amazon Air Jordan XXXI reviews
- Material
The Jordan XXXI material used is synthetic leather on the heels and shoe necks that connect with Flyweave from mid-foot to toe. The blade is favored with a piece of leather and the Air Jordan logo. The inside of the shoe is a high-grade foam that is made higher than the leather in the heel. According to the drawings, the leather on the ankles acts as a piece of bandage to strengthen the area.
To reinforce Flyweave (material of woven performance textile fabric from XX9), Jordan has a cable-based Flywire layout instead of flat tape as shown in XX9 and XXX. Except for the heels, XXXI’s upper is quite similar to the previous two versions, but the lighter Flywire slightly reduces certainty. According to Weartesters, the upper part of Jordan XXXI will look like XX9, softer than XXX but will not be as sure.
The rest of the base is designed to support the Phylon cushion around the Zoom and a thin foam (black on the top) to secure the shoe body. Under the outsole, there is a small anti-roll outrigger ledge, and the middle Air Jordan logo is also a fixed piece (midfoot shank), while the base is rounded very comfortably at the surface. The area of the Zoom bag in the heel and nose is designed to be protruding (characteristic of Flightspeed technology). Naturally, the name “Banned” was imprinted after the unique rubber.
- Traction (grip)
XXXI’s Outsole is not much different from XXX. Although called herringbone, these are lozenges inspired by gecko feet, which help to optimize multi-directional grip. It is undeniable that XXXI’s grip is very promising, but it is still possible that the Outsole will be dusty on non-standard yard surfaces and need to be cleaned after a certain period.
- Comfort & Fit
The inside of Jordan XXXI is a plus, inheriting Flyweave and dedicated Ortholite. The neck shoe is made of thick enough foam around the ankle to increase the smoothness and add the grip to the ankle and heel. Certainly, XXXI will not disappoint fans about this range unless your feet do not match the shoe mold (too wide, too narrow, etc.).

- Cushioning (Buffer)
The midsole is the most changing part due to the appearance of full-length Zoom combined with Flightspeed (or Flightplate). Flight speed is a piece of metal placed above the Zoom bag at the tip with a length of about 2/3 of the shoes while removing the foam right on it.
You can imagine that Jordan had cut off the midsole in the form of a Zoom pocket and placed it in it instead of making the Zoom pocket hard in or on one side of the sucking layer. A special point when accompanying Flightspeed is that the outsole will protrude a small space according to the Zoom pocket shape.
These two details will make the Zoom part of the foot contact the ground first when you run, jump and compress it to a maximum to increase the bounce intensity. The result is a highly sensitive buffer. The Zoom bag will reach its limit due to the short distance from the foot to the ground from removing the middle foam, maximizing the Zoom pocket.
However, this has a big disadvantage for Unlocked Zoom due to its low durability, making it easy to make the podium Zoom. Jordan partially solved the durability issue by reducing the protrusion of the outsole section under the Zoom pocket and full-length Zoom, which made the pressure no longer focus on the sole of the shoe.
In general, cushioning will not be a problem for Jordan XXXI; it may even shoe with the best Zoom Airbase set this year if it passes the Max Zoom base of Nike KD 9. Also, using full-Zoom and instant length, you will step on the heels to feel smoother while running.
- Support, stability, containment
Jordan XXXI’s certainty will depend entirely on the ability to hold the legs. The heel section with the synthetic skin layer, the fish-like fixed edges, and the thin midsole section make your feet closer to the yard and avoid slipping and turning.
But in the introduction of the shoes and from other sources, the shoe nose area is unstable. Jordan gave up all of the midsole ledges and reinforced the area outside the toe and nose. Looks like the company did not reinforce any material on the inside of Flyweave, which was soft and flexible. Even though Flywire still covers the area near the toe, likely, it will not be enough for high-speed horizontal movements. In addition, there is no image of the middle sole fixture like the Carbon Fiber part as in XX9.
