Before long, very little headphones made a good first impression. Often when evaluating headphones, I will put a headset for a day to burn in, a day to sound familiar, the third day began to evaluate. But the M70x impressed me with just a few minutes of headphones.
Bass
Perhaps the most worthwhile part of that bass is that it separates out of the orchestra. I am extremely allergic to the headphones that make too much bass and especially too soft, too spread so stick with mid and treble. The M70x did a great job of locating and separating the bass from the rest. Listening to drumsticks, singers are always quite distant, not stick together for a while. The bass volume is very moderate, I hear repeatedly MSR7 and M70x have a bit more bass. But this one is a bit more appropriate, because with me, the M70x is very good, MSR7 is a little bit less.
The M70x’s bass is similar to the M50x or MSR7. This bass can be said to be a very elegant bass. Bass beat very clean, punchy and good speed. But if you are a strong bass player, pounding, you will probably be disappointed with the M70x. Because the bass is very compact, clean and fast, some of the dances are still missing. It’s not always good bass, it’s a little tedious, it’s slower to play slower. But once you have a neutral, polished bass, the M70x will fit you well.
Sub bass down quite deep, but for comparison there is still the compact nature of the whole sound. When compared to the bass of the Sennheiser HD650, the M70x rather lack bass sub. This is not entirely true because the sub bass M70x is quite deep bass, the truth is its volume is not high. But when I realized that the letter “M” in the M70x Monitor, towards a balanced sound, dedicated to the recording to see that Audio Technica was too successful!
Mid
If you wait for a mid-sweet as the AD line, you will definitely find it strange, remove the headphones to see if the M70x is an audio Technica headphones again! Picking up the headphones, I think the M70x will have a thick, sweet and warm mid but it will be different. Mid slightly slightly inclined, not dry but not sweet, and even slightly cold! When playing Robbie Williams’ Beyond The Sea, the male vocalist was slightly thin, did not thicken nor warmed up, giving a very neutral, clean feel. When playing a female vocalist, the singer’s voice was a bit cold, but still more vocal than a little bit so it did not feel so sweet at all. This is a pretty standard mid-range, no extra, no cutting of anything.
The thing that I like is that it is also a Monitor headset, but the M70x mid is still musical and easy listening. Most recorded headphones now have midgies, dry and very hard to hear. But the M70x retains the same level of sound that it can enjoy. Mid feeling slightly bright, neutral and thin. But the detail can be said to be good, the sound, the saliva swallowing of the singer is exposed. Mid up, not roll off but the miracle is very little sib. Although the source is quite a light, listen to a lot of sib but the M70x is very well done to make the music becomes clean, neutral but without thorns. If you only describe the mid M70x with a letter then you will describe it as BEAUTIFUL, it is very standard, neutral.
Treble
Perhaps my favorite thing about the M70x is the treble. Treble up very high, shimmering, strong and bright, but not glare. Detail treble very well. In a treble, you notice a small hello somewhere behind the ear, the M70x can still perform well. Good treble space with the M70x is good too. This treble stands out, making the M70x’s sound clear, fast. What can this music play? It is true that this treble fits all genres. If you listen to light music, the M70x will make your music brighter, better sound. But when listening to Nu rave or dance, this treble makes the music more powerful, more violent, compensate for the bass quickly and slightly less volume with this genre!
Summary
To me, the ATH M70x is really a big success for Audio Technica this year. The M70x has a simple, colorless but professional design. The metal rims, small details and meticulous M70x make the modern than all the headphones I have ever seen. Beautiful outside but the M70x is beautiful inside. The M70x possesses a balanced sound, not too cluttered at all. Bass is tense but detailed, mid increase but not sweet, treble up.
