amazon Sony SRS XB30 reviews
Design
In the new version, Sony equips this speaker with a LED strip on the front of the speaker, which circulates around the sound hole. The main highlight of the XB30 is that this lamp is RGB lamp, that is can change any color but not as XB20. There are also two flashing lights in the speakers, when the user can see the large 48mm speaker inside the XB30. In addition to the main speakers on both sides, the company also equipped with a passive vibration membrane in the middle to enhance the bass.
Back to the exterior design, the XB30 has a plastic body, large and heavy. At the angles there are plastic parts such as golf ball, probably to avoid scratching the speakers, or just to decorate only. The top side has all the buttons of the speaker include: call button, play and pause button, pairing with other speakers, volume up and down buttons, power button, and most importantly the eXtra bass button. An external eXtra bass button to turn this feature on and off to turn the entire headlight on by pressing hold again. Behind the loudspeaker there is a hole for the passive loudspeaker and the connection ports include: a separate charging port, a 3.5mm audio port, a reset button and a USB port for users to plug into other mobile devices. These gates are covered with a thick plastic, rubberized to resist water. XB30 is equipped with high water resistance, IPX5, one level higher than XB3 is IPX4. Overall, the XB30 retains the XB3’s solid, high-end finish and adds small but practical upgrades to its practical use.

Practical experience
Inside the XB30 has a large capacity battery, for this speaker the music up to 24 hours. Of course, this number will depend on whether the user turned on the eXtra Bass, whether or not to turn on the LED, whether to use the speakers to charge for other devices or not … but in fact use the time. The speakers is up to nearly 20 hours, still an impressive number. If used properly, use 1 hour every day, the speaker can “stay” until the third week to use!
One feature that is hard to find on the box is that the new XB speakers from Sony offer the ability to pair with other speakers WITHOUT the need for the same type, which means the XB30 can pair with the XB10, XB20, XB40 or another XB30. Of course, if used in a symmetrical two ears, of course using the same two speakers will still be more, but if used to increase the volume and space. User not need buy 2 pcs same model.
One point that does not change too much compared to XB3 is that it’s not a bad thing because the predecessor has a perfect sound, no need to add too much. The XB30 retains the bass-heavy sound of the eXtra bass line. Even with this feature turned off, the bass volume of the speaker is much higher than that of other speakers, even the higher power speakers. When used indoors, the user should turn off the feature, sound quality will be more comfortable and less roar. As with the XB3, users should not place the XB30 in a cramped place like a bookshelf, because the bass of this line is very strong, placed in such a place where the echo phenomenon can be masked, well, it sounds pretty uncomfortable. The loudspeaker plays best in open areas, while the bass sounds far out to feel the roundness, richness and strength. With the eXtra bass enabled, the subwoofer will have bass, deep bass, and heavier bass. The mid bass will not increase in volume, but will also be more playable. With the soft music like Get me through December by Alison Krauss, the bass when turned on the eXtra bass seems a bit excessive, but with the Dance like Faded is great! The XB30’s bass is capable of playing outdoors, and the volume of this part of the XB30 is enough to play the music in large spaces. For those who love the bass, of course, the XB30, one of the most explosive bass speakers out there!
To date, the technology has advanced, the way the tune of the company that Sony has changed to produce the headphones but many bass but not drown the other strips, making listening more easily. Mid of the XB30 does not have the bass, but not too much backward, still enough for easy listening. Emily Browning’s voice in the Come Monday Night, full of sounds, is quite natural, but not as electronic as the old Sony products. The low mid section is made very thick, but not the high bass encroached on too heavy. High mid is also cut so not up to the final, but also so that never occurred sibalance. The point I like most in this mid-range is the authenticity, clarity, detail just enough to feel like the singer is singing in front of me. Of course, the more advanced mid-range speakers will have a mid-detail, higher-pitched sound, but at this price range, the XB30 is an impressive mid-section. Users will not be disappointed with the XB30!
The treble of the speaker is harmonized with the remaining strings. The amount of treble stopped at a moderate level, also done roll off a bit, but in return for space is quite spacious with a very impressive thickness. The treble in Amber Rubarth’s Light song feels softer and more realistic than a fake metal. This is a treble sound just enough, not too truncated, but also not reach the level of the Harmony, but again, this speaker is made for the bass, not the treble-head.
One point where XB30 is better than its XB20 brother is the music space. With larger speakers, placed away from each other due to their larger body, the XB30 sound feels wider. Saying this does not mean that the XB20 is bad, but the XB30 is very good at reproducing sound, creating a natural and comfortable listening experience.
