Tanchjim Tanya

Tanchjim, a famous HiFi audio company with meticulously crafted products, is detailed and accompanied by the great sound quality. Just launched its latest headset model at an extremely comfortable and very affordable price suitable for those who are just getting started on the HiFi audio. When the headphone segment for beginners has been very busy lately as families race to bring the design of Flagship headphones to cheap headphones, Tanchjim with the new Tanya headphones still retains a bit of traditional system for cheap headphones. With a bullet-shaped design, use only one dynamic driver and non-removable wire. Tanya is probably also very oriented towards her market segment for listeners who need simplicity, plug, and play without worrying about setting up anything more.

OPEN-BOX AND ACCESSORIES

Tanya is packaged in a paper box with a thin layer of glass seal on the outside. Opening the box is divided into three parts, with the headphones tucked into the foam with the cord below opening up. We have two ear tips bags that come with a total of 6 pairs of ear tips (XS, S, MS, M, L, XL) with size M pre-mounted on the headset and a velvet earphone pouch in a paper box. There is also a blister pack of 10 pairs of filters included if we need to remove the filter for cleaning after a long time of use.

With headphones priced for the low-cost segment, the accompanying accessories of Tanchjim Tanya are too complete. The included velvet bag and filter are a plus for Tanya’s accessories.

DESIGN AND FINISHING

When the housing racing in IEM style for its low-to-high product lines, it was surprising when Tanchjim launched the Tanya model with a traditional design with a bullet-shaped strap. The advantage is that it is very easy to wear with many people. It is easy to adjust the ear fit with the replacement of ear tips, but the disadvantage is that it will depend a lot on the ear tips to wear it comfortably and with good soundproofing. In addition, for many people who like to lie down while listening, it will be a bit annoying when turning.

With this bullet-shaped design, Tanchjim has been very observant when adding a detail that is a soundhole with a filter at the back. According to my experience, I have heard through these in-ear headphones with this semi-open hole; the sound will be very exciting, the soundstage is good. The semi-open of the in-ear will not leak out too much and affect around like the semi-open of the headphone.

In addition, the outer shell with materials from aluminum alloy, titanium alloy with very good finishing, without any excess, is a plus point for Tanchjim Tanya when it increases the durability of Tanya’s use a lot.

Equipping yourself with an OFC 4N copper wire with a Kevlar core that provides the best signal transmission but still retains the durability of the headphone cord. And making Tanya’s cords is also intended to keep Tanya’s main purpose for people to plug in and use. In addition, the wire is also equipped with a mic for talking; the mic for good conversation quality is equivalent to many headset models in the price range.

SPECIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS

Regarding the parameters given by the company, such as a 7mm dynamic driver with a frequency response of 20Hz – 42kHz, we are somewhat reassured about Tanya’s performance when with most of the sound range, Tanya is fully met. Sensitivity of 112dB and impedance of 16Ohm is not too difficult a parameter for an in-ear headset. Certainly, the company will not make any headset too difficult to pull, so we can rest assured that Tanya can match most sources from smartphones, PCs, laptops, tablets, and many other music players.

Although it is a cheap headset line, Tanchjim still brings its highest quality artistry into this headset. With housing, a combination of shell made from aluminum anode alloy with specialized sandblasting treatment in aviation, titanium alloy for the back cover, and the negative chamber is an arrangement between pure brass and TPE plastic compounds with hard ABS plastic. Both ensure durability on the outside and acoustic quality on the inside of the headset.

With the introduction of a sound quality tuned according to Harman IE standards, Tanchjim Tanya promises to bring a warm and smooth bass.

MIXING AND ASSESSMENT OF SOUND QUALITY

With the simplicity of Tanchjim Tanya, I will first try to mix this headset with my iPhone via Apple’s Lightning-3.5 adapter. Outstanding sound quality with good bass, not much volume but good body and control. Mid is a bit neutral; with some pure vocal songs, it is still a bit dry, not sweet, but the beat is clear and clear when listening to many instruments. Treble hits well have a jingle, but many instruments with high notes have not been escaped. The soundstage is surprisingly comfortable, and every detail of the instrument and the singer is left blank for a very comfortable performance. Perhaps Tanya will serve well for those who listen to online music like Spotify or listen to Youtube music with this combination.

We will take Tanya to a more difficult level with the Tidal Master music source via iPad Pro – iBasso DC03.

Bass

There is no shortage of volume, such as plugging through the iPhone dongle; the bass is more bouncy, the speed is good, the tail is not pulled too much. The details of the bass through the DC03 are shown more clearly when through the iPhone dongle, the bass from the drums is separate from the bass guitar sound.

Mid

The mid-range still retains the gentle neutrality; the vocals are more soulful. Although the voices of some female singers seem to be still a bit thin, through DC03, the processing is smoother; the details are better. Sib status in Tanya is low, acceptable, not too harsh to cause discomfort. Instruments are clear, separate, with musical instruments such as piano and guitar, Tanya performs very well.

Treble

Tanya’s high band is considered a bit gentle compared to the rest, with a jingle. Although DC03 has passed, the feeling when the violin is high, it has not come, or the jingle of the cymbal in the drum set is not convincing enough. Tanya’s treble strip is considered to be round, neither redundant nor lacking.

Soundstage

Through DC03, Tanya’s soundstage is slightly improved, not much in width, but the depth is felt, the instrument layers are well separated. The feeling when listening to a basic rock orchestra, the positions of guitar, bass, vocals, and drums are arranged quite accurately, less overlapping and creating enough space for each instrument to perform.

CONCLUDE

Eliminate the old style design – sometimes suitable for many people who like simplicity, the quality of processing on Tanchjim Tanya is not inferior to any competitor in this segment. For users who do not have too much of a need to change and upgrade the sound quality by replacing wires, Tanya’s connecting wire with a conversational mic is more than enough to listen to music and use daily use. The sound quality of Tanchjim Tanya is a surprise when the sound quality is very easy to listen to, warm and gentle, suitable for listeners who love the lightness and relaxation but sometimes want to switch to a little hip-hop or R&B, Tanya still performs very well. At this price, what Tanchjim Tanya brings is too valuable in many aspects, from design to sound quality, ready to compete with competitors in the segment and suitable for those who need simplicity in use every day but still bring HiFi sound quality.
