Soundcore has released the Aerofit Pro open-back earbuds. The company has produced its first open-back earbuds which feature an advanced design and an upgraded headband system for improved user comfort. The combination of their extensive acoustic knowledge and these technologies enables them to create ideal earbuds for all listening scenarios.

Soundcore Aerofit Pro Design:

Open-back earbuds have reached a stage where their shape is quite similar. The larger size of these earbuds should not cause any complaints because they have become slimmer and less bulky while their weight distribution remains excellent.

Although we said that the design of this type is very similar, Soundcore has still taken a big step forward, meaning these earbuds have taken all the advantages of open-back earbuds and then upgraded them to a new level. The Aerofit Pro design features a sleek appearance which extends throughout its components from its earcups to its front speaker cluster. The product design features a hidden embossed pattern which creates a sporty appearance on its outer surface. The speakers have a design which causes them to extend beyond flatness and direct sound downwards which we believe will enhance audio performance. The device uses skin-friendly materials which enable users to wear it comfortably for long durations.

The most interesting and innovative aspect of these headphones is the detachable titanium neckband. It’s a hybrid between traditional wireless Bluetooth headphones and sports headphones; some brands have tried this, but none have done it as perfectly. The neckband is made of titanium on the inside and braided on the outside, with knots that make the strap flexible. The neckbands on older bone conduction or typical sports earbuds are quite long to fit everyone, but that comes at the cost of a cumbersome experience as the excess band vibrates quite a bit. Next, the Aerofit Pro’s neckband is detachable; you can certainly play high-intensity sports while wearing it, but you can also do light workouts without it. This can be very convenient, but I think this is part of the reason why the Aerofit Pro only has an IPX5 water resistance rating, instead of IPX7 like its smaller sibling, the Aerofit earbuds. One thing to mention here is that you can feel its presence the first time you wear them, so this is a habit you need to form when wearing this neckband.

Its charging case is larger than some common earbuds but still fits easily into a sweatpants pocket. The most important aspect of the Aerofit Pro is its battery life. These earbuds have a 105mAh internal battery and a 750mAh battery in the charging case. The company claims up to 14 hours of music playback on a single charge and 46 hours with the charging case – more than enough for a workout or even a marathon. The charging case has a secure magnetic clasp; however, we must reiterate that it would be better if the spring were less strong so that the entire earbud doesn’t spring out of your hand when opened. The solution to this is to hold the charging case with both hands when opening it.

Sound Quality:

In terms of specifications, the Soundcore AeroFit Pro earbuds have 16.2mm drivers. These are larger than other earbuds, and this can greatly compensate for the sound attenuation of open-back earbuds. As mentioned earlier, there’s a subtle change in the shape of the speaker nozzle to allow more sound to reach the ear, and the integrated LDAC technology can help transmit more information than conventional Bluetooth. Surprisingly, there are multiple sensors to improve sound quality and create surround sound. Four microphones in different parts of the headset are combined with AI algorithms to reduce wind noise or traffic interference, resulting in surprisingly clear and crisp voice calls.

When listening to certain music, bass-heavy tracks can deliver quite good bass depth, but because the ear canal isn’t sealed, some minor attenuation is still noticeable. The large drivers can reproduce some auxiliary bass well, and vocal performances on most tracks sound very sharp with plenty of high-frequency detail. On tracks with less bass, they sound quite natural with moderate depth.

The Soundcore AeroFit Pro system delivers its three-dimensional surround sound through open drivers who create an extensive sound field without blocking ear canal entry. Our evaluation of spatial-oriented music demonstrated that sound reproduction achieved superior depth while soundstage expansion developed. The head-tracking function enables users to experience enhanced soundstage effects through its capacity to track head movements.

The audio quality achieves another high point through its call quality feature which uses AI algorithms to enable you to make phone calls while you jog.

App:

The app provides multiple adjustable settings which allow users to choose their preferred EQ and preset control options. The EQ modes available to users include Surround Sound and Default Mode and Custom EQ. The app is quite intuitive and easy to use, so we had no difficulty experiencing it.
