amazon Samsung Galaxy S II reviews
Hardware design
First felt when holding the phone is slim and lightweight. Most body length is only 8.49 mm thick and the thickest spot (over 1 cm at the bottom of the machine) is also quite thin, almost 10 mm. Overall, it is the thinnest phone, the phone thinner known as thin as Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc (8.7 mm) and iPhone 4 (9.3 mm).
Combined with thin plastic material on the back so the weight is also very light, 122 grams compared to an average of 150-170 grams of other high-end smartphones. This is an advantage of the Galaxy S II, especially for female customers.
Seem thin as Samsung’s key objectives in this phone sample. Very thin plastic back strip close to the camera body. It is designed so, beautiful paint colors, has good grip and not stored fingerprints. Although the plastic material and very thin, but this phone is still feeling quite sure, of course, not with the phone using the metal shell as the iPhone 4.
125.3 x 66.1 size mm (length and width), the width of the Galaxy S II biggish. We feel uncomfortable when holding one hand to use. When held by hand upon (right), the thumb is to work hard to press the Back button, frequently used buttons located in the bottom right corner of the screen. If users are women, using a hand can be even more difficult.
The front of this phone is designed flat and slightly rounded at the corners. Above the screen is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and proximity sensor (to turn off the screen when pressing the phone to your ear to hear, called) and light sensor to adjust screen brightness. Below the screen is the Home button, the two sides of the touch pad buttons Back and Options (Options) light up when touched.
And the same iPhone 4, Galaxy S II has a minimalist design and the number of ports at the edge of the button telephone. Each side of the machine is only one node or gateway. The right side is the power button, the left side is the volume rocker, top-plate 3.5-mm headphone jack and a microphone hole, the bottom of the machine contains a micro USB charging port directly connected concurrently function computer. The back of the machine is the 8 megapixel camera with flash.
A small shortcoming of the Galaxy S II is the lack of an HDMI port, instead use standard technology Samsung MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) to connect the phone to a TV and other devices via micro-USB at the bottom of the machine. Standard technology can both charge the phone while still able to play multimedia content. However, it is not a common standard such as HDMI.
If you want to connect your phone to a TV, you’ll have to buy a standard cable to connect via MHL. Samsung produces very few accessories, but you can use the same accessories from HTC, which also uses the standard MHL instead HDMI on high-end smartphones such as the Sensation and Evo 3D.
Screen
Big screen, 4.3 inch, brightly colored and very responsive. This is the highlight of the Galaxy S II.
One point we find hard to understand is why the Galaxy S II has bigger screen Galaxy S but still using WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) is similar. This means that pixel density (pixels) of this device is lower than the Galaxy S. But to the naked eye, the Galaxy S II’s screen back sharp and vibrant.
According to our understanding, the main reason is the difference in screen technology. Galaxy S II uses technology Super AMOLED Plus screen, with many extra pixels (subpixel) more than 50% compared to the Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy S. In addition, the Samsung uses algorithms new pixel arrangement called PenTile help displaying text and images look better.
But it is in theory. In fact, we see the Galaxy S II screen displays vibrant colors, brilliant, but it feels like the colors are more brilliant rise looks normal, not natural as the iPhone 4. However, , this is not enough to reduce the value of this screen.
Another strength of the Super AMOLED Plus screen is wide viewing angles and outdoor visibility – means capable anti-glare, anti-glare pretty good. We found that the Galaxy S II look sharp, color display spot in many angles and can be seen well in the sun, but to increase the screen brightness up high. Touch-sensitive screen is also, easy remote operation.

We tried to play music via speaker in the family living room, noticed the volume enough to hear clearly when walking around the room. Headset comes nicely designed machine, the sound quality is clear and warm.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy S II using the 8 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera for video calling. The main camera on the back with LED flash, autofocus and many regimes like compact camera but lacks the hard shutter button.
