What Benefits Bluetooth 5.0 has to be with headphones

Just a little attention will see that the entire technology industry is gradually transitioning to Bluetooth 5.0 instead of Bluetooth 4.1, 4.2. Headphones are no exception when new Bluetooth headsets are mostly equipped with this new Bluetooth standard. But do you understand all the benefits of it, and we also have to ask whether it is really necessary to buy a pair of headphones, or do we buy old standard ones as well? Okay?

To answer briefly: No, Bluetooth 5.0 is not a ‘survival’ factor with all headphones, but it is different with True Wireless headphones.

First, we must confirm that Bluetooth 5.0 has no effect on sound quality but will greatly affect other auxiliary features of the headset: signal transmission quality, broadcast distance, and power.

Bluetooth 5.0 has increased the transmission bandwidth from 1 Mbps of v4.2 to 2 Mbps, which is double, along with an increase in reception distance to 250m, which is four times higher. The new Bluetooth will also use less power, but there’s no word on how much less.

There is no shortage of good quality Bluetooth 4.1 and 4.2 headphones on the market, such as the Sony WH1000xm3, Bose QC35 II. Although using the old Bluetooth standard, there were no transmission problems during the actual use of these headphones.

On the contrary, for True Wireless headsets, Bluetooth 5.0 is paramount because it offers dual broadcasting. Previously, the Bluetooth 4.2 standard allowed TWS headphones to receive a signal from one side of the headset, then transmit it to the other side, causing a delay for the source (about half a second), thereby causing the image to go first very annoying sound.

The new feature allows the smartphone to transmit signals to both ears simultaneously and automatically check the delay to adjust the picture and sound in sync with each other. We can immediately take an example of the old generation Sony WF-1000x pair with Bluetooth 4 standard, which has a large delay and even loses signal if there is an obstacle. Sony has replaced this pair of headphones with the Sony WF-1000xm3 with Bluetooth 5.0 standard; all these weaknesses have been thoroughly overcome!
