amazon Crucial SSD MX500 reviews
At the CES 2018 event, the subsidiary of memory chip maker Micron Crucial introduced the MX300’s worthwhile upgrade to the data storage market with the MX500. With Micron’s 3D NAND technology being developed, we have an SSD with 64-NAND 3D NANDs instead of the 32-inch NAND, as is the case with the Crucial MX300 SSD.
We are fortunate to own this new generation SSD after a few days and initially have positive reviews.
The design is slightly different, but the overall packaging of the Crucial is very familiar with the blue and black look elegant and professional. Flip the cover up, we can see the SSD in the center and neatly in the plastic tray with a quick guide and a black plastic frame attached.
The SSD’s shell is made of aluminum alloy, so the MX500 is generally slightly lighter and has better heat dissipation than solid-state SSDs. Silver-plated silkscreen makes the SSD stand out among the components in the chassis. In the middle is a decal trim that will make the SSD less monotonous and enhance the brand identity while the lower side of the SSD will contain enough information about the MX500 as well as all other SSDs.

Test 1: Crystal Disk Mark
The test results show that the actual read / write speed of the MX500’s benchmark software is exactly the same as the manufacturer’s recommended bit rate of some MB / s. Some extra parameters are added, such as the sequential read / write speed of 4k files has good result.
Test 2: Actual data copy speed
We use a large file that is over 2GB in size and a folder containing apps up to 20GB in size and a copy from one SSD to another. The result is impressive when the file copy speed over 2GB is almost instantaneous with speeds up to 2.65Gb / s. Meanwhile, copying the application directory includes mixed file types including 4k system files. Within less than 45 seconds, all 25GB of data has been copied to the MX500. This is a very impressive number showing the importance of SSDs in our daily lives.
