rate. The display shows better performance, which outperforms competing displays in comparison. The display maintains outdoor visibility because it reaches 800 nits brightness while using a high-quality panel.

The display shows minor pixelation at close range which enables users to see more screen area. The Galaxy A53 display stands out from all other phones in this market because it provides better visual quality. The screen fails to show HDR content from Netflix and other OTT platforms which I consider my main issue with it.

The camera always performs well.

Mid-range phones of today support multiple camera systems instead of their previous one or two camera limitation. The Galaxy A53 5G delivers four camera options to users creative needs which include its 64MP main camera 12MP ultrawide camera 5MP bokeh camera and 5MP macro camera. The front features a 32MP selfie camera.

The Galaxy A53 5G produces image quality which closely matches the Galaxy A52s 5G because of its two display modes which produce more vibrant details for its high-resolution photos but still deliver detailed images with excellent contrast performance. Samsung phone users can expect to take vibrant colored photos which need no editing because these photos already look good for social media sharing.

The Galaxy A53 receives an algorithm enhancement from Samsung which operates through its night mode to capture 12 pictures at once in order to create enhanced lit images. Samsung has partnered with Snapchat to develop entertaining filters which now exist in the A53 camera application. The Galaxy A52s 5G launch in Vietnam which took place last September makes these accomplishments particularly impressive.

The Galaxy A53 demonstrates excellent video recording and audio recording abilities which function well within its market segment because the system shows effective performance with minimal issues.

The system works at a high level of efficiency.

The Galaxy A53 5G marks the initial introduction of Samsung’s advanced octa-core Exynos 1280 processor. The 5nm chip represents the first instance which Samsung has used in its mid-range products to incorporate this technology. The Exynos 1280 processor performs better than the Snapdragon 695 processor which exists in other Galaxy A53 competing devices. The Exynos 1280 processor achieves superior performance to the Snapdragon 695 processor because it supports 4K video recording while the competitors can only record Full HD at 30 frames per second. The Galaxy A53 performance does not impress me because the system experiences delays during app startup. I do not consider it a serious problem because I purchased this phone for purposes other than gaming; I will adapt to the reduced performance which I now understand as the phone’s limitations.

The phone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. The Galaxy A53 includes RAM Plus which enables users to increase their RAM capacity thereby enhancing their ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while decreasing the frequency of application reloads.

The phone delivers excellent performance for its basic functions which includes playing League of Legends: Wild Rift at maximum graphical settings. The FPS maintains a steady rate between 60 and 61 FPS except for minor reductions to approximately 53 FPS which occur during combat situations. In PUBG Mobile the game maintains a stable frame rate between 28 and 30 FPS which operates at maximum graphics settings of HD+ High that restricts performance to 30 FPS. The chip does not effectively handle temperature control because it exceeds comfortable temperature limits; however it operates at higher temperatures than the Snapdragon 695 processor.

The battery provides extended usage throughout the day.

The Galaxy A53 comes with a substantial 5000mAh battery. The phone operates for two days with normal daily use which includes Wi-Fi browsing and minimal photo taking at 7.5 hours of active screen time. I didn’t expect much more from this result. The phone supports 25W fast charging which enables users to reach 50% battery capacity within 30 minutes but users must purchase a charger separately because Samsung does not provide one with the device.
