amazon MEE audio Wave reviews
Design
Wave has the design of a traditional Onear, with the same modern direction as the Beats Solo 2. This headset can be folded and put into a soft bag to bring it to hand. The cups are made quite small
The music controls are located on the right side of the housing, including four music controls, volume control, power button (when using Bluetooth), mic recorder and a 3.5mm jack. Micro USB headset for charging headset. Each side of the cups has a fake metal ring to look no more monotonous. But look, but look simple Wave is still quite modern.
The ear cushions are designed with many small holes, to escape sweat, airy when used should wear very comfortable. Cups are quite small, mostly on the ears but the pad design is quite good so the Wave is still comfortable. I tried to wear this headset to watch movies and no problem. Band headphones are only black and have the MEE logo on the top. To sum up, this is a headset with no color design, but still looks strong and modern look!

Sound
After testing most of the headphones from MEE, I was vaguely aware of the soundsign of the company. The majority of the headphones are designed to be smooth, warm and thick. The Pinnacle P1 is a lightweight, but smooth, and easy to hear. Wave is Onear, but not beyond this general soundsign, and this is also a good thing.
Bass
The bass will not be the first to “hit the ears”, this is a strange thing with a headset as low as the Wave. The bass of the Wave is slightly above the average level, still at the moderate threshold, not too much. Compared to the market ear, Wave is still a bit lower than Momentum Onear, and not much more than Thinksound On1 and Sony 1A. For those who like low volume, beat fast and compact as fullsize AKG headset will not like Wave. But for those who listen to music, listen to many genres to the bass-head, the Wave can meet. But the new wave of the Wave is important. There are quite a lot of headphones on the market that are labeled as bass players, but only the highest ones without focusing.
Along with the Sennheiser HD25-II, the MEE Wave is one of the Onear’s that has succeeded in reproducing both volume and bass. First of all, the strength of the depth of the MEE. Wave has very deep sub-deep down, less roll off. Of course, there are still a lot of Fullsize units deep down, but to do so with a Onear is a compliment from MEE. The subwoofer gives the listener a sense of weight, although playing soft but focused at a single point does not spread and encroach on either side of the ear. The bass of the Wave is a deep bass to the chest with sub bass, not as much onear now, more emphasis on mid bass, for a bass type in front. Of course, no way to beat anyone can satisfy everyone, but I think a deep bass, clear structure is good.
The mid-bass of the Wave is not too much volume, more control is quite tight when played as mentioned above, not to feel “bang on the ear”! As a headset, but Wave will not do all the songs in the list of dark music, more bass up that focus on improving the bass, especially the bass depth! For example, “Choctaw Hayride”, the bass of the song is not difficult to express, but to do it deep and fit the whole song is not easy. If there are too many mid bass, the double bass will clutter, and in the middle it will be very annoying. But MEE Wave performs quite well, giving the bass a clear, deep structure, but still yielding to the main cast! This is a bass that makes the song even better, not for anyone who just needs bass and does not care about other parts!
Mid
Along with the overall tone of the headphones, the MEE Wave has a somewhat warm tone and a bit darker. But what Wave is more prominent than other bass-headphones is the location of the mid. Mid is moving forward, in the right position to listen to the sound. In addition, the clarity or detail in the mid-wave of the Wave is very good, standing next to the deep bass and also the volume of the mid but still not inferior.
Mid Wave is not too partial, so vocal male or female are equally fair, not a little more. But still have to recognize, this is a strong headset bass so the male voice is more outstanding. Tim Foust’s voice in Your Man is almost unconfirmed, down to full size, thickened to one but still holds good detail. Tim Foust’s voice is down to a certain level of hoarseness as it is a Country singer, and MEE Wave has performed quite well. The high mid section of the headphones is drowned a bit, to reduce the sibalance so the female voice does not reach the highest notes. Amber Rubarth’s voice on the Scribbled Folk Symphonies album is very clean and clear, with a bit of warmth in the tone of the headset. When compared to the traditional AKG K line (although a slightly not equal comparison), the mid of the Wave is thicker, warmer and less prominent. But to say which one is easier to listen to and more likely to listen to more music, I’m sure the Wave.
Wave playing instruments is also quite good. Classical songs need ultra-wide sound, space must be very clean, of course Wave will not be able to show with the Fullsize Open headphones. But the instrumental, unplug the Wave is quite good. The guitar is not sharp and not cold, thick, dark and warm. This guitar reminds me of the Sennheiser HD650, of course, can not get the high detail of this expensive headset. The cello and the violin are also well-presented, thick and heavy to the ears. This shows that Wave is a very good earphone, can play many music and can fit many people with different music!

Treble
As a headset, the treble, of course, will not be the most striking wave in the Wave. But this is not a sink. MEE is one of the companies that succeed in making high-frequency strips easy to listen to, just to match the general sound quality. Wave’s treble range is not as high as possible, of course roll off at certain intervals. The bands that Wave does not have any peak, so when the treble is not there will be some sibalance.
Interestingly, Wave is also affected by the source. When playing with the AK100, the Wave’s treble was more subdued than the mid and bass, as the DAP itself was not strong in this band. But when plugged in with some more light sources, or at least neutral, the treble wave is fairly moderate, not weak at all. And then the treble part also contribute to the sound field of the headphones a bit wide because of the play space is quite comfortable, given to the edge of the headset. Another thing is that in the folk songs, the treble of the Wave is quite natural, even more than some of the vocalist heard vocal. But when playing through EDM, the treble is still sharp and cold to express the vibrant atmosphere of this music, although never sib. So, although not the highest treble sound, the most outstanding, but this is still a piece of treble that suits the overall sound, still makes the sound clean.
Negative
Previously, we often did not fit in with Onear because it was difficult to express the sound. It is not close enough to the ears to transmit close spaces like Inear and also not enough to hold the ears to create a spacious sound like airy Fullsize. But the MEE Wave is one of the earphones that performs pretty well.
Wave as the balance between Inear and Fullsize. The space between the top is shown dense, the ceiling is nearly flooded to the threshold of Inear. The sound of the two sides, outside the ear is not too narrow, but even create the atmosphere is not bad, not lose much more fullsize Close. Of course, to express the wide sound of the open Fullsize is not possible with a closed Onear, but for Wave has shown quite, full sense, not too short in the section at all! This sound combined with smooth, dark sound for the overall sound of close, clean and still open enough!
