amazon Now You See Me 2 reviews
I was very passionate about the version of Now You See Me in 2013 when the film took us surprise than the wonderful magic.
Now You See Me 2 directed by Jon M. Chu, starring “Blue Giant” Mark Ruffalo as Dylan Rhodes, Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel Atlas, Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco as Jack Wilder, Lizzy Caplan as Lula, Jay Chou as Li … Of course, there are no two Morgan Freeman stars like Thaddeus Bradley and Michael Cain as Arthur Tressler. “Harry Potter Witch” Daniel Radcliffe plays Walter Mabry.
In the previous section, it can be said that the four horsemen are always “nose” the viewer by the spectacular tricks that have occupied the hundreds of millions of tycoon Arthur Tressler. Throughout the film the silent help of the 5th Rider – Dylan Rhodes under the cover was an FBI investigator.
At the end of the first part is the scene where Dylan Rhodes sent Thaddeus Bradley to jail, we can see how Dylan Rhodes gloating to do this. It is this second part that will clarify the relationship between Dylan Rhodes and Thaddeus Bradley. At the same time, it also shows that almost everything in the first part is just a play in magic.
After fleeing the federal police search, the group decided to make a new magic trick to expose the crimes of a high-tech tycoon. However, early in the second part of the film has given viewers a pleasant surprise when the Four Horsemen are the “hoax”. The story building in section two is very closely linked to the story in the previous section. For example, the grandiose performances of the past when they succeeded “instantaneous” transfer of a person from the US to England to rob the bank was “re-exported” and this victim is the fourth group of riders. Thaddeus Bradley is almost harmless in the first part of the season, he is a much more “goalkeeper” when he is always ahead of Dylan Rhodes.
Movies are rhythm pretty fast, charismatic with attractive details that you can not leave the screen. And as a brand, “unbelievable” magic can be reinterpreted so you can believe that it is real magic, not the five knights who are superheroes doing the magic. The film also gives the audience a small but exciting surprise about the sage and the wicked, the mystery behind the God’s eyes.

Plot Synopsis
The film picks up one year after the events of the first movie. The Four Horsemen – J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and new member Lula May (Lizzy Caplan) – are in hiding, waiting for instructions from the secretive organization known as “The Eye.” They are brought out of hiding by their leader, Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), who has been posing as an FBI agent to protect them.
The Horsemen’s new mission is to expose the unethical practices of tech magnate Owen Case (Ben Lamb) during the launch of his latest product. However, the plan goes awry, and the Horsemen are outed and forced to flee. They soon find themselves in Macau, where they are captured by Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe), a tech prodigy and former business partner of Case. Mabry coerces the Horsemen into stealing a powerful computer chip that can decrypt any system in the world.
As the Horsemen plot their heist, they must navigate a web of deception, betrayal, and unexpected alliances. Along the way, they are reunited with their mentor, Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman), and uncover deeper secrets about The Eye and its true intentions.
Character Development
J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg)
Atlas, the de facto leader of the Horsemen, struggles with his desire for control and recognition. His character arc explores themes of ego and trust as he learns to rely more on his team and less on his own abilities. Jesse Eisenberg brings a sharp intensity to the role, capturing Atlas’s intelligence and ambition.
Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson)
Merritt, the hypnotist, provides much of the comic relief in the film. Woody Harrelson delivers a charismatic performance, balancing Merritt’s laid-back demeanor with moments of genuine insight and skill. In this installment, Merritt faces a personal challenge in the form of his twin brother, Chase (also played by Harrelson), adding a layer of complexity to his character.
Jack Wilder (Dave Franco)
Jack, the sleight-of-hand expert, continues to evolve from the rookie of the group to a confident and capable magician. Dave Franco’s performance highlights Jack’s growth and determination, as well as his loyalty to the team. Jack’s faked death in the first film is addressed, adding depth to his character’s motivations and actions.
Lula May (Lizzy Caplan)
Lula is a new addition to the Horsemen, replacing Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher) from the first film. Lizzy Caplan brings a fresh energy to the group, portraying Lula as quirky, enthusiastic, and talented. Her integration into the team is smooth, and she quickly becomes an essential member, showcasing her unique skills and humor.
Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo)
Dylan’s dual role as the leader of the Horsemen and an FBI agent adds tension and complexity to the story. Mark Ruffalo’s performance captures Dylan’s internal conflict and dedication to the Horsemen. His quest for revenge against Thaddeus Bradley, whom he blames for his father’s death, drives much of the plot and reveals more about his past.
Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe)
Daniel Radcliffe’s portrayal of Walter Mabry is a standout in the film. As the antagonist, Mabry is cunning, ruthless, and technologically savvy. Radcliffe’s performance adds a new layer of villainy to the franchise, making Mabry a formidable foe for the Horsemen. His motivations are driven by betrayal and a desire for power, making him a complex and intriguing character.
Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman)
Thaddeus, the former magician turned debunker, plays a pivotal role in the sequel. Morgan Freeman brings gravitas and depth to the character, blurring the lines between mentor and adversary. Thaddeus’s true intentions and loyalties are gradually revealed, adding intrigue and suspense to the narrative.
Thematic Elements
Illusion vs. Reality
One of the central themes of “Now You See Me 2” is the interplay between illusion and reality. The film explores how perception can be manipulated and how what appears to be true may not always be so. This theme is woven throughout the narrative, from the Horsemen’s elaborate tricks to the revelations about The Eye and its members.
Trust and Betrayal
Trust is a recurring theme in the film, both among the Horsemen and with their allies and enemies. The characters must navigate a landscape filled with deception and betrayal, learning to rely on each other despite their differences. Dylan’s complicated relationship with Thaddeus and the Horsemen’s forced alliance with Mabry highlight the tenuous nature of trust in their world.
Revenge and Redemption
Dylan’s quest for revenge against Thaddeus drives much of the plot, but it also sets the stage for potential redemption. As the characters confront their past actions and motivations, they are given opportunities to seek forgiveness and make amends. This theme is particularly evident in Dylan’s evolving relationship with Thaddeus and the Horsemen’s efforts to expose corruption.
