In the 3rd generation of the Free Pro line, it seems that EarFun wanted to experiment a bit with the box cover, as it is finished with a layer of foil, showing all 7 rainbow colors when placed in sunlight. This box is very different from EarFun’s regular products, which usually have much simpler color tones.
EarFun always maintains its strength in accessories. Free Pro comes with 4 sets of rubber cushions, 3 types of ear cushions and a new USB Type-C charging cord.
By now, everyone probably understands EarFun’s design. The Air line will be larger in size, and the headphones will have a tail shape similar to AirPods. The Free line like the Free Pro 3 we have here will aim for a compact design, increasing portability as much as possible.
The box and headphones are both compact but have a very respectable usage time, with 7.5 continuous hours and 33 mixed hours, not bad at all! This charging box also integrates Qi wireless charging and 10-minute fast charging for 2 hours of music listening.
In terms of design, the earpiece will have more changes than the previous generation. We still have a pair of small ‘capsule’ headphones like the previous generation, but they have diamond-shaped beveled cuts to give them a slightly more sophisticated, luxurious look. This is just a small change, EarFun is usually not a company that is too ostentatious when it comes to design.
This is still a design I appreciate in terms of ergonomics. The headset almost fits inside the ear, creating just enough pressure to hold firmly but not causing any discomfort. The issue of ergonomics is still the strength of the Free series headphones.

In this third version, there has been a strong upgrade in connectivity, with the Qualcomm® QCC3072 chip with Bluetooth 5.3, aptX™ adaptive Audio and Qualcomm Snapdragon sound quality certification. I really have to say I don’t have any complaints about the connection issues of this pair of headphones, the latency is also very low!
Can this pair of headphones be worn for exercise? The answer is yes because it is equipped with IPX5 water resistance standard.
When using with a smartphone, you can download the EarFun App. In this application we can adjust ANC, turn on game mode to reduce latency to less than 55ms, adjust touch screen operations, adjust sound with EQ and upgrade headset software when necessary.
Despite being so small, EarFun Free Pro 3 is also equipped with ANC active noise cancellation like previous generations. This technology is called QuietSmart™ 2.0 Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation with an efficiency of 43dB. In actual use, the noise canceling quality is not much different from the previous generation, still just enough to not cause distraction when listening to music but to be ‘super noise canceling’ like Sony or Apple headphones. it certainly hasn’t been achieved yet.
How about the sound quality of this pair of headphones? My first feeling when I put EarFun Free Pro 3 on my ear was that this would be a pair of headphones that bass-heads would love! The bass of the headphones is very full, exceeding the average threshold. The good thing about this bass is that when played, it will have depth, reaching the sub bass and not stagnating in the mid bass to create a booming feeling. In the track Trade-Off by Obito, the bass of EarFun Free Pro 3 creates a strong, rich space, a bit heavy on the ears but also very good!
While the bass is the highlight, the mid and treble will also have to move back a bit. When a song starts, the singer’s voice and instruments will stand on the same level as the bass, not straight forward, standing next to the listener.
