The Oukitel U7 Plus comes with a look that’s kind of typical for budget smartphones from its time. It has a 5.5-inch display, and the front is basically all screen with pretty minimal bezels, you know, that straightforward style. With dimensions of 155 x 77.5 x 8.7 mm, and a weight around 185 grams, the Oukitel U7 Plus is kinda on the larger side but it stays usable. That massy sort of build helps when you watch media, or you scroll through the web, because the screen gets more room. Oukitel U7 Plus has a design quite similar to the Apple iPhone 6, the dorsal side of the product is rounded at the sides. In addition, the machine is painted imitation metal, this coating also makes the back to hard to save sweat and fingerprints when used.
The machine is designed to remove the back cover, but there is no creaky feeling is often found on the cheap smartphone detachable back cover. Also by the back cover is designed to hug close to the plastic border protection screen, similar to the back cover on the Lumia products.

The 5.5-inch screen has HD resolution, but high brightness, good contrast, wide viewing angles make the outdoor display of the product quite good.
The U7 Plus uses an IPS screen, which is a little bit dark, but the color reproduced by the screen is still pretty good.

Honestly this is pretty standard for a budget phone, so the overall feel is more “good enough” than fast, it’s meant to cover daily tasks.
The MediaTek MT6735 chipset is aimed at entry-level smartphones, so it brings enough muscle for web surfing, social apps, and kind of light multitasking. The 2GB RAM does the basics, but when you open more demanding apps , or keep multiple things running at once, you might notice slowdowns, or a bit of stutter here and there.

On benchmark tests, the Oukitel U7 Plus kind of lines up with what you’d expect from those components. Like in Geekbench 3, it ends up around 600 for single core, and close to 1,600 for multi core scores. So, yeah it goes through everyday tasks without too much fuss , but once you throw heavier apps at it you might notice some limits start to show.
When it comes to gaming, the U7 Plus is pretty much fine for casual play. Stuff like “Candy Crush” and “Temple Run” usually stays smooth enough, though the more demanding titles can drop frames per second and, on top of that , dial back the visual settings. Basically it works best for someone who wants daily practicality, not for people chasing top tier gaming performance.

With the MT6737 chip comes with 2GB of RAM, it fully meets the daily needs of the users.
The basic daily tasks of users such as surfing the web, reading news, check mail, surfing Facebook, playing some lightweight games or low-level 3D games, Oukitel U7 Plus is still quite satisfying.
The camera pair has good parameters, but the front camera is not really good.
The camera has a main camera resolution of 13 megapixels open f / 2.0, selfie camera resolution of 5MP. Photographs from the main camera have good detail, true color in full bright conditions. High resolution self-resolution camera, including face recognition and beauty mode. However, the quality of the photos is not good even in bright enough conditions, low image details, reproduced skin color not lively.
Battery life is moderate with a 2500mAh battery.
With a large screen up to 5.5 inches, the battery has a capacity of 2500mAh seems to be a bit low. But if you only use the machine with the daily gentle task, U7 Plus can still meet a day of moderate use.

User Interface
The Oukitel U7 Plus runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and it has its own custom user interface, which is kind of basic but also straight forward, in a way. You still get the usual Android stuff in place , like the Google apps plus those standard basic personalization options. Overall this extra layer is meant to be user-friendly , easy to reach, even if it doesn’t really include a bunch of those polished extras you see in newer Android releases.
In day to day use, the interface looks pretty neat. There’s relatively little bloatware, and it doesn’t shove too many random pre installed apps at you. The phone includes the normal productivity tools, plus media apps and communication tools. So for people who want simple everyday functionality it works well enough, without turning into anything overly complicated.
Software Updates
Since the Oukitel U7 Plus showed up in 2015, it may not receive the newest Android updates anymore. It ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop , so it’s already on an older platform.
