The HP 24-Xa0032 is a good all-in-one desktop PC thanks to its large FHD touchscreen, powerful built-in O&B audio, and powerful components that power you for work and play.
All-in-ones aren’t very exciting, not when we have sleek, ultraportable laptops in the spotlight every day. But the HP 24-Xa0032 might make you rethink what you can do with a spacious PC. This multimedia powerhouse features a 24-inch FHD touchscreen, powerful Bang & Olufsen speakers, and fast SSD storage.
While it’s not as innovative as Microsoft’s Surface Studio or as luxurious as Apple’s iMac Pro, the 24-Xa0032 shows there’s still plenty of room for all-in-one PCs to become mainstream without being too expensive.
Design
The HP 24-Xa0032 is a beautiful All-in-One desktop. When you unpack it, you’ll see how big it is, though the 24-inch screen will help you understand better. Even with a relatively small stand and stand, the widescreen display will be a remarkable part of your desktop/room’s décor. The display bezels are pretty obvious, but they’re not thick and especially thin.
With the exception of the base and base which are covered in silver, the rest of the body isn’t too striking visually, although the sound bar stands out below the screen covered in black fabric. On the other hand, if you’re shopping on a tight budget, the HP 24-Xa0032 will get the job done for almost a third of what you’d spend on the Surface Studio 2, but you’ll have to do with less processing power , sacrificing the graphics card and the overall high-end interface. Sometimes that’s all you need – an inexpensive machine can get the job done.
Connection
As expected for a large AIO desktop, the connectivity options are excellent. It doesn’t have an optical drive, but you get all the ports you need every day. On the back you get two USB-C connections, 3 USB 3.1 Type-A ports (one supports fast charging) 1 HDMI input, 1 HDMI output, a 3-in-1 card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo.
Wireless connectivity via a combination of 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2. Included in the kit is a wired, HP-branded keyboard and mouse. We expected a wireless option here, as we have the less expensive AIO offered with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
With its sleek design and good touch screen, the HP 24-Xa0032 is a simple AIO of choice for home entertainment, but HP was interested in adding more “all-in-one” to make it stronger. These systems often don’t have the most powerful components compared to tower desktops, but that may not be the case here. In a surprising turn, there’s a genuine desktop CPU here, instead of a mobile chip commonly used due to thermal limitations.
Under the hood, it has a 9th Gen Intel Core i5-9400T processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of solid-state storage (SSD), along with Intel UHD 630 graphics. HP previously thought this was a powerful general-purpose machine, one that would be good for both entertainment and moderate content creation.
As for the graphics card, it’s not enough for heavy gaming, wherein you can try Microsoft Surface Studio which has a dedicated graphics card.
So who needs the 24-Xa0032 All-in-One? I find it useful for any media professional who needs a home office machine without a lot of clutter and one that doesn’t cost too much. It won’t have any trouble with your usual workflow, juggling dozens of browser tabs, Spotify, Netflix, Slack, and most photo editing apps.
As always, a desktop setup gives you more flexibility, but not everyone wants to clutter their workspace with noisy cables and PC towers. What’s more, the HP 24-Xa0032 can also act as a secondary display, so you can plug in a gaming console on the side.
While the HP 24-Xa0032 All-in-One’s appeal may be limited, HP deserves some credit for delivering a truly desirable all-in-one PC. It has a gorgeous TV-sized touchscreen and some of the best speakers we’ve heard on a desktop. It doesn’t save electricity either. Overall, it offers everything you want in a top-of-the-line PC.
Still, there’s something to be said as there’s almost everything you need rolled into one, and HP manages to execute it well without charging on top. But not everyone needs the features of this configuration, especially the touchscreen and B&O speakers.
If that describes you and need to save a few hundred bucks but are willing to sacrifice a touchscreen and great sound, then the Editors’ Choice for Cheap AIO PCs, the Acer Aspire Z24-890-UA91 is a perfect choice.
