amazon Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e reviews
Galaxy S10e is a great product, giving users the features of the higher-end models; the advantage is the compact for users with little hands. Today we will change and learn about a product with Samsung’s ‘e,’ but it is a tablet and not small at all: Galaxy Tab S5e.
The launch of Galaxy Tab S5e with the Tab A 10.1 and Tab A Plus 8 duo as an affirmation of the Korean electronics company about not wanting to give up the Android tablet market is losing to the Apple iPad. Is this product capable of carrying this huge responsibility?
The Galaxy Tab S5e is a 10.5-inch tablet, emphasizing an exterior design being its lightness. The device is only 5.5mm thick and weighs 399g. In comparison, these two indices of the 11-inch iPad Pro are 5.9mm and 468g.
The body is made of aluminum, so although it is thin, it still has a certain strength. Whether it is durable or not will have to wait for the test video from JerryRigEverything, because I don’t have the habit of breaking technology!
On the right side of the machine, we have the power button cum fingerprint sensor similar to the Galaxy S10e (with fast reading speed), volume control button, SIM slot, and micro SD card. It has 64GB of memory available, can expand to 512GB with a micro SD slot.
The lower edge has a USB Type-C charging port and two external speakers – combined with two speakers at the top of the system to create a system of 4 speakers with very large volume.
The unfortunate point (especially for people who watch movies with headphones like me) is Tab S5e gave up the 3.5mm port; users will have to use the USB Type-C dongle!
The back has a very clean design, highlighting the AKG logo – Samsung’s ‘subsidiary’ has designed a 4-speaker system on the Galaxy Tab S5e.
Here we also have a 13MP camera, combined with the front 8MP camera. This camera system only has the average stop quality, but I do not use the camera to take pictures, so I will not hit this.
Back on the front, Galaxy Tab S5e has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 (16:10 ratio), accounting for 81% of the show. The screen is surrounded by a fairly thin and balanced layer, creating a clean design similar to the Apple iPad Pro 2019.
This screen gives a good definition – use at normal distances will not see pores, but if the eye is close enough, still see the pixels because the pixel density only falls on About 288 dpi, much lower than the smartphone screen. The advantage of Super AMOLED screen is to create a very dark black color, thus increasing the contrast ratio superior to tablets using LCD screens.
But when I used it for a while, I noticed an error of the Galaxy Tab S5e screen that the screen on the left-hand side was a bit later than the right when used vertically. Therefore, when pulling up and down when surfing the web, the screen occurs distorted phenomenon (jelly effect) quite annoying.
This phenomenon only appears when using the screen vertically, but it is no longer seen when turned horizontally, so playing games and watching videos, movies does not matter. But this is still a pretty big mistake because it affects people who read newspapers, read news and texts – often, like a vertical magazine, not rotating horizontally.
Tab S5e’s screen also doesn’t support the S-Pen, a feature that is very familiar to Samsung tablets. That is also a major omission because I do not have the habit of using pens with smartphones (Note series), but using them on tablets feels much more natural.
Leaving aside the weaknesses of the screen, we learn about a bright spot of the device as software. Galaxy Tab S5e uses the Android 9 Pie operating system with Samsung’s latest One UI interface. The biggest advantage of One UI on smartphones is that it can perform all tasks with one hand, but with the big screen like on the Galaxy Tab S5e, this is not possible anymore.
On the contrary, we still have a clean, the highly uniform interface among applications, equipped with Night Mode feature to blacken the whole system very useful for those who use the machine at night. Samsung also provides the DeX mode, making it look like the Windows and Mac windows interface, suitable for those who need multitasking.
Operating the Galaxy S5e’s activities is the Snapdragon 670 processor and 4GB RAM, a configuration of the mid-range segment. The Snapdragon 670 is a new generation processor built on a 10nm process and has 10-15% higher performance than the Snapdragon 660.
The Snapdragon 670 processor is responsive to tasks such as watching movies, playing light games but still lagging when entering heavy games such as Asphalt 9.

This configuration may be called ‘enough’ when it does most of what you do every day, but when compared to the iPad Air (2019), the Galaxy Tab S5e becomes much weaker. The CPU performance score of the Bionic A12 chip is twice that of the Snapdragon 670, and the GPU point is three times higher!
iPad Air (2019) is still slightly better than the Galaxy Tab S5e, so this comparison is not 100% fair. But this performance gap is indeed too far away; if anyone wants a high profile and can be used for a long time, it will save money to invest in the product of ‘Apple.’
The advantage of the Galaxy Tab S5e’s internal configuration lies in the 7040mAh battery, which the company says can be used continuously for 14.5 hours in a row. On a free day, I fully charge the device to test the battery’s durability, with the following tasks:
After 6 hours and 30 minutes of continuous operation, the device lost about 55% of the battery, unlike the time it was announced, but it was still very impressive. About 5 hours of screen-on a day with normal usage, surely Galaxy Tab S5e will be available for two days before must charge.
Epilogue
That is indeed a potential product when reading through the features it offers, and also made a very strong impression right from the first time held up by clean design, the thinness, and lightness of it.
Advantages
– Unexpected and slim design
– Can expand the memory with a micro SD card
– 4-speaker system for high volume
– Fingerprint speed sensor fast reading
– Good battery life
– Good finishing software with One UI and DeX
Disadvantages
