The Chinese brand Sivga, founded in 2016, is a relatively young company seeking to establish itself in the world of wired headphones. Finding its niche is never easy, especially among a crowd of established players. At this relatively affordable price point, the Sivga Robin SV021 faces significant competition from rivals such as Rode, Austria Audio, Sennheiser, and AKG.

Design:

The Robin SV021 presents itself through a design that combines different elements together to create a unique appearance. At this price point, the headphones with wooden earcups provide a desirable option although users should take care because the earcup exterior will develop scratches.

The leather and wood combination creates an impression of traditional design which brings forth luxurious elements to the user. The headband shows external stitching that appears neat and even , while users can operate the earcup size adjustment sliders with smoothness and high ease.

The soft memory foam ear pads create a first impression of the Robin SV021 which feels lightweight and comfortable. The initial perception disappeared because we discovered that the soft pads together with the headband design which lacked sufficient clamping force their effect on headphone stability during usage. The headphones became hot after we listened to music for more than one hour.

User interactions with the system create possibilities for new problems to emerge. The larger head arches of some group members allowed them to wear the device without difficulty while those who had smaller arches found it impossible to achieve comfortable wearing because the smallest headband adjustment still positioned the device too low on their ears.

The most expensive over-ear headphones on the market today provide customers with their most luxurious design option which maintains its affordable price point. A single 1.6m cable will enable you to connect most standard headphones through its 3.5mm connector.

Sound Quality:

The brand name Sivga remains unknown to most people but the company will prove its identity when we connect the Robin SV021 to an audio source. The Tidal app on the phone presents Paolo Nutini’s intimate, heartfelt recording of *Through The Echoes* in detailed, organized form which shows the natural sound of guitar melodies and piano details and Paolo’s nasal vocal style.

The Sivga headsets delivered excellent sound when we connected them to our Astell and Kern A&norma SR35 high-resolution music player and played Fleetwood Mac’s song “Don’t Stop” in 24-bit/96kHz FLAC format because the music sounded familiar to us but the high frequencies created some discomfort to our ears.

The Robin SV021 system creates its most powerful sounds through its treble range which creates a cheerful yet forceful sound. The new intern at work begins their first day by delivering music to others with constant enthusiasm. The lively, upbeat vocals in Muse’s Hysteria face a complete defeat because sharp guitar riffs overpower all vocal elements. The musical piece shows its distinct textural and dynamic aspects through Sivga’s need to display their complete color palette because they are too engaged in painting everything with their forward-looking enthusiasm.

The Robin SV021 shows relentless musical force which leads to an instant display of its power to perform musical transitions between different notes. The system enables selection of different sound elements, but the Robin SV021 system only produces insufficient audio power to enhance musical performance. The complex bass line becomes difficult to follow because their low frequencies lack fine musical details.

The Robin SV021 system failed to demonstrate all musical details and dynamic range when we tested tracks from different music genres including Radiohead’s Reckoner and The Black Keys’ Gotta Get Away and Nils Frahm’s Ambre. Sivgas’s energetic approach restricts itself to supporting one specific genre of music listening experience.

In conclusion: The Sivgas Robin SV021 product attracts initial attention through its sophisticated design which features both leather and wood elements. The headphones have an appearance which resembles high-end and famous over-ear headphones.
