The Ancheer e-bike is one of the best e-bikes for traversing tough terrain. It uses a powerful high-speed brushless motor for a powerful and comfortable all-terrain driving experience, and thick tires and a durable battery ensure that you won’t get stuck in the middle of a ride.

Electric bicycles have changed the whole cycling experience, especially for fitness and health reasons, now allowing us to travel longer distances and visit more places. The Ancheer Electric Bike is a midsize e-bike that offers a powerful motor that makes riding uphill less strenuous and has a good look.

The model we’re reviewing for sport and mountain bike design has 27.5-inch wheels but is also available in other sizes and colors. It’s powered by a rear 350W brushless hub motor and a 480Wh battery that combine to provide excellent distance range, making it one of the best e-bikes you can get for a price under 1000 dollars.

While the Ancheer Electric Bike doesn’t offer the same comfort and power as more expensive e-bikes like the VELOWAVE Electric Bike, it’s still a better choice than similarly priced electric bikes. Let’s see how it stacks up against the closest competitors.

Design & Assembly

The first thing you’ll notice is the removable battery pack, making it clear that you’re riding an e-bike. On the other hand, the frame is typical of a standard mountain bike that we often see in the neighborhood.

Very few e-bikes have batteries and wiring hidden inside the frame, and the fact that they can be disassembled for indoor charging makes it a good idea to leave them outside for easy access. However, the Ancheer e-bike isn’t the sleekest we’ve seen with all its leads, but you can easily unlock the battery with the key and bring it into the house to charge (takes about 4-6 hours).

Ancheer bikes are about 80% assembled, in a standard shipping package, so you need to take the usual simple steps to have it all. You will need about 30-45 minutes to get it out of the box and ready to drive. After unboxing, all you need to do is attach the included front wheel, handlebars, and seat post.

Then you need to attach a few other components but that won’t take long. Like all bikes, you’ll need a digital screen protector, reflectors, bells, and headlights (battery required, but not included). This bike also comes with a small toolkit and very detailed instructions for each remaining step in the assembly process.

Above the assembly, the user manual includes step-by-step instructions for adjusting both the front and rear derailleurs, should you decide to do the maintenance or repair yourself. The final step should be to slide the battery over the bike’s exhaust and plug it into the first charge.

Features and Ride Comfort

The Ancheer Electric Bike is a comfortable ride and has smooth handling in most driving situations. Whether you’re cornering at high or low speeds or downsampling, it stays calm and responds well to your inputs. All of that is made possible thanks to larger wheels, tires, and telescopic forks that cushion the vehicle and cushion the sidewalls from a serious crash.

The attachments to the Ancheer bike work pretty well; neither the drivetrain nor the brakes require any serious adjustments from the box, and once assembled, the bike is ready to roll without a fuss. The Shimano 21-speed drivetrain provides a wide range of gears and makes it easy to step on the gas even if you run out of battery.

On any e-bike or scooter, the brakes play an important role. On the Ancheer e-bike, the mechanical disc brakes deliver some great performance, though they feel a bit inconsistent at times, with a stopping distance of about 21 feet from top speed. This bike comes with a spring fork, with a sticky and inconsistent trip of almost 2 inches. While useful for significant impacts, it represents more than its suspension performance. In addition, it comes with 1.95-inch wide tires and a bit of spike on them. As heavier tires, they are smooth on rough terrain and provide a good grip if you choose to ride light dirt or trails. However, we don’t recommend doing any heavy mountain biking on this bike even though it looks like a mountain bike.

To round out the bike’s comfort features, the seat is comfortable for long periods. It doesn’t have an adjustable body, but it does have a decent range of seat heights Ancheer claims a rider height of 5’1″ to 6’4″ but any rider can still get some good. Proper leg extension when cycling at maximum height. Well, if you are tall you can still use this bike but you will need a longer seat if you intend to pedal.

That said, while the saddle is comfortable, it may feel a bit stiff if you’re using a softer saddle on another bike. Luckily, it uses a standard rail system so you can easily replace it with a more comfortable one with just an Allen key.

Performance

The Ancheer e-bike comes with a 480Wh (48V 10Ah) battery, which is higher than most models in this price range. For e-bikes and most other electronic devices, the more battery life you have, the longer you can go, and this bike proves it. Using throttle mode alone, you can go up to 20.30 miles with 1,168-foot elevation gain/fall in 1 hour 26 minutes at an average of 14.3 mph and a top speed of 21.7 miles/hour when going through downhill sections.

While it doesn’t outshine more expensive models with this speed and range, it still delivers better performance than most mainstream e-bikes with similar battery capacity.

This is a pretty powerful car with good acceleration and a top speed of 20 km/h. You can use the bike in full electric/gas mode or in five pedal assist modes along with pedaling using the powerful 350W brushless rear hub motor. It’s nowhere near the most powerful we’ve reviewed, but it makes for a pleasant experience.

User interface

The superb riding experience is aided by a truly intuitive user experience, including ergonomic handlebar-mounted controls and a digital display. The controls are made up of a small handlebar-mounted unit that attaches to the left grip. These include five buttons, power, backlight, info, and + and -.

The power button is used to power the bike on and off, and you can also use the backlight button to turn the display’s backlight on or off, while the info button is used to scroll through data fields different at the bottom of the screen. The right handlebar has a standard torsion throttle that is used to turn the throttle when the car is set to all-electric mode.

In addition, the car has a digital display mounted on the right of the steering wheel, right next to the body. The location is ideal when riding, as it displays a lot of information at a glance. It displays the current speed, remaining battery life, and pedal assist settings among others.

By pressing the info button on the controls, you can choose what the bottom field shows, anything from average speed, top speed, trip distance, odometer, or time that has passed.
