The $129 figure is way too high for such a device. A wireless charger that can charge a phone, AirPods, and Apple Watch at the same time costs less than $50. Meanwhile, Apple’s regular MagSafe charger also costs just $39.
The MagSafe Duo charger uses a white rubber material. When taken out of the box, it looks quite nice and is folded on two sides together. That will create a rather large seam running along the outer edge. The rubber “hinge” in the middle of the two sides also appears to fold immediately.

This stain can be easily removed with just a little water or isopropyl alcohol, but it would be a sad thing to have to do it right out of the box.
Since it’s foldable, you can fold it upside down to charge your iPhone only. Of course, you can also rotate the other way to charge the Apple Watch.
When using the MagSafe Duo charger, you will need to use a little force to push it down if you want to take out the iPhone because the magnets inside have strong suction.
Sure, this is a pretty well-finished product. The magnets are used to hold the state when folded in any direction. The hinge of the Apple Watch charging part is also quite solid and smooth. The weight of the entire device also makes it more sturdy. It makes the whole cluster not vibrate too much when there is a call. Apple did a great job creating this design, but perhaps, it’s not worth the $129 price tag.
There are a lot of great ideas that can be done with MagSafe. It’s good to use magnets inside the charger to align the coils for maximum efficiency automatically. The standard MagSafe charging dock is a good idea for those who want to charge their iPhones while holding them in hand.
Hopefully, Apple and other manufacturers will create more MagSafe accessories to bring a better experience to users.
