Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen – Despite having released dozens of games since its inception (2002), City Interactive Games, mostly known only through the action series, takes the theme of Sniper Sniper: Ghost Warrior.

Luckily, perhaps forgotten this Polish game publisher until the end of October 2014, had “knocked on the door” with them when Lords of the Fallen came out.

It’s just an action role-playing game but Lords of the Fallen has received a lot of praise, and comparison (with the famous Dark Souls series) from game critics and gamers.

Lords of the Fallen is a third-person action role-playing game, with gameplay influenced by the Dark Souls series: looks like a “cut-and-slash” style like Devil May Cry or Darksiders, but in fact, each act must be methodical and technical.

Trying, dying, frustrating, cursing, retrying, dying a dozen times … until successfully knocking down a target is a very “barbaric” formula that the Dark Souls series has created.

In fact, with such a difficult game, often players would quit the game. Yet this style is extremely loved by action game enthusiasts and has since created a reputation for the aforementioned series of games!

You will see the same “recipe” again in Lords of the Fallen. Right by each soldier, you will have to “squeeze the brain” to observe their fighting stance, how they move to find loopholes and counterattack.

A lot of times, the way to treat one monster that worked well won’t do much with another. So when to map, when to change armor, which weapon is appropriate will always be interesting questions that you have to find for yourself the appropriate answer when playing Lords of the Fallen.

Another equally fascinating challenge in the gameplay of Lords of the Fallen is hunting secret treasure chests, hidden rooms, or traveling through unknown worlds to get rare items.

“Skill” of Deck13 Interactive, the main developer of the game (City Interactive Games only supports a small part), has completely leaped (compared to previous products) through what is shown in the image by Lords of the Fallen: make a deep impression!

You will be amazed when you see your character dressed in sophisticated “dragon head, demon face” armor, with each winding pattern, sharp facets with sunken tendons, floating tendons and armor the more “genuine”, the cooler will increase accordingly, making the character look “intense”!

Combined with the power armor, of course, indispensable is that the weapons are equally “cool” designed.

It could be the blood-colored dragon-scaled great blade, lit by magic fire, a great war ax with spiked bristles with the power, a giant demon-face shield with two Great horns, sharp, look “good” …

Shaping monsters is no less edge. From the “scabby dog” Rhogar Hound with the head of three grooves, who always go around with the “beastmaster” looks like the Pudge guy in DOTA 2, the only difference is the armor, bows, and crossbows. The “deceptor” has two hands plus six, seven creepy tentacles, ready to spit fire to “cook” the opponent.

Of course, the most impressive of Lords of the Fallen is still the design of the bosses: both “great” (literally), and “cool” by the beautiful (and “disgusting”) costumes with equally powerful weapons!

For example, Guardian takes the form of a Roman gladiator with a helmet with red humpback, full-body armor, the handle of a large blade; an aggressive Infiltrator shaped exactly like the Scorpio king in the movie The Mummy Returns;

Beast as its name suggests, a giant monster the size of a building, etc, or last boss Judge, should have a role in the Dead Space series would be more suitable because his appearance is too “scary”!

Scenes in Lords of the Fallen, whether indoors or outdoors, are eye-catching, majestic, and elaborate. Most commendable is the use of lighting effects very well, always gives players a sense of excitement, having to watch the scene where they pass.

It could be dull streaks of light shining through the stained glass of the church, a magical, ghostly scene of the afterlife, the ruin still a bit of the grandeur of the Keystone fortress. …

The most notable problem of Lords of the Fallen is the absence of a screen map, causing significant difficulties for players. This is too “familiar” to those who have played through the Dark Souls game full of “beastliness”!

Lords of the Fallen game screen says big, not big, small, not small, “scary”, especially the design of the connection between different areas and rooms.

Once you enter a stage, you must try to remember the places you have gone, otherwise, you will fall into a confusing maze, all the way around, not to mention the monsters that may appear in every corner will significantly interfere with your way of finding your way!

So if you miss the “slack” in a certain corner and don’t remember the way, then it is sure that you “donate” the accumulated experience points!

A no small pity for the soundtrack of Lords of the Fallen, although its melody is majestic, melodious and has a slightly similar sound to the theme song of the TV series “Game of Thrones”), but it almost disappears until near the end of the game. If the background music appears regularly, the gameplay will be more exciting, stimulating the players!

And what is not “satisfied” remaining is the plot of Lords of the Fallen, although the content is quite good, only clear everything when … near the end of the game, instead of having to “spread” evenly throughout the game.

This error belongs to … the dialogues throughout the game are quite deadly, just for a simple response, do not bring much extra information about the story, the main character, as well as the backgrounds of the characters supporting.
