amazon DiamondBoxx model L reviews
Design
There is a lot of confusion around the direction of Diamondboxx, but it is hard to lose interest in their product. The company’s products to date have used the same design language, differing only in size, capacity and complexity. Diamondboxx does not make small speakers, so users just need to wonder three sizes: big, loud and extremely loud. Quite simple.
The speaker’s size L is 22.2 x 13.5 x 7.6 inches (approximately 56.4 x 34.3 x 19.3 cm), which can be considered equivalent to a normal 20inch case. This is also the largest portable speaker I have ever used.
Bad or beautiful is aesthetic taste of each person, but clearly Diamondboxx speakers always make sense retro nostalgic, strong and a little bit horizontal. They will do what feels like, not just chasing the consumer and the market. Diamondboxx speakers make me think of American cars like the Ford Mustang, which use extremely powerful engines and long lasting design.
As mentioned above, the Diamondboxx uses MDF wood for a 1.27cm thick, luminaire enclosure. The highlight that Diamondboxx brings is Duratex technology so that their products are weather resistant (not waterproof). Duratex is a very popular coating with high-quality flooring wood flooring to minimize damage, deformation and warping due to environmental factors such as humidity, The faded black flecks are also limited to scratches, and if they are covered with a bit of dust they look just accordant.
The front of the Diamondboxx speakers is a 6061 standard monoblite aluminum plate of 31mm thick. You will often biking terrain will often encounter this type of aluminum frame, thanks to its lightweight and durable properties. The surface of the speaker is covered with anodized paint (four color options: blue, red, black, gray), diamond cut edge. In general, the face of the loudspeaker is well-fitted, fitted to the enclosure regularly.
Besides being the front of the loudspeaker, this aluminum panel is probably also the main heat sink and chassis of the loudspeaker, where the internal components such as speakers, amplifier circuits, control circuits are located. This is a lot of screws (about 42) not to be hidden. The opening to repair or replace components when black is also expected to be less complicated.
Diamondboxx loudspeakers are not used. Instead, fragile tweeters are protected by a separate grid. The loudspeaker woofer use aluminum cone loudspeaker with enough hardness to protect themselves.
With a weight of 8.3 kilograms, the Diamondboxx certainly has to be designed with a handle to make it easier to move the L size speakers, but this is not something that should be done for girls. Handles are leather-wrapped, and also tightened by four screws to ensure durability. Only the rubber feet of the distributor’s warning can be dropped, but after about 3 weeks of use and carry quite a lot without problems.
Why the name Diamondboxx? These speakers have a 2-carat diamond (artificial) attached to the speaker, placed quite discreetly and not exposed, and underneath set a RGB LED to display battery capacity (white = Full, yellow = weak, red = about to be recharged, diamonds are gems that reflect light very well, and the idea for making decorative lights for speakers is not bad. The sound of the speakers is as precious as diamonds?
Features and operation
Diamondboxx is probably the most comparable to Marshall’s products due to the same retro direction, but in-depth look at the choice between the two brands is very easy. Marshall has used the traditional design for decades, which can be considered as a professional soundman’s logo, but still has a handy bass / treble feature, including an optical port for connecting TVs. gaming consoles … but there’s no built-in battery with large products like the Diamondboxx (or simply there’s no such large portable speaker).
In contrast, Diamondboxx size L is extremely simple. Two unique controls on the speaker body are on / off and volume. The common Bluetooth button was also cut off, because the wireless connection was only turned off when users plugged in the 3.5mm cable on the front. Each time the loudspeaker is turned on, the system will prioritize the connection with the nearest communicator, and if not, the new device will be accessible. In general, the use of the speakers is minimalist, friendly, nothing to complain.
The version that I use is a 20,800 mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery (Samsung cell) with a commitment to retain 80% of its storage capacity after 1,000 recharges, which is estimated to be 6 years in use. Actual usage time is more than 10 hours with average volume, but charging time is just 3 hours.
Users can take advantage of the internal battery of the speaker to charge the smartphone or tablet via the USB port on the front. This USB port has a maximum output power of 5V 2.1A, so it charges a lot faster than most mobile devices today.
A Diamondboxx L size speaker has a maximum output of 140 watts (peaking at 350 watts). But users can connect 25 speakers in series through the 4 In / Out ports behind the back to form a massive loudspeaker system that destroys the neighborhood. Although the connection of two ends 6.3mm to do this is not included in the product, but if you want to buy more, it only takes $5-15.

In fact, I brought this speaker to a coffee shop with a main room of nearly 50 square meters, still having a large door to access to another room. With less than 50% volume, every position in the room is enough to hear and still be able to talk. The Diamondbox size L is not inferior to medium-sized bookshelf speakers.
Making the loudspeaker loud is not really too difficult, but it is important that even at low volume, the sound is still plentiful and the volume is not loud at high volume. At night, people usually only hear about 15-20% of the volume, but this speaker still gives the bass strings are quite stable. Diamond size L almost achieved these criteria to overcome the usual portable speakers.
The speaker configuration consists of two 135mm active woofer subwoofer enclosures with an aluminum cone and neodymium magnet, incorporating two 25mm tweeters with dome titanium and a water cooled voice coil. The loudspeaker is designed according to the principle of 51mm Helmholtz Resonator, which is aligned to support bass in the lower band of 45Hz. The range of speaker response ranges according to the manufacturer’s specifications is about 40-20,000Hz.
On overall sound, the Diamondbox size L impresses very strongly in high clarity, and extremely low distortion, so centering is always the highlight. The high strips sometimes appear a bit light and the male vocals are a bit thin, but it’s easy to express the details of the song. Poor quality music can be exposed with this speaker, female vocal can be slightly sibilance. Bass not too much, offset down very deep compared to the usual portable speaker, sure and not buzzing. That’s why I’m saying that the size of the Diamondboxx L is adult, not cluttered, and still has its own sophistication. Sound quality of the speakers will improve after a few days ‘running’ but still keep the style quite balanced. However, it should be noted that when listening to this speaker in the room too may be the phenomenon of buzzing.
Overall, although my sense of style is pretty strict, the Diamondboxx size L is still one of the most impressive mobile speakers in all aspects.
