SuperO C9Z390-CG-IW is a Mini-ITX product but the outer box is about the size of a Micro-ATX motherboard. External design is also fairly simple with only the product name, brand SuperO on a black background. The back of the image is more promotional so that users can preview the specifications, features available on this product.
Overall, the C9Z390-CG-IW is not nearly as different from the previous generation C7Z370-CG-IW that we have reviewed. The C9Z390-CG-IW only carries a number of upgrades and minor changes in product design.
In order to ensure a stable power supply to the processor, the SuperO C9Z390-CG-IW uses a 6 + 1 power supply with a two-stage MosFET arrangement and is heat-dissipated by two slender aluminum slides. Small but very useful compared to the C7Z370-CG-IW with only one blade.
Like all ITX products, due to its spatial nature, users will have only two memory-protected DDR4 memory slots, supporting up to 3866MHz memory or more, memory support for both slots is 32GB.
The SuperO C9Z390-CG-IW comes with 2 Ultra M.2 slots that support Intel Optane, NVMe PCIe SSD and RAID 0 configuration 1. Along with that are four popular SATA connectors.
A very strong hallmark of the server is the BIOS on the main, the socket socket IC design is very common on the Supermicro server / workstation product line. In quite a hole, but quite convenient to fix / replace the BIOS for the product.
