Design overview
TeamGroup MP33 is packaged very simply, placed inside a small card with important parameters such as 512GB capacity, PCIe Gen3 x4 standard, and a 5-year warranty. When searching on the market, you may find that the outer shell of the product has a warranty period of only 3 years, because TeamGroup only changed its policy recently.
Owning M.2 2280 standard design, no heatsink, TeamGroup MP33 is compatible with most desktop and laptop systems today, both Intel and AMD. Like many other mid-range M.2 SSDs, the MP33 features a DRAM-less, single-sided printed circuit (PCB) design to save production costs. The black PCB will be nicer, but the blue color of the MP33 is not a big deal either.

Performance and practical use
According to TeamGroup’s announcement, the 512GB MP33 version has a maximum sequential read/write speed of 1,700 / 1,400 MB / s. Durability, in terms of TeraByte Written (TBW) unit reached 400, which means you can record about 200GB of data per day for more than 5 years.
Testing the performance of MP33, BiaReview uses configurations including:

To copy the actual data, BiaReview chose two scenes: copying a 15GB archive in .rar format and copying 600 jpg files ranging in size from 2 to 15MB, totaling 2.21GB. In the first set, the MP33 nearly reached 1 GB / s, gradually decreasing to 720 MB / s at the end. As for copying image files, the MP33 maintained a speed of 620-650MB / s throughout the process.
With the Crystal Disk Mark tool, the sequential read/write speed (top line) of MP33 reaches 2,100 / 1,826 MB / s, which is even higher than the published speed of TeamGroup. However, we usually care about the random data retrieval rate on data areas with Queues = 1 and Threads = 1 (bottom line). The MP33 achieves a read / write speed of 60/232 MB / s, which is faster than Western Digital’s SN550 model, which has a higher cost and sequential read and write speed.
Next is AS SSD, a benchmark that uses uncompressed data instead of compressed like Crystal Disk Mark so the results are often lower and more accurate. The MP33 scored an overall score of 4704, 10% higher than the SN550.

In theory, the ideal result would be that the two lines are as straight and as high as possible, indicating stability, but the MP33 was unexpected as the faster the latter, although I tried it a few times with similar results.
ATTO Disk Benchmark is software that includes a series of tests to determine the read and write speed of hard drives with many different size data packets. This time, the MP33 has a ridiculously high speed, even faster than the flagship SN750 Black and exceeds the number announced by TeamGroup.
In terms of gaming performance, BiaReview uses the benchmark of Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers, with the ability to measure the standard game screen load time to milliseconds. In total, the MP33 loaded all 5 levels in 17.9 seconds, a bit slower than my initial expectations.
Operating temperature, due to its basic design, MP33 is completely dependent on passive heat dissipation, ie the temperature inside the case will significantly affect the temperature of the drive. Running ezIOmeter software, the maximum temperature we recorded on the sensor was only 50 degrees Celsius, but there is information that shows the software monitoring the temperature declaration on the flash chip, not on the controller, so heat The actual degree will be around 70 degrees Celsius. With an SSD model without a heatsink, that’s an acceptable number.
