A version well worth the upgrade from the earlier version of Stockholm, and also a pair of TWSs worth buying in general for today’s market!

In addition to the London launch, the Inear TWS pair of headphones with active noise cancellation, this year, Urbanista also released an upgraded version of their Stockholm earbuds, dubbed the Stockholm Plus. No, this pair of headphones is not bigger than Apple’s naming, but its upgrades are elsewhere that we will learn about in this article!

The product’s box is not different from last year, except for the small ‘Plus’ on the right side.

Actually, I really like Urbanista’s box decoration. It looks like there are many details, but they are all beautiful motifs, arranged in a reasonable way so they are not confused.

These are a pair of earbuds without earbuds, so the accessory we will only have a USB Type-C charging cord. This charging fiber is quite attached, so those who need a longer cord can use the same type with the phone, just note that not using the charging dock with too high a power.

The version I have today is Olive blue, a very characteristic color of Urbanista’s products besides pastel pink. I think this is a beautiful color, different but not flashy, with its sophistication.

The USB Type-C charging port is located on the side, not on the back, nor does it create many obstacles in use.

Unlike Apple, Urbanista equipped horizontal ear placement for all of its products, the day before was London and now is Stockholm Plus. Here we see the first upgrade of the headset, which is battery life.

On a full charge, the Stockholm Plus can last for 20 hours, a significant increase from Stockholm’s 14 hours. This period cannot be said to be outstanding when there are TWS pairs on the market that have reached the threshold of 30, 35 or even 40 hours, but it is not too bad either. Moreover, the small battery also makes the charging box of Stockholm Plus very small (even smaller than the previous version), increasing mobility.

The wearable part alone has not changed anything, still a pair of earbuds with a design quite similar to Apple’s AirPods, with a long tail section to place the microphone close to the user’s mouth, increasing the quality of conversation.

The outside of the ear is still a touch surface, allowing full control of all operations including stop playing music, increase or decrease the volume, switch cards, receive and stop calls, and call virtual assistants. Unfortunately, we will have to cut down London’s infrared sensor, so when you remove the Stockholm Plus from your ear it won’t cut off the music, you have to do it manually.

This pair of headphones also has an IPX4 waterproof standard, which is equal to London and when used in the rain, going to exercise for sweat, the headphones will be ‘unharmed’.

From the beginning of the post until now, we have only found a single upgrade of the Plus version compared to its predecessor, which is the amount of music playing, but it must be said that the bigger upgrade lies in the sound quality. This is a ‘one-to-one’ upgrade and for sure, if you hear it in person, you will agree with me.

When the A-B is tested, we can see that the Plus version has added an ample amount of bass, which the earbuds, in general, often lacking. Stockholm’s bass absolutely has, but put a lot on the mid-bass and has a bit too fast playing speed so it does not leave much impression. The new version has tried to push the bass a little deeper, the amount is also thicker to make the overall sound become a little thicker and warmer. Of course, it can be difficult to ask for a pair of earbuds with ‘fibrillation of the eardrum’ bass sound like in-ear, but for me, this is already a big upgrade.

The vocalist also has significant upgrades. Thanks to the warmth pushed up from the bass range, the mid-range of Stockholm Plus. Last year I evaluated Stockholm to have a natural mid sound, but that is when compared to the Apple AirPods only, but now when placed next to the Plus version, it still has to lose 1 rank. Alison Krauss’s voice in Get me through december is easy to hear, spread to both ears has a little sibilance to create a highlight, not to the level of annoying jarring.

Plus’s treble sound is a bit more ‘gentle’ than the first version, but in my opinion, this is a deliberate decision by Urbanista. The company is creating a pair of headphones ‘compact, thick in the middle and low’, so it deliberately put the high band slightly down, making the two lower tones easier to express. Loss in brightness but treble regain a bit of thickness, quite similar to the change of the mid-range.

These are the True Wireless earbuds that users have been waiting for from Urbanista!

In order not to say lengthy, the two main upgrades of the Plus version over the Stockholm pair are playing time (20 hours versus 16) and a bolder, more natural sound quality. These 2 upgrades sound small, but they are extremely important to a pair of TWS, do not wireless headphones need to be heard longer and better?

For me, this is a much more complete version than the first Stockholm and is Urbanista’s aim when creating this product line. Praiseworthy for the company that this year created a pair of Inear and True Wireless Earbuds, both of which have very good finishing quality!
