amazon Somic V2 reviews
Design
Basically, the Somic V2 does not have much of a difference compared to the MH463. I even confused the two together when I first picked up this headset. Still looks bumpy, as strong as the MH463, but the first difference I noticed is the weight. The MH463 is really a good headset, but its huge disadvantage is its large weight, which is annoying to wear for a long time. At Monitor V2, weight has been reduced a lot, not worn on the ear can also feel it!
The pad is now made of velvet soft fabric instead of leatherette as before. This type of velvet is soft and probably also does not absorb much sweat so it can be used for a long time without falling. The top of the head is still skin, but thickened so there is no feeling of pain. This is a complete Open Earphone, one can see the driver painted red is quite prominent inside. Somic has used a more advanced driver for better sound quality than the MH463. V2 is a wired headset. This string is very thick and firm, 3m long to serve the need of mixing music, convenient to plug the place away from the ears! Overall, the V2 is a complete version of the MH463, the most advanced in terms of materials and most notably weight and feel!

Sound
Like other Somic monitors, the V2 does not have much of a difference in sound quality. What V2 is aiming for is the full range of balance, as well as the comfort to be used in the long run.
Bass
The Somic MH463 has a tendency to bass, with slightly lowered bass volume for a bit. But it was called Monitor, V2 needed the most balanced sound balance possible, so the bass was reduced a bit. The V2’s bass volume is quite modest, average or below average for those of you who are used to hearing a lot of bass. However, the background of the V2 is also warm and dark so the bass is so that it feels more dense, not missing in the dance, house …
Try with the famous dance music Faded, the lower part of the V2 is squeezed into a point between the head, less spread to the sides and create echo. The bass was not noticeable, but it was clear enough. Most of the V2’s bass are mid-bass, while the sub bass is still playable but somewhat lighter. Therefore, the bass never has the feeling of heavy, but easy to hear in any music. The mid bass is beaten, just beats down to stop without leaving many tails so do not leave the feeling of boomy uncomfortable.
Because of its balanced sound and lightweight, the V2 is not the perfect headset to play the strongest, most demanding bass. Instead, V2 will tend to a lot of bass tracks, but it should be fast or neat, with no tail. Like Emily Loiseau’s lightweight melodies, such as the V2’s background bass, it’s clear, fast, that it never affects the vocals of this French female vocalist!
Mid
The MH463 has more bass than the average, so the mid section is not too much to say, but the V2 as well as the Monitor headphones are slightly lighter so there is more ground for the mid. Overall, the mid of the V2 still belongs to the general soundsign of the headset is smoothly gentle, but also not so good or not. Mid is moved towards the middle of the head, but there is no feeling of “violence” and quite easy to hear, laid back.
Mid is quite thick, warm and somewhat slightly dark. The balance is still focused on Somic, so the mid-range does not emphasize a particular part. Bottom, low mid, smooth and enough detail, high mid enough high and roll off early enough to not be sibalance. Trying with the song I Do not Hurt Anymore by Tennessee Ernie Ford, the lower part of the male vocalist was V2 performed quite well, not fluttering, hoarse as the earphones are more powerful but still very inspirational, warm.
The warmth and smoothness of the mid-V2 will affect the vocals of the female singer a bit. On the contrary, these voices will not be as sharp and sharp as before, but compensate for the ease with which they can hear the long back. As in French singer-songwriter Emily Loizeau’s I’m Alive, her voice was slightly lowered, slightly more smooth and slightly behind the orchestra. Depending on the type of music will like or do not like the way to make a singer like that, but one thing is for sure the mid section of the V2 is easy to hear and listen to long distracted.
Treble
Somic’s soundsign never made drastic treble, and the V2 monitor was also beyond the soundsign. The amount of V2 treble is just right, not too much to annoy the listener, but it’s not quite enough to make the song dark. But the main task of this treble is still the background for the song. In Sarah McLachlan’s Rainbow Connection, treble sounds are given behind the ear, playing very smooth and light, giving the song the sweetness it can, but not creating a strong point. V2’s midrange is smooth, warm and light, so it’s easy to understand when it’s made of treble. Treble never sibalance, whisper because when to a certain frequency will roll off lightly, comfortable feeling easy to hear!
