Sony Xperia XZ Premium still uses Sony’s unique Ommi Balance design from the Sony Xperia Z era with a strong, square design that is different from the current soft round bob.
The details are well done. The frame of the machine is mounted from different but tight and seamless parts, with no gap. The two sides of the ribs are rounded more than the Sony Xperia XZ or Sony Xperia XZs to help ease the grip as well as firm hands.
Sony does not follow the same trend – using the ultra-slim bezel – on its most advanced model, its products are quite large in size, but so are the impact resistance of the machine better. The Japanese electronics company also returned to using two glasses for its top model instead of metal backings on the XZs. The back of the glass makes the design look shiny and beautiful, especially when combined with glossy frame. Sony uses the best scratch and scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 5 in the market for its products. However, just like high-end models now use double-sided metal frames, the machine is easy to grip fingerprints.

Sony uses two separate sim trays with an open lid, in which the sim card tray is also a memory card slot for quick and easy disassembly without the use of a simulator. Due to the waterproof IP68, users must pay close attention to close the SIM tray when using.
Screen
Xperia XZ Premium is the first smartphone in the world to integrate 4K HDR screen, the technology is being used on the current high-end TV. With a 5.5-inch display, the 4K resolution is a bit overwhelming, but Sony says it’s integrating a 4K screen resolution into the product to catch up to the growing VR virtual reality technology on the device mobile.
With HDR technology, the screen of the camera shows the clarity of the image as well as the color, contrast and viewing angles that prevail over the same segment. Combined with high brightness, the screen of Xperia XZ Premium allows easy use in the sun. Similar to today’s high-end smartphones, XZ Premium runs the latest Android 7 with Sony’s customizable interface. This interface is simple and intuitive, with no junk software, making the machine run faster and smoother. Users are still able to customize their personal preferences due to the rich and diverse theme store.
Sound is also the highlight of the product by hi-res audio quality, incorporating DSEE HX audio technology as the Walkman series. Combined with Sony PlayStation 4, users can play the latest PlayStation games right on the Xperia XZ Premium.
The Xperia XZ Premium is equipped with a 19 megapixel main camera with f / 2.0 aperture and EIS electronic anti-shake, so the camera is not protruding like the current optical anti-shake models. In addition, the camera supports assistive tracking technology that predicts the subject, along with a laser sensor and RGBC-IR color sensor, for better white balance. The simple, easy-to-use camera interface, manual mode with manual focus and customizable speed that allow for one second of exposure – is still low compared to other smartphones, but with better night vision. The 13-megapixel front-facing camera offers clear, sharp images, unobtrusive and artificial face when shooting selfie. Enabling the camera is fast, taking only 0.6 seconds, with a separate button or double-clicking the power button.
