amazon Ring Smart Lighting Solar Floodlight reviews
The answer to your outdoor security needs, especially if you don’t know anything about wiring. You don’t want to hire an electrician to get security lights on the outside of your home. This light is easy to mount and is powered by a solar panel. There’s no need to worry about batteries or wiring, and installation takes 5 to 10 minutes amazingly quickly. Even better? The Ring app gives you full control over this smart light. There’s nothing not to like
Light up the night
This backyard is as dark as a mine shaft at night, so I needed a floodlight that could light up. I am not sure that sunlight will be able to do the job. But when I tried the Smart Ring Solar Lights on a cloudy night, it lit up most of the quarter-acre behind my house.
If you need less power for your home, the Ring app lets you control the brightness.
It is also adjustable. If you need less power for your home, the Ring app lets you control the brightness for whatever your yard needs. Overall, the light provides up to 1,200 lumens of white light (3500K color temperature).
App Features
You would think that a simple headlight wouldn’t have so many application features. Just on, off, and maybe a brightness control, right? Well, the Ring Smart Solar Lights have pretty much functional lighting on the Ring app. In addition to changing the brightness, you can also enable a motion detection option to make the light come on when it senses something moving in the area. You can also choose whether you want an alert on your phone every time a motion is detected.
You can also adjust the sensitivity so that the light won’t turn on every time a moth flies. I set the light to medium sensitivity and then leave my dogs in the backyard for a few hours. A glance at the app’s Event History section tells me that the light only shows up a few times, which means it’s only really detected when my dogs move around and don’t detect it shows the movement of bugs, possibly in abundance in Texas.
The app also gives you the ability to put the headlights on the schedule. You can link it to other lights in your home or set it on its schedule. I set it to only appear from dusk to dawn, giving it time to power the battery for the day fully. Pairing with other devices like the Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus is also a great idea. For example, every time your headlights detect motion, they can be set up to turn on your video doorbell’s camera automatically. That ensures that if someone tries to sneak around your property, you have a better chance of catching some video footage of that person – plus, it’s a great deterrent.
Power from the sun
By far, my favorite feature of the Ring Smart Lighting Solar Light is that it is solar-powered. No need to wire anything or change batteries. As long as you put the 2W solar panel in a sunny place, you should be pretty good. My backyard gets quite a bit of shade, but even so, the battery charges well. Although the solar panel is great, it is dedicated to lighting, so it cannot be used with other products.
