How to Connect Galaxy Buds to All Your Devices

According to our analysts, the Galaxy Buds are Samsung’s True Wireless answer to Apple’s hugely popular AirPods, and they’re even slightly better. If you are a dedicated Samsung Galaxy user, these are the headphones for you.

Connecting your Galaxy Buds to a Galaxy device is as easy as linking your AirPods to your iPhone. They can also be paired with any other gadgets, including computers, tablets, and phones.

Here’s how to connect (and also disconnect) Galaxy Buds to your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

How to connect Galaxy Buds

The first step in connecting the Galaxy Buds to your device, any device, is to open the charging case. It may not look like it, but by opening the case, the headphones automatically go into pairing mode, allowing phones, computers, and tablets to find them via Bluetooth.

You’ll probably be using the Galaxy Buds with more than one device, so be sure to disconnect them from one device before trying to connect them to another. Headphones will have difficulty pairing. The easiest way is to turn off Bluetooth on the first device before connecting to the second device.

Pair Galaxy Buds with Samsung devices

Pairing the Galaxy Buds with your Samsung Galaxy device is a relatively short and simple process. All you have to do is turn on Bluetooth and open the case. Your device will automatically detect them, and a pop-up message will let you connect the headphones immediately.

If not, you can go into Bluetooth settings and find the headset in the list, and the pairing process will start automatically. Once the Galaxy Buds are paired, you won’t need to go through the process again. In the future, make sure Bluetooth is turned on and then tap both earbuds simultaneously to reconnect.

Customize with the Samsung Wear app

Once the headphones are connected, your Samsung Wear app will launch automatically. That is where you can check battery life on your Galaxy Buds and use Find My Headphones. You can also control the equalizer, notifications, touchpad, and ambient sound settings. The app can even be used to reconnect the headphones.

Unpair Galaxy Buds with Samsung device

You can unpair the Galaxy Buds from your Samsung Galaxy device through your phone’s Bluetooth settings menu. The easiest way to do this is to pull down the notification shade from the top of the screen and open the Bluetooth menu.

With Bluetooth on, your phone will search for nearby devices, but you can tap Details, then select the gear icon next to Galaxy Buds in the list. That will show you the settings for the paired device, where you can tap Unpair to disconnect them.

Pair Galaxy Buds with Android devices

Thankfully, the Galaxy Buds also work with other Android devices, although the connection process may vary depending on your device.

For example, on the Google Pixel 2, you pull down the notification shade from the top of the screen and press and hold the Bluetooth button. Select Pair New Device, then select Galaxy Buds from the list of available devices nearby.

Pair Galaxy Buds with Android devices

If you want to unpair the Galaxy Buds from your Android device, open the Bluetooth menu and tap the gear icon next to the listed headset button. Tap Forget on the next page, and the Galaxy Buds will be paired.
