Performance evaluation
Test Lab conducted data transfer testing between My Passport Pro 4TB and MacBook Pro Retina ME295 through Thunderbolt interface on both RAID 0 and 1 hard drive configurations. The testing tools include AJA System Test, Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and practice measurements with 10GB of mixed sample data of various formats.
The results below show that when running with two RAID 0 hard drives, the data rate of My Passport Pro 4TB is quite high, with read speeds nearly reaching the manufacturer’s declared value (233 MB /paper).
Specifically, Test Lab records speeds of 207.1 MB / sec and 204 MB / sec through Disk Speed Test. The results of the AJA System Test also differ slightly from the read speed of 208.3 MB / sec and write up to 206.5 MB / sec.
On the actual speed test, copying 10GB of sample data from a variety of formats, including HD movies, lossless music, source install applications, and text files between your MacBook and My Passport Pro.
