Destiny 2 Voice Actors

Rate this post

Aside from contributing stories, lore, guiding quests and designing destinies and gameplay, the voice actors in the ever-growing destiny universe are very important in as far as character portrayal is concerned. From the authoritative voice of the stalwart Commander Zavala, to the enigmatic Drifter, and the ever sarcastic and daring Cayde-6, such voices create a lot of depth to the grand story presented in the game. The voiceover talents in the game Destiny 2 have been remarkable to the players considering that a number have been prominent figures in the sector. The review, does Voiceover Performance Evaluation, review some of the key characters in the game and the voice actors who played them-their voice performance and influence to the game as a whole.

Zavala: Steadfast Leadership by Lance Reddick

Of the many characters who enhance the game’s plot, probably one of the most famous is Commander Zavala, Titan Vanguard. His voice has become associated with the stoic leadership and loyal sense of purpose that reflects the character of Zavala, played by recently deceased Lance Reddick. Reddick’s voice full of bass has a trench that only a leader who has watched numerous Guardians perish in battle would have only to stay true to and continue to preserve humanity.

The Acting of Lance Reddick

Lance Reddick’s performance as Zavala is downright extraordinary. There is no denying that the way Reddick voices the character brings with it a sense of power and authority which is appropriate for the Vanguard leader. This is how words delivered by Reddick are always composed. Thus, it makes it possible for Zavala to retain and exude calmness, poise and composure even in the presence of great danger and insurmountable challenges. Therefore, devotion to or reverence for military hierarchies is hardly the only feature offered by his character. It also tells the unintended consequence of turning into the player’s instructor.

One of the scenes involving Reddick’s character that stands out is during the campaign dubbed the Red War where Zavala is faced with the fall of the Last City. He pauses for a moment before confirming that what offends him the most is the defeat of his people, which reveals the burden of leadership. However, Reddick manages to keep the character’s determination intact, even in the most difficult situations. Even when he is issuing orders, one can feel Reddick’s depth of emotion that exists under his character’s sometimes rigid lines. This little detail makes the transformation of Zavala from a mere commander to a character that is complex as well as very relatable.

Lance Reddick’s skilled impression of Zavala would have been most identifiable during quiet reflection or when preparing for battle. Some lines like, “Our enemies think themselves gods and kings. Show them the error of their ways,” are etched in the memories of players long after the Tower has been exited. It is this ability to blend seriousness with lightheartedness that has made players to know and love Zavala.

Impact on the Game

Lance Reddick’s performance gives a sense direction to the universe of Destiny 2. His firm and commanding voice evokes a feeling amongst the players that originally, Zavala was in control of everything including the ass-whooping. His voice is a constant reassuring presence however, mostly in the low times of the game’s story. Reddick’s performance functions to enhance the environment within the game making the player feel a greater sense of belonging in the Guardians’ realm.

The Humor of Cayde-6 Dealt by Nathan Fillion and Nolan North Properties

The role of Hunter Vanguard, Cayde-6, who is also called a joker, was performed by two actors, Nathan Fillion and more later Nolan North. Each actor added to the character his own colorful design. For example Fillion’s Cayde was a charming scoundrel, and later, after the retirement of the actor Fillion, Cayde-North continued the eponymous mantle. Personally for me, whenever I think about Cayde-6, I think about how comically light hearted and off the top he was as black. This is unlike the other major characters who tend to be quite serious.

Nathan Fillion’s Performance

As usual, Nathan Fillion’s interpretation of Cayde-6 made players instantly fall in love with the character. Appearing in Firefly and Castle, Fillion effortlessly brought in his charming and lighthearted comedic style to the Destiny 2 universe. There’s no doubt that Nathan Fillion brought a sense of arrogance to the character of Cayde-6, which was a refreshing change from the darker tone of the main tale. Whether responding with a witty retort or mocking other characters, Fillion’s Cayde-6 was always entertaining.

Because of Fillion’s voice work, every fan felt the loss of Cayde-6 in the Forsaken expansion all the more. This exacerbated the already clear evisceration of Fillion’s abilities when he was forced to abandon Cayde’s constant humorous composure to let it devolve to a more serious mantra as he was nearing his endpoint mise en scene. There were comical elements infused, yet elements of sad approaching mortality remained in the latter, which is what proved Fillion’s prowess as an actor. This anguish was especially captured in the line, “This is really going to hurt,” which was delivered with equal parts dread and humor, which was so Cayde-6.

Analysis of Nolan North’s Work

When Fillion announced that he would be leaving the series, a famous voice actor Nolan North, who is widely known as the voice of Nathan Drake in set of games called Uncharted, replaced him as Cayde-6. While he held on to most of Fillion’s performance, he also made the character his own. This was especially evident in North’s impressive delivery of Cayde-6’s farewell speech in Forsaken, where he went on to depict the jokester in a much softer light.

While it could have been disorienting for the audience with such an interruption, North went ahead and ensured that there was no gap in presentation of the character Cayde – 6 in the entire storyline. North interprets a character fully while paying homage to Fillion’s version, which orders North to turn out as an adaptable actor. Although he participated in the performance scene of Cayde-6 for a short time, the work North did on his character contributed in justifying the burden associated with the death of Cayde.

How They Influenced the Game

In Destiny 2, Cayde-6 was the heart and humor of the game and in this respect, both Fillion and North played their parts that made this character one of the most loved in the game. There was a fun element in game because of Cayde’s banter and such irreverence even in a world that is usually inhabited by war and wretchedness. His death shifted the game’s narrative focus, and it was the portrayals of Fillion and North which made the players mourn over his portrayed death.

Ikora Rey: Gina Torres’ Quiet Strength

Since Ikora Rey serves as the Warlock Vanguard, she is a strong character, whereas her voice actress, Gina Torres endows her with an impassive power that is her trademark. Torres, who is recognized for her roles in Firefly and Suits, seeks to elevate Ikora by imparting to her an easy and commanding presence that is frequently displayed by the character in the role of a Vanguard rationalizer. In instances when Ikora may appear to be less dynamic than Zavala or Cayde, her role is nevertheless played out effectively through the voice work of Torres.

Vision of Gina Torres

Gina Torres’ approach to Ikora is centered on control and poise. If Zavala is the leader in the front and Cayde is the one who shines, for Ikora her strength is her mind and her spirit. Torres embodies this entirely, as for Ikora even during the most dangerous talks, she maintains an almost calm and composed voice. This tone is in sharp contrast to the emotional chaos that Ikora goes through during the course of the Red Eyes Rise where the City collaps, and she is besotted by thoughts of failure and uncertainty.

The moments of silence with Ikora prove to be the best in the performance of Torres. In the expansion of The Witch Queen barreling towards her, where she takes significant space, Ikora’s character is especially complex in the scene when she doubts her skills as a leader, and the decisions made by her. However, the fragility, that Torres purposefully puts into her cues makes Ikora shinier and more believable, even in the presence of her serious physical abilities.

Contribution to the Gameplay

The character of Ikora Rey is greatly complemented by the voice performance of its actress. Torres’s voice gives character to Ikora’s wisdom and her inner struggle which makes the game’s storyline more impactful. People do not pay attention when Ikora speaks because she is shouting or being authoritative. They pay attention because of Torres’ quiet assertiveness in her speech that compels them to do so.

The Drifter: Todd Haberkorn’s Mysterious Charisma

Speaking of enigmatic figures in Destiny 2, The Drifter is truly one of those few, and kudos to Todd Haberkorn, the voice actor for The Drifter, as he brings an interesting allure to the character. The Drifter, who is also a host for the Gambit and an ethically ambiguous character, possesses multiple shades of gray with respect to morality, and so does Haberkorn voice where he displays the unpredictability and playfulness of the character.

What Todd Haberkorn Has Brought Into The Performance

There is a sense of both likability and untrustworthiness that Haberkorn imbues the Drifter with. There is an understated coolness and even carelessness with which Haberkorn’s Drifter addresses life-and-death matters. This is the part of the appeal of Haberkorn’s voice. It has a certain swagger that makes one feel as if the Drifter whom he voices has seen it all and takes nothing seriously – save for perhaps, when it comes to enduring.

One such line – “You ever been to the Nine Realms? Don’t. Trust Me,” – illustrates Haberkorn’s capacity to recreate any line of the script with an undertone of suspense and wittiness. In his performance, he adds a dimension that makes the players wonder whether or not they can ever trust the Drifter, hence making his role in the game more fascinating.

Influence On The Game

The Drifter is also an important character within the adopted Gambit mechanics, as if his role is enhanced by Haberkorn’s performance in this game mode. The untidy, raspy timbre of his voice embodies his ethical dilemma, while Haberkorn enriches the Drifter’s character within the storyline. When saying The Drifter, there’s that feeling that you’re crossing into the unknown, accompanied by a traitor of a guide, who is most probably a traitor if not an ally.

Ghost: The Many Talents of Nolan North

Nolan North is not only the voice of Cayde-6. He narrates the character of the Ghost, who remains with the player for most of the gameplay in Destiny 2. In the sequel to the original Destiny game, North succeeded Dinklage, who voiced the character in the first game. North’s take on the character is certainly much more vibrant and well-acted, while also embodying the player, as opposed to just being an informative tool.

The Role of Nolan North as Ghost

The performance of Nolan North as Ghost is well-informed and emotive while being also amusing in parts. Ghost, as every Guardian’s figure, helps the player in accessing the world through information about the goals, missions and the progression of the player. What’s interesting about North in this case is that instead of making Ghost an electronic voice and a disembodies pair of arms, he infuses into the character lots of humor and emotions.

North’s Ghost is inquisitive, altruistic and at times mischievous, which comes in handy especially during some serious scenarios in the game. To illustrate this point, there is a scene where the Ghost ei-ther reprimands or jokes about the abnormal and alien worlds that the Guardian has to travel to: “We’ve woken the Hive!” which turned into a hilarious community meme courtesy of North who voiced the character.

On the other hand, it is Noth’s capacity to render vulnerability that completes this picture in full. On several occasions, Ghost gets attached to the storyline of the Guardian in the first place, especially with those the Guardian interacts with, for instance, the Drifter or events such as Cayde-6’s death. The Ghost is hurt and expresses concern, most notably during the Red War campaign, when for the first time in the entire series he is not only injured but also detached from the Guardian. In such moments, North’s performance truly knows how to convey to the player the heaviness of the circumstances.

Influence on the Current Game

For instance, Nolan North’s Ghost in Destiny 2 is not only meant to provide the player with a sense of a partner for the duration of the game but also adds a warmth and an element of involvement that enhances the whole experience. In the midst of multitudes of enemies, and friends alike, Ghost remains the player’s companion, and using North’s voice helps players associate with their Guardian’s story. His wit, knowledge, and emotional resonance make Ghost more than just a gameplay element and transform him into a fan-favorite character within the world of Destiny 2.

Osiris: The Royalty of Oded Fehr is so towering.

Oded Fehr provides the voice for the character ‘Osiris’ who is a warlock vanguard studying the vex and was hence exiled for the studies. Fehr has appeared in The Mummy and its sequel and Resident Evil one as well as the animated series. He commands and portrays Osiris in such a way that it fits the character’s intelligence and authority. Oded Fehr is the voice behind the character who is one of the most powerful and mysterious characters in the film who is known as the warlock and played Eternals.

Oded Fehr Performance Reviewed

While embodying Osiris, the voice of Oded Fehr conveys both authority and wisdom. Delivering calm yet confident, measured understatement while delivering lines, Fehr captures succinctly the character’s character’s gravitas regarding the universe and the peril it holds. The audience can sense depth in the actor’s delivery, which is appropriate for the character of Osiris who belongs to the Vanguard but prefers to reside in the dark recesses of society while utilizing perilous knowledge in pursuit of higher understanding.

Fehr demonstrates a remarkable ability to illustrate Osiris’s commitment to his mission. This is especially true in the Curse of Osiris expansion in which Osiris is hell-bent on uncovering the vexing secrets of the Vex and tries at all costs to avert the apocalypse. He never doubts his capabilities; rather, in the performance of Fehr, the player collects the feeling, that even with these dirty tricks, Osiris is doing all this for a reason.

Nonetheless, at certain points, Fehr as well presents Osiris as a character who can suffer set-backs or be filled with dread. For instance, within the storyline of the Season of the Dawn, Osiris is on a rescue mission to save his dearest friend Saint-14, and Fehr’s portrayal reveals the dualism between Osiris the brave and confident warrior and a man whose loved one is about to be lost.

Impact on the Game

Oded Fehr’s performance prevents Osiris from becoming a cardboard cut out, and instead infuses the character with life. He fills the role of Osiris’s character enhancing it with all the qualities befitting such an important person. His voice acting makes Osiris an integral aspect of the Destiny 2 lore; one which dimensionalizes his interactions with the other characters in particular Ikora and Saint 14. He is so prolific that Osiris can make an appearance, and from the very onset, the players are aware that this is a character who is amongst the most powerful and knowledgeable in the sphere.

Saint-14: Brian T. Delaney’s Heroic Warmth.

One of the most notorious Titans in the Destiny universe is Saint-14, and Brian T. Delaney, the actor who gives him voiceover, behaves to his character with a heroic warmth. There are many stories of courage and glory in the lives of the warriors, such as the one of Saint-14, a self-sacrificial man. Delaney’s performance of him transforms him into not only a powerful character but one looked up to by the gamers.

Portraying a legend like Saint-14, Brian T. Delaney, remains as a true performer. His voice brims with confidence and valor and faith in the Light and its power. Besides the old-time masculine and proud performance of Delaney, he also seems to spare some love and kindness to Saint-14. Even though he is one of the well-known Titans, Saint-14 has been portrayed as warm-hearted all the time, especially when the player and other characters are involved.

One instance that stands out about Saint-14 would be his touching dialogue with the player during Season of dawn where he exclaims, ‘I do not think you will ever be alone.’ These words well depicted by Delaney’s tone, captures the two fold dynamics of Saint-14 — a guide and a guardian. It makes Saint-14 an even more realistic character because the performance presents a more humane aspect of him, which is difficult given the nature of the character’s larger than life myths.

Moreover, the suppression of the ‘Voice of Rage’ seems to instill a feeling of nostalgia to the audience, especially during the times when Saint-14 mourns. A voice that has seen and continued to reveal the pain of battle, sacrifice and loss, but also contains the unfathomable joy that comes from having lived well. It is this combination of emotions that makes Saint-14 one of the most adored characters in the entire Destiny franchise.

Effect on the Game

The role that Brian T. Delaney has played in voice acting greatly popularized the character of Saint-14 in Destiny 2. He makes Saint-14 feel like a family member, not just a warrior but a teacher, someone who cares for the player, other characters in the game, and gives them strength. Delaney’s performance injects pathos in the storyline made in Destiny 2, hence, even after the end of his tale, the audience knows fullness that the figure of Saint-14 will endure.

Mara Sov: Kirsten Potter’s Regal Authority

The Queen of the Awoken, Mara Sov, is arguably one of the most intriguing as well as powerful characters in the Destiny 2 world. The queen’s character is brought to life by the voice of Kirsten Potter, an actress who lends her voice with regal authority given the complexity of the character of Mara Sov. Mara is a character that instills both respect and fear in equal measures, and this is the duality in recounting Potter’s performance.

Kirsten potter performance

Among the most remarkable aspects of Kisten Potter’s performance of Mara Sov is the strength, and more so, the underside of the strength that she possesses. Kal and controlled is how potter’s voice is, and measured too making Mara one of the solidest characters in the game Mara Sov dare I say. The way she approaches the character’s role, it is pretty obvious that she is the one person who puts Mara Sov a few steps ahead of everyone else.

Particularly, the way Potter shows Maid’s ruthless and cunning side is what makes the audience believe and accept her as the character. There are instances when Mara is impossible to approach, but even at those times, there are compensating factors in Potter’s voice acting which bear testimony to the emotional core and history which exists behind that character. Potter’s voice exemplifies this skew in her relations with Uldren Sov (later known as the Crow), where her emotional detachment is somewhat thawed. While discussing Uldren, Mara seems to soften a bit, giving a rare insight into her protective side.

When Mara Sov is the central character of the Season of the Lost and it is immersed into years of hidden plans and regrets over personal losses, Potter’s performance takes that a notch higher. Unlike others, her ability to throw her voice verbatim and subsequently temper the emotion in between the lines makes Mara, a character whom everyone wants to know more about in the game.

Effect on the Gameplay

Kirsten Potter’s contribution as the voice of Mara Sov in Destiny 2 incorporates an interesting twist to the storyline of of the game as well. The aspects of Morrigan as a queen, tactician, and sister are captured by the convincing work of Potter. It is no doubt that so much of her demeanor is that of a sovereign, however an air of mystery exudes from this character that compels players to dig deeper into her psyche to figure out what she is planning. Thanks to the actress, the character of Mara Sov is very much alive and very much a part of the ongoing events in the game.

The Exo Stranger: Lauren Cohan’s Subtle Nuances of Emotion

The Exo Stranger, with Lauren Cohan providing the voice, is a character whose history has always been layered in enigma since she was first exhibited in the original Destiny. Coming from The Walking Dead franchise, Cohan is known to the audience for the emotional range she possesses and the subtle coloring this gives the Exo Stranger.

Lauren Cohan’s Performance

The Exo Stranger’s role as performed by Lauren Cohan is colored by the actress’s ability to project a strong but quiet resolve. This is a character who has undergone countless timelines and struggles, the voice of Cohan embodying the very burden. It is like a resigned outlook in the execution, as though the Exo Stranger has been through a lot, yet has relentless hesitance to fulfil her obligation.

The Exo Stranger’s struggle adds even more weight to her moments of defeat, allowing viewers to appreciate the effect her silence has on them. In the first expansion after the base game, Beyond Light, the Exo Stranger assists the Guardian in making sense of the Darkness. Cohan’s performance is brilliant in that we see the character torn between the desire to atone for her previous actions and the present, which he is trying to change for the better.

One of the notable instances in Cohan’s performance is when the Exo Stranger explains her association with the Guardian and her significance in the Destiny world. In Beyond Light, players discover that the Exo Stranger is, in fact, Elsie Bray, one of the Bray sisters and Ana Bray’s sibling. This revelation provides further depth to her character, and it is such emotional moments that reveal Lauren Cohan’s brilliance as a voice actor.

Cohan walks the fine line between the Exo Stranger’s tough persona and the heaviness of the personal history to be carried by the character. The sadness of loss and longing for she, however, goes through many hitches in travel, especially about one’s family, and the time-limiting issue of plotting through different times, can be heard in her voice. When speaking about Ana, there is a softness in her words. But when she forbids the repetition of the same mistakes – the voice is firm. Cohan skillfully shows a woman who has been through a lot of defeats but still believes in a bright future.

Discussion of Consequences within the Game

Joe McGann’s Exo Stranger is an integral aspect of Lauren Cohan performance, and it brings considerable weight to the Destiny 2 story. Cohan’s portrayal of the character fills in the gaps about Exo Stranger’s backstory, making it clear that she is a character with depth and internal conflicts stemming from her history. Her skill in providing such minute emotional details is what makes the ending of Exo Stranger impactful and relevant to the players, especially in relation to the development of her story within the context of the Destiny universes. Aside from gameplay features, her return in the Beyond Light expansion was one of its major highlights. It promoted an upgrade to the available lore for both longtime fans of the expansion and newbies introduced to the world through Ana’s character.

The Drifter: An Entertaining Scoundrel by Todd Haberkorn

The Drifter is perhaps the most complex and interesting character in Destiny 2, which is voiced by Todd Haberkorn. It’s easy to see why Todd was chosen to voice the character: he masterfully portrays the Drifter’s charming rogue persona, which is replete with humor, danger, and mystery. The Drifter is, within the Gambit and a number of other plot lines, a character who is unlike most in the Destiny universe, and his inclusion into the fandom is very much thanks to the voice talents of Haberkorn.

A Critique of Todd Haberkorn’s Performances

There’s a sense of mirthful aloofness in the way Haberkorn’s voice acting is delivered in the scenes depicting the Drifter. He imbues the character with a sense of unpredictability, creating an impression of a man always having dual motives, a man whom one can’t really tell where he stands, if at all. A lot of the personality that the Drifter’s character design possesses comes from a very, very jive talkative and yet playful manner of presentation – to such an extent, that he is a well-liked character in spite or rather because of the Drifter’s questionable morals.

One of Haberkorn’s strong points is that he can make the Drifter funny and scary at the same time. The Drifter often tells jokes or witty one-liners in the middle of a Gambit match, which is entertaining for the players in the middle of a fight. Even so, there is always a bit of restlessness in the pitch of his voice as if there is information he is not divulging about himself. This contradiction is what makes the Drifter interesting – he is pleasant and amusing, but he is also a danger and someone who could be questionable.

With their respective origins being revealed much later, it is through Haberkorn’s performance that Strider is fleshed out – revealing more of his past involving the Darkness and the Nine. His tone, at least while saying these words, gets to be more serious – this possibly hints at the side of the Drifter who has demons to fight and is often at war with himself for doing the right thing and doing what he has to do in order to survive. Haberkorn manages to express a deeply troubled character, who is borderline psychotic in his conflicts but retains the pleasure of his humor.

Effects on Gaming

Todd Haberkorn has revolutionized the way players perceive the Drifter through his performance in the game. The distinction and illustration of the Drifter in its episodes sits out in contrast to the rest of the dimensional heroes and villains that embellish the game. Thanks to the voice acting provided by Haberkorn, the Drifter is perceived as a true wildcard in the game of Destiny 2, all storms and ships with no forewarning. This contribution of his performance is particularly effective in assisting Gambit in rising up in the ranks of the most unforgettable and the most interesting game modes, particularly due to the banter of the Drifter and the chaotic aspect of his character.

Shaxx: Leadership and Power of Lennie James

The character of Commander Shaxx who is known for owning the Crucible is voiced by Lennie James of The Walking Dead and Jericho fame. His role being the crucible commander and training the guardians in combat and other activities proves to be most entertaining of all his family’s doing, making him one of the most recognized characters in Destiny 2. James’ booming shouts and voice acting help to bring the character of Shaxx to life, which is why the character is a favourite among players.

Shifting the Focus to Lennie James

A good voice gives nothing less than what is expected of the character entrusted to him, that is, the voice of Shaxx. In every single match of the Crucible, one can tell that pure warrior instinct exists in Shaxx and in his character voiced over by James, he is raising the pitch again and again.; for James’ voice with the sheer amount of depth in it becomes an imploration for every single kill every player out there takes. Whether it’s related to a violent kill performed by the player and James being the one narrating exhorting the player on or even when it’s a hard fought battle and James is ready urging the player to fight even harder, energy and intensity is the overall impression one gets from the character of James’ Shaxx.

Another thing that makes James’ depiction all the more appealing is the ardour with which he performs the lines attributed to Shaxx. He is not just the commander of their troops; he is a warrior at heart and savours the thrill of the Crucible as a test of skills for the Guardians. There are exclamations of utter joy in his voice when the events turn in his favour; exclamations that turn to anger when the turn of events is the opposite and the players fail to meet his standards. It is the same exaggeration that James applies to make Shaxx easier to relate with – like a coach who wants the Guardian to improve and advance beyond reasonable limits.

It can be said that while Shaxx is a bold character, Lennie James also managed to incorporate some funny and warm-hearted moments as well. Especially, let’s talk about Shaxx’s dialogues with some other characters, such as Lord Saladin and Zavala, who in this regard turned out to be his friendly rivals. It is through such a performance that Shaxx becomes a more rounded character as there is more to him than just his menacing figure and that is a man who deeply cares for the Guardians in his charge.

Influences upon the Game

In part, it is the talents of Lennie James as a voice actor that made Shaxx one of the most remarkable characters within Destiny 2. Shaxx’s thunderous voice, as well as his unswerving passion about the Crucible, enthralls the players to such an extent, that they feel every PvP match is the battle of the titans. James’ performance is indeed such that it is easy to overlook the fact that Shaxx is supposed to be just another NPC. He is the lifeblood of the Crucible, the one who projects the never-ending competitiveness that every Guardian possesses. Players indeed cannot wait to listen to Shaxx when it is their turn for PvP, his has become the banner voice of combat in the game.

The Crow: Brandon O’Neill’s Redemption Arc

In addition, Brandon O’Neill is the voice of Uldren Sov, who is the deceased Prince of the Awoken turned Crow with his second life as a Guardian after the resurrection. O’Neill’s rendition of the character known as Crow in the game simply takes the cake for richness and depth since this is the character’s development from bad guy to anti-hero. O’Neill really knows how to do this and this is one of the reasons as to why Crow is one of the most interesting character in the game.

Brandon O’Neill’s Capability

O’Neill’s performance as Uldren taking up the mantle of the Crow is emotionally replete with various layers. Though he is introduced as the main villain in the Forsaken expansion, Uldren is the person that killed Cayde-6, a character loved by the audience, amongst many alternatives. O’Neill performance in Forsaken was akin to an overweening tyrant, a portrayal that drew hate towards Uldren. But after he came back and who O’Neill has now come to embody as the Crow is totally different and that is a frail, muddled person with a desire to atone.

As for the role of Crow, O’Neill draws upon a more subdued and reflective register. He exposes the fragility and lack of assurance inherent in the character, especially towards the beginning of the character’s mission to reclaim the Tower. For some reason he does not remember these actions from his past, however Crow is troubled by them, and O’Neill chronicles this struggle with underplayed emotions. This makes one feel that the actor is doing this for him – hoping for his turning around, his redemption.

Parts of O’Neill’s performance that stand out above the rest is Crow’s interaction with the Guardian. O’Neill makes the audience feel how Crow, respectful and appreciative of the player, that is kind towards him, regardless of his past history as Uldren Sov. In O’Neill’s performance, a kind of optimism can be felt as Crow inched closer to the belief that there is more to him than being the villain he was.

Influence on the Game

The character of Crow brought to life by Brandon O’Neill is a beautiful addition to the Destiny 2 storyline. His embodiment of a character who is fighting for redemption is quite relatable to players, who were affected by the Forsaken storyline. O’Neill’s capability of displaying vulnerability and strength at the same time in Crow, makes the character arc among the most interesting ones in the game. Due to the actor’s performance, the transformation of the character Crow has an impression of a character development and growth – something which most gamers remember conclusively when it comes to the content of the game Destiny 2.

Conclusion: The Significance of Voice Acting in Destiny 2

The talented voice actors of Destiny 2 not only add narratives to the game, but they actively engage in fleshing out characters into fully interactive elements of the game’s story. Every character becomes real, with feelings, motivations and emotions. From the humorous and fun dialogues of Nathan Fillion and Nolan North, the seriousness of Lennie James and the very dramatic role of the Crow by Brandon O’Neill, every voice actor brings something different and versatile to his or her character.

The voice acting in Destiny 2 is not simply there to provide a narrative context; it is an integral aspect of gameplay that enhances the playing experience in such a way that the players tend to develop attachments towards the characters engaged in the game and the non-playable environment. These gifted actors’ contributions, in terms of voice, made it possible for players to become fully absorbed in the plot of Destiny 2, a game where numerous voices and the players’ actions themselves determine the course of an entire universe.
