Packaging and accessories
No longer packaged in wibu-style packaging like Spark, Nekocake or Kuroneko, Moondrop Space Travel is packaged in a cardboard box made of transparent plastic. Although it is a bit simple, this packaging design has partly reduced Space Travel’s production costs.
In addition to the pair of headphones and charging dock, users will receive an additional set of accessories including:
- 1 charging cord
- 3 pairs of silicone eartips size S/M/L
- User manuals
- QC certification card
Design and wearing experience
Unlike Nekocake & Kuroneko, Moondrop Space Travel has a very new, unique and youthful design language. The headphones continue to use the in-ear design with the ear cups having a neat oval shape and the tail is elongated like the sisters Nekocake & Kuroneko.
The small shape of the earbuds will help bring a comfortable, snug and smooth wearing feeling. On the tail of the headset, in addition to the status indicator, there will be an additional sensor system that allows users to control Space Travel through touch operations. Pure white color mixed with orange/gray motifs will help the appearance of the headset become more youthful and eye-catching.
The charging dock is semi-open and has the lid removed. The appearance of the charging dock looks square, with slightly rounded corners to create a comfortable feeling when held in the hand. The structure of the charging dock is divided into two parts. The lower part is made of plastic, painted white and embellished with orange/gray patterns. The top part is also made of plastic but is transparent to help users clearly see the interior of the charging dock.
The magnet inside the charging dock has strong attraction so users don’t have to worry about the headphones falling out. On the front of the charging dock there will be a status indicator light and the Type-C charging port is integrated on the bottom. Note, users should charge the charging dock with chargers a capacity of 5W.
With a very new and youthful design language, Moondrop Space Travel easily wins the hearts of users at the first glance, especially for female and wibu users.

Sound quality
Taking on the task of reproducing sound on Moondrop Space Travel will be assigned to a 13mm dynamic driver with a dome design, with a speaker membrane made from titanium-plated composite material. To make the sound more detailed and have better dynamics, Moondrop has integrated the N52 neodymium magnet system and CCAW voice coil for the dynamic driver.
The sound quality that Space Travel provides sounds very warm, balanced and natural. Although the sound quality has more bass when compared to Nekocake & Kuroneko, the remaining two sound ranges are still beautifully tuned and do not lose detail.
In addition to the great rumble, the bass range on Space Travel also has quite good texture. The amount of bass is good and evenly spread, but the response speed is not really fast. With the default EQ, the bass may not be as energetic and suitable for bassheads. However, users can completely customize the intensity of the bass range by tweaking the EQ settings on the Moondrop Link 2.0 application.
Although the bass range has been better customized, Space Travel’s real strength still lies in the mid range. The mid range has very good balance, sounds smooth and detailed. The male vocal sounds thick and the female vocal is extremely sweet. The timbre in the mid range is very natural and there is no sign of sibilance when the female voice hits high notes.
The treble range has quite good extension, which contributes significantly to creating airiness for the sound stage. The treble sound, in addition to being natural and realistic, is also pleasant and does not cause harsh sibs.
Compare
Vs Moondrop Nekocake
Although it has a higher level, to be honest, Space Travel has a better design and finish than Nekocake. In addition to faster connection capabilities thanks to the better Bluetooth 5.3 standard, Space Travel also integrates Transparent Mode. Meanwhile, Nekocake only uses Bluetooth 5.0 standard and does not have Transparent Mode.
Moving on to sound quality, although Space Travel has a more energetic bass range, Nekocake has the ability to control the bass range better. The vocal part will be performed by Space Travel in a more lively and energetic way. The treble range on Space Travel is expanded better and sounds more airy.
It’s hard to ask too much for a cheap product, but with Moondrop Space Travel, it’s a completely different story. Although located in the low-cost segment, Space Travel has many plus points from beautiful design, many support features, catchy sound quality, and good mixing ability.
