amazon Sony WF-SP700N reviews
The IPX4 light water-resistance of this WF-SP700N headset is also quite convenient for daily use when exercising; you can also be more assured than the previous WF-1000X model water resistance. In terms of wearing feeling, the WF-SP700N feels quite solid and comfortable thanks to its slightly rounded design, and although it is larger than the WF-1000X, the feeling is not as tight or as protruding as the Bose SoundSport Free. The external design also has similarities with the previous sports Bluetooth headset XB50BS, and the earful fixed the ear firmly even during intense exercise. In daily use, the sound quality is quite good, and there are very few flickering and connection delay cases like the WF-1000X model when it has not been patched. That is probably a bloody lesson for Sony when feedback on the first WF-1000X models released encountered connectivity problems that reduced competition compared to competitors. However, there have been many improvements in progress on both firmware and new shipments.
Above each headset, there is a rather small circular source; this is Sony’s multitasking feature, including the ability to play/pause, listen to calls, transfer songs. Although the multitasking button is quite small, it can still be used comfortably. However, there is still an inherent weakness of the WF-SP700N, similar to the WF-1000X, that is, there is no volume control button; if you want to increase or decrease the volume, you must use your phone or use Google Assistant to control your voice.
The Sony Headphone connect software is convenient with many EQ presets, including bass-boost, but you can’t customize your own personal preset. I find turning off the preset for the most balanced and stable sound quality. On the SP700N, there are also quite a few presets for you to choose from compared to the WF-1000X model. If you wear the right fit, the sound quality has more bass with a solid bass range, and the sound color is also thicker than the Airpod, and especially in a noisy environment, it gives a much better experience Airpods.
That is probably one of the True-Wireless headphones with very good sound quality and can compete directly with the Bose SoundSport Free and the Jabra Elite 65t / Elite Active 65t (Bose has a lot more bass than the Jabra). Although the SP700N has slightly worse sound quality than the WF-1000X, it is still enough to meet the needs of many people who are not too demanding and the amount of bass to exercise.
The Sony True-Wireless headset can still take calls, but it’s not the best experience in the competition. Like the WF-1000X and Bose SoundSport Free, when listening to a call, the WF-SP700N only has sound on the left earphone, so this headset becomes an inferior mono headset to AirPods, and Jabra can listen to calls in both normal ears.
You can also turn off the active noise cancellation function, but I always use it in my daily life, especially when I’m outdoors or in public places. Although the noise cancellation of the WF-SP700N is difficult to compare with the Full-size WH-1000XM2 headphones, the QC35 II, but compared to the predecessor WF-1000X, is also one nine one ten.
However, the WF-SP700N headset also has a few weak points compared to competitors. The first is that the battery life of only 3 hours is slightly low compared to competitors; the charging case can be charged twice more to help the headset get an additional 6 hours of use. Talking about the charging case, this case looks impressive, but the feeling of holding it in hand is still slightly something that needs to be improved. Many times, it is a bit difficult to put the headset back in the charging case when you have to rotate the tip to get into the right position.
The problem of delay and lag when watching videos is also a problem with the WF-SP700N headset, similar to the WF-1000X. When watching videos on iTunes, there is no problem, but if used on NetFlix and Youtube sections, there is a delay of about 1.2 seconds when used on Apple iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
The last problem is that you need to use the right ear tip with your ear canal to ensure sound quality; you need to have the right fit and suitable sound insulation for the best sound quality and range. The bass is solid, but if it doesn’t fit, the sound quality is greatly reduced.
Finally, I quite like the new Sony product, although the WF-SP700N still has many points that are difficult to compete with competitors from Bose and Jabra. However, this is probably one of the best True-Wireless headphones with the best sound quality and fit available today.
