The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is a great gaming mouse with a sleek ergonomic design, beautiful RGB lighting, and optional Qi wireless charging. This solid all-around performer is also packed with features including over 10 programmable buttons and is faster and more responsive than any other gaming mouse out there.

The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is the latest version of the company’s customizable wireless gaming mouse that builds on the already popular Razer Basilisk Ultimate, but now offers even better performance and Qi wireless charging as well as the optional Mouse Dock. Like its other brethren, the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro and the Razer Deathadder V3 Pro, the Basilisk V3 Pro is now fully armored to beat the competition, especially in terms of design, versatility, and even performance speed.

However, the new Razer Basilisk V3 Pro should not be confused with the humble Deathadder V3 Pro, this new mouse comes fully loaded, and boasts customizable RGB lighting, 10+1 buttons, and a next-gen scroll wheel. Follow up with three useful scrolling modes, and it charges faster than your regular gaming mouse via the new Mouse Dock Pro and puck. Basilisk V3 Pro adds weight over the ultralight Deathadder V3 Pro with new features. And, it’s also more expensive, but considering the extra features you get, that cost is easily justified.

If you are looking for a mouse that delivers smooth and effortless gaming performance, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is definitely for you. Plus, it offers a lot more useful features than most apps of its kind.

Design

There’s a lot to like about the Basilisk V3 Pro because Razer has put all of its cutting-edge technology into one mouse. Design is key: This gaming mouse packs everything top-of-the-line or even aesthetically into a sleek design.

The result is a right-handed ergonomic design with a signature thumb rest for less finger drag and smoother clicks while gaming. We’ve seen thumb rests on many high-end mice, including the Basilisk Ultimate and the Logitech MX Master series. On the Basilisk V3 Pro, the thumb rest makes for a comfortable gaming experience as it supports your thumb the whole time.

Razer has opted for an identical chassis design for both the Basilisk Ultimate and the newer Basilisk V3 Pro, you won’t be able to tell them apart when placed side by side. However, all the technology has been updated and refreshed inside, especially the wireless charging dock.

Other than design, the new Basilisk V3 Pro 2022 boasts some unique features not available in its siblings, including:

– HyperScroll Tilt Wheel: This allows you to choose between tactile scrolling (clicks), Smart-Reel, or Free-Spin Cycling.

– Up to 13 Chroma RGB zones: Basilisk V3 Pro now has a full glow, not available in Basilisk Ultimate.

– It now has more than 10 programmable buttons

– Razer Focus Pro 30K. Optical Sensor

– Razer HyperSpeed Wireless: by default, it has a 1,000Hz polling rate, but can be overclocked to 4,000Hz.

– Razer Gen-3 Optical Mouse Switch

– It supports next-generation Qi wireless charging via the optional Mouse Dock Pro (sold separately)

The Basilisk V3 Pro offers excellent ergonomics for grip, and overall good grip support even though this mouse is a bit heavier than most mice in its class. It looks unique with a bulge in the middle and deep grooves on both the left and right buttons, and players with grips will be pleased with the textured rubberized side grips that help keep it in place for their fingers.

The physical design of the Basilisk V3 Pro is slimmer with a slimmer back, making it feel less bulky but allowing easier access to all the buttons, including the DPI up and down buttons you have access to below the roller. As mentioned above, the roller allows to use of three modes and as usual.

Synapse software comes in handy for customizations. You can use it to personalize those 13-zone Chrome RGB lighting and even trim the edges of the mouse and give them a nice glow. That software also lets you tweak things like DPI presets (up to five), change polling rates (125Hz, 500Hz, and 1000Hz) and, finally, re-edit or assign macros to those buttons.

Efficiency

Along with a sleek, aesthetically redesigned design, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro delivers top-notch performance. After all, you are paying the highest amount for a mouse, so it’s better than living up to expectations. Whether you’re just scrolling your AAA titles or repelling enemies in Cyberpunk 2077, this mouse delivers fast, smooth, and effortless movement.

At higher DPI, the Basilisk V3 Pro feels like a Ferrari on the track. It doesn’t have any noticeable lag, thanks to Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless delivering low latency and the Focus Pro 30K sensors pushing for accuracy – but most non-professional gamers will find the 30K DPI a bit too much necessary level. The buttons on the mouse not only feel clicky but also responsive and very accurate.

Perhaps the only problem with this mouse is the feet, which for some reason don’t work well with leather mice or table pads, especially when you factor in its weight. You’ll experience some resistance here, which can be a bit limiting especially when playing fast-paced games or if you have pre-existing wrist problems. However, on most other touchpads, scrolling should be easy.

Again, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro isn’t as light as the Deathadder V3 Pro, but that shouldn’t affect your gaming. If you come from a light gaming mouse, you only need to get used to it in a few days.

Fast charging, and if you choose to buy it with the Razer Mouse Dock Pro, you’ll also get wireless charging. This accessory will cost you some extra money, but it is well worth the investment and not only for the convenience it offers. We’ll be doing an independent review of the Razer Mouse Dock Pro, but for now, just know that it acts as a wireless protector for your mouse, which means it saves you money on a port.

Should I Buy the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro?

The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is the ‘McLaren’ of the gaming mouse right now, and the Mouse Dock Pro adds to its already great configuration. There’s nothing else out there that packs this much into one mouse. Ergonomics is simply out of this world, the design is superior to Logitech G604, you get sleek-looking RGB and new wireless charging makes it a masterpiece.

Also, it comes with a new toggle scroll that is much smoother than I expected. To that, add features like a 30K sensor and 4,000 HyperPolling (the highest and fastest available) and you can’t get anything better than this. Not today, and at least not tomorrow.

The only concern is that aside from being the most gaming-focused mouse and dock, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is also the most expensive mouse, at least to my knowledge. And that begs the question of whether you need all that the Basilisk V3 Pro has to offer. Honestly: Most people will find HyperPolling 30,000 DPI or 4,000Hz overkill, and these are high-end performance ratings that many people won’t even need to use for gaming or productivity.

Overall, for professional gamers or anyone who wants the best, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is easily the best mouse you can buy right now, it’s a worthy investment.
