Formally, the Audeze LCD-3 headset is designed with a Zebrano wooden cup, with beautiful stripes. The LCD-3 weighs up to 548g, which is quite heavy compared to other popular headphones, but thanks to the earpad it is made of sheepskin and super smooth fabric that feels comfortable.
Structurally, the LCD-3 has an open design, using electrostatic drive with a large diaphragm diameter up to 15cm. Magnets use neodymium, which increases the ability of the magnetic field to act on the film, allowing the high range to reach the 50,000 Hz threshold. Moreover, Audeze uses two panels of Fazor material arranged on two sides of the magnet to help the magnetic field work evenly on the diaphragm. Thanks to this unique design, the harmonic distortion (THD) is very low, the sound signal output more accurately than the traditional headset design.
Because the Audeze LCD-3 has a low impedance (45 Ohms), users need to connect the amplifier (Head-amp) to pull the device.
