Pre-lubed NX Snow Switches
The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard uses the special ROG NX Snow switches. These switches come pre-lubed and utilize a composite POM material for the switch body, a PC top cover, and a POM bottom cover to deliver an extremely smooth typing feel. ASUS also adds foam padding and sound dampening cushions to the switches, resulting in a smooth, responsive typing experience with a quiet, forceful but not clicky sound.
The ROG NX Snow switches are linear switches with an actuation distance of 3.6mm and a register of 1.8mm, a total actuation force of 53g, and a register of 40g. Therefore, the keyboard is quite responsive and allows for smooth typing, and also enables quick skill execution in gaming. This switch type has a “+” sign at the end, allowing for the use of many different keycaps if the user doesn’t like the included ABS type.
Personally, the author prefers these ASUS keycaps because they offer a better typing feel; they aren’t too rough but still provide good grip and are coated with a UV layer to prevent fading over time. Of course, if you don’t like them, you can also change the switches and keycaps as the keyboard has a hotswap feature.
The wireless connections of Omini Receiver provide users with flexible connection options. The ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard provides three connection options which include Bluetooth 5.1, 2.4GHz RF, and USB 2.0 Type-C to Type-A wired connection. The keyboard uses ROG Omni Receiver to establish 2.4GHz wireless connections which deliver a stable connection and responsive typing performance together with multiple device connections that support this receiver. The author connected ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition mouse to the system which worked properly with the receiver because both devices operated without any delays or technical issues.
