amazon SSD Plextor M6S 128 GB reviews
M6S 128GB Plextor
Basically, the most significant improvement compared to the previous generation M6S the use Marvell 88SS9188 controller and 19 nm MLC NAND 2nd generation Toshiba. Controller 9188 can be considered a cut version of the SSD controller 9187 in the premium segment as M5 Pro or Crucial M550. Specifically, the number of channels halved only 4 channels to reduce costs as well as power consumption.
Also, the thickness of the drive also decreased from 9.5 mm to 7 mm – provides better compatibility for laptops.
Plextor M6S enjoy 3-year warranty, lifetime record / erase is 72 TB (SSD life cycle calculated according write / delete) – equivalent to the ability to use approximately 67 GB / day.

Test results
Usually the site assessment tests only when the hardware they drive empty then draw conclusions about the product. However there is a problem that most users are aware SSD: Capacity use bigger decreases drive speed. There are specific things after installing the operating system in what amount, when the drive is nearly full in what amount … it is almost unknown for review pages are not part of this test. So I made the test more after drive installed operating system and data storage.
The first is the speed when the drive is empty, no data in the drive. In this test the Kingston HyperX SSD I used to do 240 GB boot drive windows. 4K read-write speed – key elements make up the difference of SSD and HDD – achieve 39-115 MB / s, relatively fast in the mid-range segment which M6S SSD targeted. Sequential speed is also good, reaching 520-342 MB / s. M6S speed of a lot faster than predecessor M5S (4K 29-57 MB / s; Sequential 490-206 MB / s), while prices remained unchanged.
Speed immediately after installing the operating system, 21 GB of space occupied. From now on I am using M6S 128GB boot drive windows do, the software is installed and run benchmarks on the main drive. Results: The rate is still achieved when the drive is empty.
Fill 90% of the data of the drive (running Windows). Results: The rate of decline only slightly -> too great
Conclude
Plextor M6S achieved great progress compared with predecessor M5S. The speed of the drives SSD too good in the midrange segment, while virtually not impaired when filled with data.
