The Walkman legend was a revolution in handheld audio when it was first launched in 1979 by Sony. The cassette technology gives music lovers a high-quality sound experience at an unbeatable price. And then, it conquered nearly the entire world during that period. I tell this story because it has a lot in common with the headset from Shuoer, from technology to the name – “TAPE”
PACKING AND ACCESSORIES SHUOER TAPE
Shuoer TAPE has a package design that is definitely the most impressive that I’ve ever opened.
Cylindrical box, divided into 2 halves with prominent orange tones as the mainstream. The captions on the box do not have any text saying about the headset, sound, or product specifications. The texture of the piano keys surrounding the box is the only sign that indicates a sound product on the inside. Without it, I would have thought this was a candy box.

DESIGN AND FINISHING SHUOER TAPE
Like its name, the design of Shuoer TAPE is inspired by ancient cassette tapes. We can see this pattern on the outside of the headset. At first, I thought that Shuoer TAPE was able to change the sound quality through holes shaped like those screws but in reality, it is simply for decoration only.
Housing has a very neat size with the soft contoured part on the wearer’s ear. The sound vent on Shuoer TAPE is slanted and quite long. This will make it easier for earphones to be removed as well as for better grip.
The entire housing of Shuoer TAPE housing is made from monolithic metal with sophisticated lines. Pay close attention, this headset has a lot of small details and angles but they are handled precisely and extremely smoothly. The surface is coated with electrostatic paint which looks firm and more durable.
Shuoer TAPE uses an MMCX connector like the products of Tin Hifi or BGVP. It is therefore easy to find the upgraded connector for this headset.

The connectors, junction forks, and connectors are made from CNC metal for sharp details and durability. The version I’m using uses a 2.5mm Balanced jack, so it comes with a 3.5mm Single End jack. The L-shaped connector is quite neat and is also well manufactured.
To sum up, the design and finishing of the Shuoer TAPE don’t have any drawbacks. All seems to be too good for this price range.

EXPERIENCE AND SOUND QUALITY
The sources used for testing include Hiby R3 PRO and Cayin N6II.
One great thing about Shuoer TAPE is that they are extremely easy to pull. Just by plugging it on a phone, you can hear it loud enough. However, for the best performance, you should still have a professional audio source.
The overall sound of Shuoer TAPE is vivid, energetic with strong bass range, clear mid-range, and very high treble range with the ability to separate instruments. The soundstage is also spacious.
Bass range:
The bass range on Shuoer TAPE is rich in both quality and quantity. The bass is deep, hits neatly, and focuses on mid-bass. The bass melts at a great pace. There aren’t any buzzing or uncomfortable sounds. The texture of the bass strip is tight, it has a good weight and is smooth, without any lumps.
With this bass, Shuoer TAPE plays almost all genres from slow to fast.
Mid-range:
The mid-range is clear and emphasizes the high midsection at about 3-4kHz. Along with the emphasis on the previous bass range, in some music, you will feel the mid-range on Shuoer TAPE is put behind. Both male and female voices are well-presented, neutral, and of moderate thickness. The details of the instrument are great and separate from one another. Shuoer TAPE reveals all the details in the song such as a clicking sound when the nail touches the strings or the sound of swallowing the saliva when the singer breathes. The errors in the recordings will be exposed when being listened to on this headset.
As the segment intensifies at 3-4kHz, the instrument becomes sharper and the vocals become more soaring. This also leads to side effects that you may encounter – mild sibilant phenomena in the music with poor recordings.
Treble range:

There is plenty of air in this band to make it airy and easy to hear. The tone of the treble strip is very neutral and close to the original soundtrack.
Soundstage:
It’s wider and has more depth than most rivals of the same range. It feels more like a theater than a studio. The singer’s voice is in the middle and the musicians are placed exactly on the back. The ability to layer the instruments is also quite good. The sound envelops and creates a 3-dimensional feeling.

COMPARE WITH Hifi News P1
The Hifi P1 is equipped with a flat magnetic driver that serves for impressive layering and neutral tone. The biggest difference between these two headphones is in the bass range. The sub-bass part of Shuoer TAPE goes deep, has much better vibration, and weights heavier. Tin Hifi P1 bass will depend heavily on the source but it focuses mainly on mid-bass and does not have a tight structure like Shuoer TAPE.
The place where Tin Hifi P1 shines is its exceptional level of detail. It’s its ability to separate musical instruments, layering layers while retaining neutrality in tonal colors. Shuoer TAPE, when being hit on the high-mid range, also brought a great feeling but the sound is not full and brighter than normal.
Tin Hifi P1 focused mainly on the midrange while Shuoer TAPE focused on bass and treble. Shuoer TAPE sounds warmer and V-Shape should sound happier and more vibrant.
Tin Hifi P1’s visuals and ability to separate musical instruments are superior, but the depth of the stage is inferior to Shuoer TAPE. Shuoer TAPE has a higher stage but lacks accurate sound when compared to P1.
In terms of wearing comfort and soundproofing. Both offer a very good feel, but Shuoer TAPE provides a better soundproofing feature due to the longer drain. Both are made from metal, very durable.
CONCLUSION
Shuoer TAPE’s finishing and sound quality are too good for its price. Although it’s not perfect, the Shuoer TAPE is still a headset that leaves its mark in the history of the world by bringing static technology to the mainstream.
