Detailed evaluation
The Revenger S is an upgraded version of the Revenger gaming mouse, cougar launched in 2016. The mouse shape is essentially the same, with an ergonomic design for right-handed people. And like the Revenger predecessor, the mouse is hollowed into the rollers position, creating an impression when looking at the product. For this reason, the wires of the mouse are translated to the left rather than centered like many other mouse.

Cougar Revenger S 12000 dpi RGB Gaming Mouse: Buy it now
In the Revenger S, Cougar removed the DPI LEDs to the left of the mouse, and also reduced the size of the two forward / backward buttons. This change comes from the response of the gaming community, while in Revenger, the two extra buttons make it difficult for the thumb to comfortably hold the mouse.
The mouse is equipped with a 50 million-click on Omron switch – which has almost become the standard for gaming mice at the moment. Like Revenger’s predecessor, the Revenger S also uses the PMW 3360 optical sensor manufactured by PixArt. The lift-off distance can be adjusted, with a minimum distance equal to the thickness of a CD, and the maximum distance is about two CDs. In general, the mouse is no different from the predecessor. The biggest difference is that the mouse’s communication frequency has been pushed up to 2000Hz, instead of 1000Hz as the Revenger. However, for the writer personally, this change seems rather excessive, because the user himself will not be able to distinguish the difference between 0.5ms and 1ms latency.
The Revenger S uses the custom Cougar UIX System software, where you can adjust basic parameters such as DPI, Polling Rate, Lift-off; As well as reassigning the function to the secondary node and changing the mouse’s LED effect.
