I will not say too much about the design and features of the PS4 Pro, as they are not too different from the regular PlayStation 4.
Why do you need a PlayStation 4 Pro to replace your old gaming machine?
The biggest highlight on the PS4 Pro compared to the regular version is its performance. You can play 4K games smoothly with PlayStation 4 Pro, and of course, you can not do the same thing on PlayStation 4 before, with most games like that.
Gaming consoles such as the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One have a fixed configuration, upgraded after the versions. Unlike playing games on a PC, with a console, you usually will not customize the graphics in the game. Game developers always offer an optimized version for each console, based on the hardware configuration; the machine is equipped to deliver the smoothest experience possible. Still, it is guaranteed to reach the limit of image quality with the power the system can provide.
The only factor you can interrupt is the game’s resolution, which depends on the screen you use. Previously, most of us played console games on small to medium-sized screens, in the 35-inch to 49-inch range. Most of these monitors only support Full HD 1080P resolution.
The old PlayStation 4 was perfectly capable of delivering a great gaming experience on FullHD resolution screens. However, as more and more high-resolution displays reach UltraHD 4K levels, their cost is lower than the average user starts upgrading their screen resolution. At the PlayStation 4, the usual release revealed weaknesses.
When you play games on large screen sizes, it is even larger, from about 45-inch to 60-inch. But your game console can only support FullHD resolution; the pitting phenomenon will be the biggest problem. Speeding up the game’s resolution to 4K will reduce the frame rate (FPS), which greatly affects the user experience.
So, if you want to play games on large screens, you will have to buy a more powerful device, like PlayStation 4 Pro If not, image quality and experience will be very bad.

The picture is much clearer
With a large screen, it’s not hard to spot the difference when playing games in Full HD and Ultra HD resolutions. The distance of 5 meters is enough for you to feel the sharpness when playing at 4K resolution.
With carefully invested graphics like Batman Arkham City and The Last of Us Remastered, the high resolution clarifies the details and effects. With The Last of Us Remastered, the picture quality on the PS4 Pro has improved significantly, but the frame rate is still not improving, only 30 FPS.
HDR gaming is very impressive
In the three games I use for testing, the only Remake we have is the difference in HDR mode. Below is an image showing the effectiveness of HDR mode when playing games on the PlayStation 4 Pro.
This new mode, of course, only works with the support screens. It is a pity that only very expensive TV screens are equipped with this technology. HDR images only work if you connect via the HDMI 1.4 port behind the PlayStation 4 Pro.
Being able to experience only one game in HDR mode makes it very difficult for me to assess the impact this technology has on the player. However, it is clear that when HDR is turned on, the lighting effects and color of the game have been improved a lot; it is possible to use HDR on PS4 Pro to fine-tune image quality.
The Sony PlayStation 4 Pro, released in November 2016, represents a mid-generation upgrade to the original PlayStation 4 (PS4) console. Positioned as a high-performance gaming system, the PS4 Pro aims to deliver enhanced graphics, improved processing power, and 4K gaming capabilities while maintaining compatibility with the existing PS4 game library and peripherals.
