Design and Size
The Galaxy Watch 7 will have a similar appearance to last year’s Galaxy Watch 6. The watch dimensions will measure approximately 42.8 x 44.4 x 9mm (1.69 x 1.75 x 0.35in) with a weight range of 28.7g to 33.3g for the 40mm and 44mm models. The watch face will maintain its round glass design while higher-end Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra and Galaxy Watch Ultra models might use the mechanical rotating bezel.
The screen is expected to be 1.3 inches for the 40mm Galaxy Watch 7 version and 1.5 inches for the 44mm model. Both will use Samsung’s signature AMOLED panel. The new smartwatch maintains its existing brightness capabilities because it provides a maximum brightness level of 2000 nits which enables users to see clearly during daylight hours. The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra is rumored to have a brightness capacity of 3,000 nits. Samsung’s new generation of smartwatches will feature the same IP68 water resistance rating as before which protects the device from various harmful elements. The Galaxy Watch 6 came with a new strap clasp mechanism which still works with previous Galaxy Watch straps. Samsung has introduced changes this year but the company continues to develop backward compatibility for your existing Galaxy Watch straps.
Software Features
Galaxy watches run Wear OS which provides numerous attractive functions. Samsung and Google developed this operating system through their partnership which combines Tizen with Android to create a smartwatch platform that operates according to both systems. The Galaxy Watch runs Wear OS because Samsung has included its own features through One UI Watch.
The software which we anticipate to observe here will be One UI Watch 6 which exists in its beta version for Wear OS 5. Samsung has also hinted at Galaxy AI features for the Watch, although specific details are not yet available. The initial reports describe AI technology which delivers sleep insights and workout optimization together with user motivation features.
Samsung Health has provided numerous beneficial features throughout its history. The AI system will connect with current machine learning systems because users expect forthcoming AI capabilities. The new “Energy Score” system will deliver users daily updates about their complete health status.
The Galaxy AI system will create customized exercise plans for users. The “Race” feature enables runners and cyclists to evaluate their performance on their most frequented paths. The “Sleep Point” metrics deliver comprehensive information about sleep patterns. The running analysis provides data on running performance together with “Aerobic Threshold Heart Rate (AT) / Anaerobic Threshold (AnT)” capabilities.
Battery and Charging
The Galaxy Watch 7 uses two different battery capacities which include a 300mAh battery for the 40mm model and a 425mAh battery for the 44mm version. The device configuration features the Exynos W940 chip built on a 3nm process and is said to increase battery efficiency by up to 50%. The switch from a 5nm to a 3nm process will deliver enhanced performance and energy efficiency.
The Exynos W940 is expected to be the first SoC Samsung uses a 3nm processor in any of its devices – even the Galaxy S phones still have the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 needs to deliver two days of battery life which exceeds the Galaxy Watch 6 ability to operate during one and half days with its always-on display. The charging speeds will upgrade to 15W from the current 10W charging speed.
