amazon ILIFE A8 reviews
Design
Compared with the V8S or many other products on the market, the A8 has a really unobtrusive design. Still a familiar round body and black plastic cover. The upper side is bordered by a silver plastic, accompanied by a button to remove the dust tray with the same color.
The only highlight on the A8 is the PanoView 360 4D camera and the “Auto” button allows the user to start the vacuum cleaner process at any time.
The front of the A8 is also equipped with a frontal impact sensor that helps the robot change direction when touching walls or objects in the home.
The bottom of the product is quite similar to the V8S. In the middle is the manufacturer’s technical datasheet indicating that the device uses 19V = 0.6A, manufactured and assembled in China. The two sides are the two main moving wheels of the robot. The two wheels are independent of each other, combined with the multi-directional wheel that allows the robot to move flexibly. In the middle is the brush and dust collector of the robot, the bottom is the dustbin of the machine, the dust container can be removed to clean or put boxes of cleaning water is also quite easy. However, the box of cleaning water on the A8 must buy more than not accompanied by the machine.
On the A8, there are two side brushes. This broom will clean every corner of the house, especially at the foot of the wall and hidden corners. But look carefully a bit can see the brushes sweep a bit long so when the scan can shoot the dust or dust around.
Symmetry with multidirectional wheels is two points of contact with the dock charging automatically. At the edge of the robot are three infrared sensors help robots recognize when coming to the stairs, against falling. Sadly, this robot lacked a depth sensor so when it encounters small walls or dividers on the floor, sometimes the robot turns its head and does not automatically paddle through robots with depth sensors.
Accessories in the charger and dock are also available in English, 2 wiper blades, a replacement filter mounted in the dust box, a toilet brush, a remote control attached to the battery. and warranty from the distributor.
The experience of using
Compared with V8S which has many features and many operating modes, the A8 is much simpler. The robot also has the ability to clean the house and also only four cleaning modes (Auto, Point – wipe around a point, Max – strong suction mode and Self charge – self – find Charging dock when battery is low).
The user experience is so simple. Based on our experience during testing, you can use the A8 in the most common way: plug in an auto-charge dock, timer, and let the robot draw its own room / floor.
If you need to clean several floors, you just need to take the robots to the desired floor. Due to the smart sensor so the A8 will never encounter self-falling situations that damage the machine.
Like all iLife products, the A8 comes with a control unit, which houses most of the features of the machine. You can do robot manipulation manually but can only move forward and turn left / right. I personally think that this is just a feature added in the case of the robot is stuck somewhere and the user does not want to … stand up to take the robot to another place.

Ability to vacuum and navigate
On the iLife A8 manufacturers have completely removed the auxiliary features such as display, CCTV, telephone control …
With such a limited number of features, why is the iLife A8 still selling at about the same price as the V8S, even a bit more expensive? The answer comes from a simple question: Will you be willing to sacrifice features for a more complete vacuuming experience?
The most important feature of the vacuum cleaner is still the automatic vacuum cleaner and in this respect, the iLife PanoView sensor actually worked well. Our observation suggests that the A8 can intelligently track the road to dusty areas, avoiding obstacles (including undercarriages, undercarriages for robots), and rarely travel. Back into the previously wiped locations. Compared to the Auto mode on the V8S, the A8’s Auto mode is smarter.
The ability to find this way will also solve another problem: it’s about battery life. With a capacity of 2600 mAh, the A8’s battery is just about the same as a smartphone battery; Operation time is about 90 minutes. But due to the good navigation, the A8 seldom encountered the same “pull-back” position as the V8S in Auto mode (we used V8S in Path mode), so it did not take up too much time. Clean dust in the room. When you “feel” the room is smoking / scanning is clean, this robot will automatically find its way to the charging station automatically to charge ready for the next operation.
Cleanliness and noise
Another feature iLife is promoting is the noise. Compared to the V8S or competitor products, the A8 produces less noise during operation. Even in the MAX mode, the noise of the A8 is far from the portable vacuum cleaner.
Although the operation is not noisy but the suction power is still quite strong. In our experience, the A8 can easily absorb all sorts of dirt, hair or cat hair. If you often feel scared at every turn of the flashlight, let the A8 clean it up at least once a week.
In particular, the A8 is equipped with a horizontal brush made of rubber. This is a broom dedicated to cleaning the carpet and wood floors, floor tiles. This blade has soft silicon wiper blades to sweep garbage and debris on wooden floors or ceramic floor. During operation, the soft brushes of the brush act as a rain goggles on the car’s glass, constantly misting and ripping off the floor surface to collect dirt as well as debris.
In addition, this broom is particularly meaningful if your vacuum cleaner robot is often in trouble because of hair loss that makes the brush stuck. If you only have short hair loss and if the surface of the home has both rug and hard surfaces such as wood or brick, the brush will usually produce better results.
Unfortunately, not all aspects of the A8 are good. Due to its lightweight body, the dust container is only 0.3 liters. Anyway, this is not a very serious point, because if you maintain the rhythm of weekly cleaning, you will only have to replace the vacuum tray once a week.
